Apr 11, 2012Someone "borrowed" my thumb drive without my permission and infected one of my files. Is there anyway to remove the educational stamp?

Jul 19, 2012I'm currently working on a project using drawings supplied by others that contain educational version stamps, I just want to make sure I'm not breaching any terms of my license by using all or part of these drawings for commercial use?

May 9, 2011I'm having some problems with ACA 2012 when trying to work with wall styles.
I'm currently on the final year of my IArchitecture degree, up until this point I've used AutoCAD through the AD Student Community , but I've just picked up a book on ACA and was planning to get to grips with it. However, I ran into issues within the first few pages!
When trying to apply wall styles to existing walls in my drawing, I get the following message:
** Canceled - Educational Plot Stamp in source drawing. **
And no wall style is applied. I can edit properties of walls in terms of height and width etc, but can't apply any styles.

Jan 2, 2011When I try to open or create drawings in autocad (which i downloaded recently from the edu community) it gives me a warning which says "the drawing file being opened was not created by a product from an autodesk education suite. if you save this drawing it will always be plotted with the follow plot stamp: produced by an autodesk education program.it is recommended that you save this drawing with a different file name." but I have saved and resaved drawings, tried different extensions and still it won't plot or print without this plot stamp. What is most likely causing it and what can I do to remove it.

Jun 20, 2012I have recently installed a copy of Autodesk Product Design Suite Ultimate 2013 and am having problems with assemblies in Inventor turning into educational versions. When I was at Purdue University I used the free educational version of Autodesk Inventor. I recently uninstalled Inventor, deleted the autodesk folders in program files, program data, and my documents folders.
Then I installed this professional version. Everything works great until i use something from the content center. Once a bolt is placed in the assembly the entire assembly becomes educational when I open it again.

May 19, 2012I have installed the student version of Autocad 2013. My professor has asked me to convert my dwg files into 2010 format, as she is unable to open them. When I attempted to do so, Autocad informed me that I cannot convert files with the student version. Is there anything I can to to fix this? Or, can she somehow convert them on her end?

May 9, 2011Has this functionality been removed in the 2011 API. What worked fine in 2010 now throws an "Error Decrypting Data" error on trying to open a drawing created with an educational version. These are student files that we are examining with an external marking program. The application can open non-educational versions without issue.

Oct 16, 2013I am using the Autocad 2013 educational version. I have a drawing with a .ctb file. When i print, it is printing with the lines in colour. I would like the lines to print in black or grey. I assume I need to change the plotstyle to a monochrome.ctb plot style, but cannot work out how to change the plot style.
Is the plot style changed in the model or paper space of the drawing, or in the print menu?
- I have looked extensively under File/ print and can find nowhere to change a plot style.
- under File/ plot styles I can select from a list of .ctb files - but it only allows me to edit them - not apply them to the drawing.
- In the drawing under the properties inspector i can see a plot style menu and it is currently showing the option ' bycolour' when I click on the pull down options menu, there are no other options. There is also a 'plot table type; but it says this is ' not available'
-When i type plot styles in the drawing it brings up a bring s up an edit plotstyle table window, and this has a pull down menu that displays arrange of plot styles , but when I select one it only allows me to edit the plot style table and save and close. It does not actually apply it to the drawing.

Oct 4, 2013I don't suppose there exists a lisp or method other than PEDIT that would automatically delete vertices that are unnecessary. I have a set of plans that seem to have been drawn...interestingly.
A lot of polylines have these seemingly arbitrary vertices that break up longer straight lines.
Ideally I'd like something that would compare Vertex A, B and C, if they all share an X or a Y, remove Vertex B (assuming that A, B and C are sequential vertices on one Polyline) - perhaps with a way of adding an adjustable tolerance.
AutoCad 2D :: Multiple Hatch Grip Removal
Apr 24, 2013Trying to remove multiple hatch grips. Since 2011 brought in the pop-up option, single grips can be removed with this method. But when I want to delete a larger number of grips at once, I can't achieve the required result. Process is as follows:
1. Select Hatch itself
2. Holding SHIFT, select multiple grips (which turn from blue to red)
3. Then 1 left click on a grip, and scrolling through the options using CTRL key until I arrive at 'REMOVE'. Then another left click and nothing happens!
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Profile Grade Break Removal
Jan 6, 2013I was laying out a vertical curve in the roadway profile. I have a vertical curve of 100' in length, however immediately after that it shows a grade break. I do not want this grade break in my profile, I simply want a vertical curve with two grades on the left and right sides. How can I get 2009 C3D to remove the grade breaks? It would be very uncomfortable for someone to have to drive over these in the real world.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Showing Removal Clearance Lines?
Jan 3, 2013When creating a piping part, like a strainer, I'd like to be able to show something to represent the area that needs to be kept clear to allow for removal of the filter cartridge. In AutoCAD I'd just draw a phantom circle and a few lines extending from it to show the needed room. Any way to indicate the area in an Inventor part that won't obscure parts of the main object or other objects that may be located behind? Transparent solids, or maybe sketch entities? It's primarily needed for design, but if it can show up in the 2D drawing (without totally blocking what's behind it) it would be a plus.

Nov 26, 2012I'm running Architecture 2013. When creating an elevation object from a 3D model, the hidden lines are not being removed. I've never seen this before, though I have been using Architecture and ADT for years. I've recently upgreaded from 2009 to 2013, and VOILA!
Hidden lines not removed from elevation and section objects. I've tried various tests, to no avail.....

Sep 4, 2012I've got a problem following playing around (Typical, isn't it?). Architecture 2011 allows editing property sets from external objects through the host drawing (i.e. change a room number of a property set attached to a space xref'ed in from another construct). This obviously has to put an editing lock onto the xref to prevent data loss in case somebody else works on the xref in the meantime. This editing lock is removed when I close my host drawing. However, the lock is immediately restored when I re-open the host drawing.
How can I release the xref file lock again after editing the property sets in my host drawing?

Nov 6, 2013I have used Gimp many times in the past, sometimes for fairly complicated photo retouch but mostly for more routine things like red eye removal, cropping, exposure control, etc. I downloaded a new version of Gimp when I replaced my computer some time ago. I followed the Gimp tutorial for red eye removal and it worked but the lines created when I used the free selection tool are remaining after I click OK to finalize the operation. Am I missing a click somewhere to turn of the selection lines?

Dec 19, 2013We have a frequently used bearing assembly for dampers, mounted to plate consisting of a shaft hole w/ 2 countersunk holes for flat head cap screws to mount the bearing.
I have a stamp for the hole array into the plate, and can individually i Mate each FHCS into said holes after placing in the assembly onto the plate.
Is there a way to set up the iMates so that the bearing assembly would plop in automatically into the two separate countersunk holes? Not sure if you would have to create iMates in the stamp...or if thats even possible.
Sometimes the damper may have 2 bearing assemblies @ opposite side of the frame for one blade shaft, sometimes we may have as many as 4-5 blade shafts (10 bearing assy's). So Im imagining dragging the thing to each iMated array and dropping it in.
