Has this functionality been removed in the 2011 API. What worked fine in 2010 now throws an "Error Decrypting Data" error on trying to open a drawing created with an educational version. These are student files that we are examining with an external marking program. The application can open non-educational versions without issue.

So for example.
If I have a file name "test.dwg" and run some custom command like 'openfile", AutoCAD opens "test.dwg" without any prompt.
The following code DOESN'T do the job I want.
Application.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument.SendStringToExecute("OPEN", true, false, true)
The problem is I have to hit enter after the above code is run.
I am unable to use the file command open, new etc. I click on open and nothing happens no file box opens. As soon as you do anything else the program says not responding and you have to close it down. I can click on an autocad file in windows explorer and bring up the file this way but as soon as you try any file command such as save as the program freezes again. I am running windows 7 professional and the autocad LT 2011 64 bit program.
View 9 Replies View Related today i was working with the Autodesk 2011 when the first problem started with rendering, i tried to render but the image was not good, it was like the rendering process did not 100% finished but stopped.
It then become more serious since i tried to render with some different mental rays, at a point it crashed while rendering and exit the application.Next thing that happened was a crash when i tried to clone a set of objects,i got an error stating that there was not enough memory and the application has to shut down.
Then i decided to uninstall it and go with 2010 because i remeber it worked great previously. Once i did install 2010 i tried to open my 2011 file and i got this message:
i'm having a problem with maya 2011 , i can't open some file and sometime the program don't save and an error message appear saying i "maya could not save", i've got to send my work next saturday and i'm desperate now .

We have a bunch of dwg files. The requirement is to extract a specific list of attributes from the layers within CAD to a csv file. We are currently manually opening the dwg using AutoCAD and exporting the attributes. This has been time consuming and we need a faster process.
What options do I have to programmtically extract them?
I was trying to retrieve a list of the currently open drawings before running a batch script in VB .Net 2008 so that the program can check the selected file listto update against whats open already to make sure that the file isnt read only.

I have reinstalled ACA 2011, I have copy this same file from another computer, verified the permissions etc... The Detail Component Manager will not open on (2) of our (7) machines and returns the error message: "Specified cast is not valid". The files are located on each machine. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed a copy of Autodesk Product Design Suite Ultimate 2013 and am having problems with assemblies in Inventor turning into educational versions. When I was at Purdue University I used the free educational version of Autodesk Inventor. I recently uninstalled Inventor, deleted the autodesk folders in program files, program data, and my documents folders.
Then I installed this professional version. Everything works great until i use something from the content center. Once a bolt is placed in the assembly the entire assembly becomes educational when I open it again.
I have tried several times to do a clean uninstall to remove the educational version of Civil 3D 2012 so I can install the commercial version I purchased. I have tried several times (4) to no avail. How to remove the educational watermark?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to import a MIF file from Mapinfo into AutoCad Map 2011. Which is a data base of geotechnical locations with added log data for each point.
The data seems to come in ok (correct location) but some of the points don't have any object data associated with them. When I id the point and trace it back to the database (originally an .xls file that has been imported into Mapinfo for the translation purpose) there should be a whole lot of data associated with it. most of the points are coming in with data but there are random points with no data.
What is the simplest way to insert a PDF file(drawing) into an Autocad 2011 drawing???
