Sep 22, 2013Using a picture browser or other image management application, after selecting one or more raw files (maybe from different folders), what is the syntax for a call to Lightroom to open those files (best directly in the develop module)? Right now I can ask to open the images in Photoshop/ACR or to open a folder on Bridge, but I can't find out how to do that with LR. I just can't bypass the catalog part which is useless to me.

Sep 6, 2010I use Lightroom 1.4 and want to upgrade to 3.2. After installing the software I can't open the application (message: the application Lightroom has suddenly stopped...). I tried to remove old prefs, old application, other Adobe prefs and finally all Adobe software but Lightroom refuses to start up. I tried to create another user and for the new user the thing is working. I really really hope to find a way to get it running on my old user-account because of a lot of other software, server-connections etc etc. I am working on Mac OS 10.5.8.

Oct 9, 2013This just started happening quite recently and it's really annoying me, but I can't find a preference where I can switch it off.
If I'm working on an illustration and zoom in on a detail, I'll find that any other open windows (within Photoshop CS2) have zoomed with exactly the same amount too, and I have to resize them all. Very time consuming when I'm zapping between open windows. Is this a setting I've inadvertantly clicked or a bug in the software?

Jul 20, 2013I previously downloaded a copy of Photoshop CS6 off TPB, but somebody else has the serial number I used, and I can't open the application. I need to know how to deactivate my computer so I can download a trial version from the website.
Also, I can't open the program because when I do, it comes up with a box saying "The serial number 12345678987654321 is already in use by the maximum allowed computers. You must deactivate another computer or provide another valid serial number to use Photoshop CS6 Extended again on this computer." how to deactivate it without having to open the application, and uninstalling it doesn't deactivate it.

Sep 17, 2013The Elements 11 Organizer icon in my Applications folder has a circle with a slash through it and when I click on it I get the error 'You can't open the application "Adobe Elements 11 Organizer" because it is not supported on this type of Mac.' The packaging for the software clearly states it is compatible with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. I did an uninstall and reinstalled with no other programs running, but still have the same problem. I originally had this software installed on an older Mac Mini running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard with no problems at all.
I am able to open Elements 11 Editor, however, when I try to open a raw file from my Panasonic Lumix LX7 I get the error 'Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.' Once again, I had no problem opening this file on my Mac Mini and the Lumix LX7 is a supported camera. I am able to open a NEF file from my Nikon D5100, and I am able to open a JPEG file from the Lumix.

When I close and reopen Studio X4 the library does not contain any media (photo, video, audio). Library exports and imports no luck. It looks as if start Studio the library is reset. A smart package no luck too.
Deleting C:Documents and settings....Ulead SystemsCorel Videostudio Pro14.0pl-PL no luck.
The problem is so serious that adding a HD video again- new proxy file is created- it takes a long time. The old proxy file is correct, but in proxy manager is absent.

Nov 11, 2013I'm trying to start Excel and show the results of some BOM items I have written to a file like item number, part number and description.The task is to find components in an assembly that have a part number longer then 39 characters, due to ERP limitations.
What I´m doing is cycling through all BOM (structured) items on first level and check if the part number is longer then 39 characters.
I write these item number, part number, description to an Excel file (temp.xlsx), so the user sees which Components he has to check for the Part Number (make it shorter). I figured it would be best to do that with an excel file, so the user can save the results to a new file or just check it.
Values will be erased from the temporary excel file afterwards.Here I can't figure out how to start the excel application and open the file in an actual application window if possible.
how to list the results with plain iLogic that would do it too or some other solution to list a snapshot from the BOM.I guess there is no way to add your custom BOMViews ?
Lightroom :: 5.2 Crashes When Opened (Mac)
Sep 21, 2013I have Lightroom 5.2, which I installed a few days ago. Yesterday, it started failing to open with a crash report generated. I read that upgrading to OS X 10.8.5 fixed this crash. So I upgraded yesterday evening. However I still get a crash. I do have a HD that I recently installed (perhaps 1 week ago) that is 3 TB. I can also open LR 4 and I did delete the Lightroom 5 preference file. Here is the crash report that appears a few seconds into trying to start up LR 5.2.

Dec 28, 2012Here in Denver on the day the earth was ending, we had a large power outage in my neighborhood. I was intently working on some images when it hit and it took my display and a few hard drives down. My battery backup did take over. It was a true test for the old battery backup system. Well...one battery was dead, another worked great, but was connected to an old computer I don't even use anymore. I was able to safely shut down some of my equipment. When the power came back on, I fired everything up again and it all seemed good. Lightroom opened up with no problems and I continued to work. But when I tried to quit and save....it couldn't because the drive with my Lightroom cat backup had died.
Now, I can't open my master catalog. I'm getting an error message that says "Lightroom can not use the catalog because it's not writable and can't be opened". I'm using vers 3.2 on a Mac running OS 10.6.8. I've researched this a little bit and have read about a locked file that needs to be thrown away.....I don't see a locked file. I do see one that says .lrcat-journal.....is this the locked file?What should I try next?
