View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new Mac Mini, and copied all my computer data and applications from my MacBook Pro onto it. Since the Creative Suite (CS6) wasn't working on the new computer, I re-installed it (downloaded from the Adobe website).
Here's the problem: When I try to open Photoshop by double clicking on a file icon (such as a .jpg), I get this message: "Some of the application components are missing from the application directory, Please reinstall the application." So - I uninstalled and then reinstalled everything, but it still doesn't work. Also another icon appears in the Dock on the far right.
If I launch Photoshop first, and then open files from within the application, the files open without a problem. But I'd rather not have to do this all the time.
With InDesign and Illustrator, another icon appears in the dock as well when I double-click on a file - but I don't get the message and can access the file with no problem.
When loading Photoshop CS4 or Dreamweaver I get both the same message; some of the application components are missing from the application directory, please reinstall the application. Well, I've reinstalled photoshop and dreamweaver several times, download everything again too.Nothing solves the problem. What to do? the message is simply not telling me what is going wrong, shame on adobe.but anyone got the solution to this?

The database opens and displays correctly with my history displayed in the Develop module. However when I close Lightroom with the Backup option, the backup directory is not created.I have Lightroom 5 installed on a Windows 7 desktop computer.

If i make the polycarbonate invisible, the missing parts appear again. This strange phenomenon started today. It didn't happen before, and no parts were missing behind the clear polycarbonate.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am working on a large plant piping project and while I've seen this behavior before I've never seen it this bad.
Attached is a screen shot of a small portion of the assembly drawing in which you can see a good example of what I'm dealing with.
At the top you can see a weld neck flange that appears to be attached to air where there should be an elbow. In the middle you can see that on one side of the elbow there is missing geometry.
At the bottom is another flange that attached to air where there should be an elbow. This drawing is littered with these errors and as such is unsuitable for even a reference document.
I have turned visibility of these components off and on without resolution. I have turned on tangent and interference edges without resolution.
I have translated a copy to ACAD to see if it's simply graphical but the ACAD file shows the same errors. I have checked parallel and perpendicularity and all is well.

I have custom profiles (created in ProfileMaker 5.0.10) for 9 Canon iPF5100/6100/8300 printers installed on my Mac OS X 10.6.8 MacPro. All worked fine using CS5 and CS5.5. They are Printer(X)-(Paper Type).After installing CS6 the Photoshop print dialogue Profile list doesn't show these profiles any more.
I've confirmed that the profiles are there and are working fine by running the CS5.5 versions of PS but they won't show up in the CS6 PS Print Profile menu. They also appear and work in the CS6 PS Soft Proofing dialogue.A question similar to this appeared in the PS CS6 beta forum, but was never answered.
I'm using iLogic to build a configurator and everything is working perfectly if I have all the componets available.
However, is there a way to use iLogic in this example:
Assume I have a bolt, nut and washer in an assembly based on 1/2" sizes. I then change the sizes to 1", the bolt and nut update to 1" but I do not have a washer modeled for 1". Is there a way to use iLogic to report that the washer is not available without causing an error or only updating the bolt and nut and ignoring the washer.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from 3.5 to 3.6 this morning and now 3/4 of my photo's show as gray boxes in the panel at the bottom of the screen. I click on the little question mark near the box and it tells me that the photo is missing. the box next to the question mark tells me the previos location and asks me if I want to locate it. This is new as of the upgrade. What should I do? This is happening with a couple thousand photographs.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn Illustrator CS4, I could select a path, click into the stroke weight selector on the Control Bar, and be presented with 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, and then 1 - 40. From the keyboard I could use the up/down arrows to move among each of these options. I found this handy because 0.5px and 0.25px are the line weights I most often use.
Ever since I upgraded to Illustrator CS5, the sub- 1px options in this selector have disappeared.
I've edited the default graphic style, to no avail. And yes, I have unchecked everything I know of with regard to "snap to pixel grid". I doubt that would be the problem anyway, because I am able to type "0.25px" and get a 0.25px weighted line. Which is what I have been doing ever since the upgrade. But I am annoyed at having to do it this way and the thousands of microscopic frustrations over the months have gradually accumulated into an ulcer and a disturbing addiction to prescription dandruff shampoos.
Did Adobe remove this from CS5 for the hell of it, or am I missing something obvious?
I plan on getting a larger storage device for my Mac to accomadate my growing image files. When I install this device, and transfer my images to it, will Lightroom show these images as "missing"? If so, how would I correct that.

Some files must have gotten corrupted because I can't open the program without reintalling. It says, "Some of the application components are missing from the application directory. Please reinstall the application." I have the serial number and all and I registered the product. Is there somewhere I can download a new copy to install?

Many of my existing customer files require those fonts for use in their logos...etc. I also went to myfonts as indicated and did not see them there.
View 2 Replies View Related it crashes all the time. Currently, my issue is on my laptop. I have deadlines and it crashes at least 5-10 times per hour. Nearly every time I try to "save as" it will crash. This isn't specific to one file. The same crash happens when I try to open new files many times.
This also isn't just in Photoshop. It happens in In-Design, Illustrator, and Premiere as well. I'm sure if I was working on projects in the other CC programs, the same would happen. WHAT HAS CHANGED TO CAUSE THIS? There is never an error message.
What can I do to get this fixed?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe crashing started with the Retina update for Photoshop and Illustrator. At first the occasional crash happend, but now it's doing it litreally every 2 minutes! I don't think its a problem with my system since the issue started as soon as I got the Retina update and I've had no issues prior. I have the 2.3GHz Intel Core i7, 8GB 1600MHz RAM, Retina Macbook Pro with OS X version 10.8.2. I'm not sure if all of the Adobe applications are affected, but I know Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAnything edited in photoshop appears different when viewed in another application. For example, I edit a photo in CS3, and then view it in Firefox - it is muted, the colors are drab examples of the bright hues displayed in Photoshop. If I bring anything done in photoshop into The Gimp, Polyview, or anything else I can think of, they all look identical in those other apps, they only appear different when compared against what an image looks like in Photoshop. I first noticed when uploading an image to Flickr, it looked great in Photoshop, and dramatically drab when uploaded. I then started doing some investigative work and discovered the system wide behavior. I'm a little stumped. Similarly, anything created in Gimp brought into CS3 looks different, it appears darker in CS3.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using PSE 10 for a while on my OX S Mac. Processor 2.4 GHz intel core 2 duo, Memory 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, software 10.8.2.
It was not slow before but know it freezes up so much that it becomes nearly inoperable. I checked my memory and I have plenty of space. I shut down all the other applications. I boosted up the amount of RAM PSE can use. I decreased the amount of undo states PSE can keep. But even with all that, it still was slow. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and that didn't fix the problem either.
I can cut and paste within Photoshop CC, but can't paste to Illustrator CC or Word; clipboard appears to be empty. Everything works fine with PS CS6.
