It seems that once my newly purchased autocad lt. 13 opens up a drawing created by an other co-worker in autocad Lt. 11, it automaticly converts to 13 and now the person using 11 can no longer open the file. what I should do?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have ACA 2013 (student version) running in the Windows 8 environment. I cannot open anything drawn in a previous release nor can I open a drawing created in ACA 2013 that was installed on the Windows 7 platform.
I have tried to drag in the drawings through design center. That worked for a while now when I try that it causes ACA to crash. Also I have tried multiple drawings that were created in several different versions of ACA. (2004, 2006 and 2009)
As a side note I was able to open those files in ACA 2013 running on the Windows 7 OS.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a function or class can be used with the MdiActiveDocument and also with the external Database. In order words the function or class should be able to access current Document and also non-opened Databases.
My difficulty is accessing the non-opened drawings and utilizing the SelectionSet to select blocks with SelectionFilter like I could do with a MdiActiveDocument.
I would like to know if what I am trying to do is even possible, or would I have physically open the drawing to have the ability to utilize SelectionSet and filters.
One to Five people has the same project loaded into their Project Navigator.
One of the people opens a plot sheet while using the Project Navigator.
ALL computers with that project loaded experience an Autocad 2011 Crash.
-No Error Message appears.
-Autocad shuts down completely with no warning.
-Simultaneously!
This only occurs with DWG files located under the Sheets Tab of the project navigator.
It is not Project specific. This has occured for different users in our office with different projects open. However Autocad only crashes for the users with the specific project accessing the plot sheet loaded.
We recently made the switch from 2009 to 2011. So far this is only a problem for projects where the plotsheets were created in 2009. We can't go back to 2009 to plot since the walls etc have now adapted to 2011.
I'm having issues converting drawings in autoCAD 2011 for Mac to PDF using the regular methods.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSeveral users here in my office have been having a strange issue with ACA 2011. When doing various things such as, saving, regen'ing, or manually switching between open drawings, ACA will "blink" to a completely different drawing.
For example, right now I have 4 drawings open. I'm trying to go from drawing A to drawing B. It goes to drawing B and starts to regen model space, then it blinks back to drawing A. Does the same for any of the 4 drawings. Only way to make it stop was to close drawing A.
As I said, it not only does this when switching drawings. It'll also do it after it's done saving and when I try to regen.
We are using AutoCAD 2011 and AutoCAD 2012 on the same drawings. It is slowing the drawings down in AutoCAD 2011. There is at least one person that only has AutoCAD 2012 on their machine.

- Recently we have upgrade to Inventor 2012.
- Installed pspro_cad_fp_10.0.39.3 update for PSP Server and for PSP Clients.
And now, some drawings we can not open in Inventor 2012. Inventor crashes!
But some drawings we are lucky to be able to open and work with.
Drawings have the same template.
If the drawing is locked (read only) then inventor 2012 can open it without a crash.
If I drag&drop drawing out from PSP onto my Desktop, Inventor 2012 can open drawing without problems.
So we are not able to work with some drawings in Inventor 2012 and PSP 2011.
As the first and quick (and 100%) solution - rollback to Inventor 2010 can cost us about 5 man-days of work. (Because we have done some work in Inventor 2012 allready and will not be able to work with this in Inventor 2010)
I have a Windows 7 machine running AutoCAD 2013. When trying to open any drawings from our AutoDesk Vault 2013 server, AutoCAD will hard lock/freeze and can only be closed by using Windows Task Manager. When accessing the same files through the Vault first, without opening AutoCAD, they open with no issues.

Multiple people on our team has had this issue and it only started recently. (We've had it installed a few months now).Could it be the new file tabs feature in 2014?
I'm using ACAD 2013, and for the first time since I installed it a month or so ago, I opened AutoTrack (by mistake). Now whenever I double click an AutoCAD file, it will automatically open in in AutoTrack, unless I open AutoCAD and open the file that way. It may be a coincidence, but my viewcube has just stopped working, and has become a static, unselectable image - like a fuzzy stamp on my drawing. I can't click or right click on it, and when I zoom, it doesn't stay in the same place at the same size, like it's supposed to.
This was happening when I was using 2012 too, but stopped after I installed 2013. As I said, it has just started up again after I opened AutoTrack by mistake.
Lightroom 3 cannot open because another application already has it opened. I received this confirmation after sending photo files to my E Book.

I have reinstalled ACA 2011, I have copy this same file from another computer, verified the permissions etc... It turns out they are using Civil 2011, and obviously are unable to open our drawing. As far as I'm aware, they need a TIN surface and cogo points, but I'm unsure of how to provide them with this other than reproccessing the job on an older version of Civil.
I'm thinking that I might be able to export to LandXML to keep all my points and surface, and then just export to Autocad 2010 for the linework?
I am unable to open a jpg as a jpg once it has been opened——and NOT adjusted--- in raw. either can I open it as a jpg from within CS5 where it selects it from the Finder. Am I missing something or is this just the way CS5 has been designed?

The Detail Component Manager will not open on (2) of our (7) machines and returns the error message: "Specified cast is not valid". The files are located on each machine. I have tried running a repair; I have copied the Detail Component Manger files over from the good machines, and I have also run a re-install and the Detail Component Manager still will not work.

What worked fine in 2010 now throws an "Error Decrypting Data" error on trying to open a drawing created with an educational version. They are sending us DGN files and they do not seem to want to import in the latest AutoCAD Architecture 2013 I have deployed throughout the offce. However, these same drawings have no problem in importing to AutoCAD Architecture 2011. In 2013, I get no activity once I select the file to import. If I click on the screen once, the program dims and the program says it is not responding. But I have no problem with 2011.

When I hold down the wheel, it swipes over to my Mac dashboard. Also the delete button does not delete. I have to use the E command.
