Photoshop Elements :: Some Of Application Components Are Missing From Application Directory
Sep 3, 2012
I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 but get the following alert: "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application." Can it be reinstalled? It is not available under "History" and none of the available installs appear to be for Mac OS X (Version 10.7.4). S
at photoshop cs6 extended downloaded in july, i now get the following message: "some of the application components are missing from the application directory. please reinstall the application."
I have PSE9 and a macbook pro 10.9. I lost the original DVD that came with my purchase of PSE. Some files must have gotten corrupted because I can't open the program without reintalling. It says, "Some of the application components are missing from the application directory. Please reinstall the application." I have the serial number and all and I registered the product. Is there somewhere I can download a new copy to install?
When opening an image in Photoshop CS5, I get the message that "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory. Please reinstall the application." I did reinstall, but still get the message.
I recently bought a new Mac Mini, and copied all my computer data and applications from my MacBook Pro onto it. Since the Creative Suite (CS6) wasn't working on the new computer, I re-installed it (downloaded from the Adobe website).
Here's the problem: When I try to open Photoshop by double clicking on a file icon (such as a .jpg), I get this message: "Some of the application components are missing from the application directory, Please reinstall the application." So - I uninstalled and then reinstalled everything, but it still doesn't work. Also another icon appears in the Dock on the far right.
If I launch Photoshop first, and then open files from within the application, the files open without a problem. But I'd rather not have to do this all the time.
With InDesign and Illustrator, another icon appears in the dock as well when I double-click on a file - but I don't get the message and can access the file with no problem.
When loading Photoshop CS4 or Dreamweaver I get both the same message; some of the application components are missing from the application directory, please reinstall the application. Well, I've reinstalled photoshop and dreamweaver several times, download everything again too.Nothing solves the problem. What to do? the message is simply not telling me what is going wrong, shame on adobe.but anyone got the solution to this?
I un-installed CS5 when I got additional memory on my MacBook Pro. Wben I re-installed CS5 I moved the application icon to my desktop. When I clicked on the icon I got a screen that said. "Some of the application components and missing from the Application Directory" Please re-stall the application. The CS5 does open if I open it on the application page.
The Upgrade to CS6 from CS5 will not open!!When I try to open I get the Message "Componets missing from applications directory. Please reinstall" I did five Times with the same results
When opening my Photoshop CS6 extended, I found out that the application bar, that should be on top with the symbols of three colour rounds in beginning, is missing. Is there something wrong with my photoshop or should I do something to make it show???
This problem began for me after installing the PSCS6 beta. I started getting a popup saying "Adobe Application Manager is missing or damaged" and advising me to download and reinstall AAM. I did that, with no result. The responses from Adobe ("you must have a bad installer"). I was able to leave the beta as it was and use PSCS5.
Fast forward: PSCS6 is released and I purchase and try to install the upgrade, which won't install with the beta present. The Beta uninstaller won't run because of the AAM error. I laboriously search and delete all files related to the beta.PSCS6 release version installs, but when it starts I get a popup witht the same message about AAM. I have spent over 12 hours in chat with Adobe support with only negative results. Not only have they not fixed the problem -- they have managed to propagate it to my PSCS5 installation -- which they subsequently deleted.
As part of attempting to diagnose I have tried the PSCS6 unistaller, which fails with the same error; used the CS cleaner tool and reinstalled -- same problem; verified permissions and file ssytem on my system drive; tried removing CS6 and reinstalling from a new, clean admin account -- same AAM error.
I am at my wits' end with this. I have NO working verion of photoshop (big problem for a photographer/designer), NO confidence in Adobe support (most of the 12 hours was watching them try the same things we had done several times before), and how to fix this short of stripping my Mac back to the metal and reinstalling everything.
I have opened a block to add a quick leader only and when I tried to close I got the message cannot save back ... (see screenshot 1) when I hit f2 the problem is shown to be a missing application reference (see screenshot 2).
This may not seem a big deal but the problem actually occurred after about 15mins of editing a block and it has taken me about an hour to figure out what the culprit was
The Elements 11 Organizer icon in my Applications folder has a circle with a slash through it and when I click on it I get the error 'You can't open the application "Adobe Elements 11 Organizer" because it is not supported on this type of Mac.' The packaging for the software clearly states it is compatible with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. I did an uninstall and reinstalled with no other programs running, but still have the same problem. I originally had this software installed on an older Mac Mini running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard with no problems at all.
I am able to open Elements 11 Editor, however, when I try to open a raw file from my Panasonic Lumix LX7 I get the error 'Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.' Once again, I had no problem opening this file on my Mac Mini and the Lumix LX7 is a supported camera. I am able to open a NEF file from my Nikon D5100, and I am able to open a JPEG file from the Lumix.
I just downloaded photoshop elements. When I try and open the download it asks what application do I want to use to open. I don't know. I have a macbook air.
I'm running Photoshop Elements 10 on Mavericks. On lauch I'm getting an error code 16 and the application doesn't open. I've tried to download and run the license repair from Adobe and it doesn't respond. I've gone in and performed a disk permissions repair, and nothing.
Photoshop Elements 12 for Mac Late 2012 Mac mini, 2.6GHz i7, 16 HB RAM, Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks)
I purchased and downloaded Photoshop Elements 12 as an upgrade to Photoshop Elements 10. Download and installation appeared to be completely normal but when I launch the Photo Editor the following message appears:
Your application install seems to be damaged, Please reinstall the application.I have:
Reinstalled PE12 from the original downloadDeleted PE`10 and reinstalled PE12 from the original downloadRedownloaded PE12 and resinstalled it from the new downloadUninstalled PE12 and reinstalled it from the second downloadManually scrubbed every trace of PE12 and reinstalled it from a third download.I am still getting the warning message. From what I can tell from cursory testing the Photo Editor appears to be functioning correctly other than the damaged installation warning message.
when attempting to print images from elements 11 from the organisor to my cannon 4900 printer the print dialogue failes to create a preview image and then automatically closes the application. seems to happen when i try and print an image that i have printed previously.
When I click in the shortcut (now covered with a shield icon) the programme starts, fails to fully boot and dissapears. Subsequent efforts to start then do not even try to boot.
When I try to open any photo using PE 11 as the default application, the photo doesn't open. I have to open the application first and then search for and import the photo into the application. Is this the way it is supposed to work?
The photoshop elements starts opening then the message appear: 'The application has requested the runtime to terminate in on unusal way' and the photoshop elements shuts down
Purchased a elements 11 disk from a store. After it finishes installing it says application has failed to install Shared Technologies. The program then starts rolling back the entire install and no programme is install.
In PSE12, Organizer, when I zoom in to see a photo, and apply Smart Fix or Rotate left or right. when the program finishes, I see the save icon, then the screen zooms out to the page with the first file in the folder. Quite annoying when I'm trying to see the effects of the Smart Fix. I have to refind the photo and zoom in again. I'd like to stay where i was until i get a chance to look at the corrections. How do I stop that?
I'm working with Illustrator CS5 and was looking for the keyboard shortcut to move between the workspace elements contained within the Application framework.
