Illustrator :: Keyboard Shortcut To Switch Between Workspace Elements In Application Framework
Nov 15, 2010
I'm working with Illustrator CS5 and was looking for the keyboard shortcut to move between the workspace elements contained within the Application framework.
Coming from Fireworks / Illustrator, Photoshop's layers slow down the workflow when selecting something on another layer. If I could switch layers (i.e. select the next/previous layer) with a keyboard shortcut, that might help. I've looked through the shortcuts and the best I can find is "move layer", but I don't want to alter the document.
I have Gimp 2.8 and I am using Single-Window Mode. I have about 15 images open at the same time and I am doing repetitive tasks on each of them. I made keyboard shortcuts to do the tasks themselves but I still have to use my mouse to go up and click the next tab to start work on the next image. It would save time if there were a keyboard shortcut. I see that under the Windows menu I can use Alt+1 through Alt+0 to select any of the first 10 images, but I have 15 open.
I wanted to know if there is a keyboard shortcut to just switch to the next tab or the previous tab.
When using the magic wand tool, I would like to be able to switch between contiguous and non contiguous using a keyboard shortcut, is it possible to assign a shortcut?
I've created a deployment for AutoCAD2011 x64 to be installed via SCCM. I've followed the instructions to create an SCCM package that were provided on the support website, as well as what comes on the CD. While I'm able to create the install and deliver the package, I get an error when trying to launch the shortcut (AutoCAD 2011 - English).
The error is a Microsoft .NET Framework error that states:"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.Access to the path 'C:Program Files Autodesk AutoCAD 2011Migration' is denied.
I went to check on the folder security and realize that the Migration folder doesn't exist.
I did this for CS6 but am at a loss for how to do it in CC.
I'm on a Mac and want my workspace to have a solid background instead of being able to see through it onto my desktop; similar to what you would see when first openning Illustrator on a Windows PC. Doing this also adds the minimize, close, etc. buttons to the header.
When I click in the shortcut (now covered with a shield icon) the programme starts, fails to fully boot and dissapears. Subsequent efforts to start then do not even try to boot.
I find myself typing quite a bit of text that has the ® and ™. Many times the font, when it has that typed, is too big, so I have to use the type panel with the flyout menu to then change the character to superscript. In InDesign there is a keyboard shortcut for this. Is there ANY way to do the same thing in Illustrator?
I have an extensive drawing that covers many art boards. In InDesign I can jump to a page number using a keyboard shortcut. Is there something similar in Illustrator CC where I can navigate backwards and forwards through the art boards and/or jump directly to an artboard by number?
I need a fast method (Keyboard shortcut) to change stroke color to a specific color. Since I need to set it always to the same color. I'd like to skip the procedure of having to repeatedly pick red from the palette and simply have red chosen automatically using one click only. I tried recording an action, hoping I would later be able to assign it a shortcut but oddly when an action that records the setting of stroke color is played, it sets the FILL color to that choice color and instead of setting the stroke color (with which it was recorded).
so naturally our keyboard layouts are Danish. But there's a fantastic shortcut in Illustrator, that only works with the English layout. Basically - make a square and place a pattern in it. If you rotate the box using 'R' you rotate the entire box and the pattern. But if you hold the 'button next to 1' (tilde in some parts of the world, console in other parts) and then press 'R' it will only rotate the pattern and not the box.
However, that only works with the English layout.. what is the name of that function, so I can set up the shortcut manually or change the keys needed for the shortcut?
Is there a way to disable the keyboard shortcut which opens Adobe Bridge from Illustrator? Often when I'm working quickly I accidentally hit this (option command o) instead of (shift command o) to outline type. It halts everything to open Bridge, which I never use. Is there any way to disable this command?
In Illustrator CS6 I established a keyboard shortcut of Alt+Shift+Ctrl+= to the command Type-->Change Case-->UPPERCASE (and Alt+Shift+Ctrl+- to Type-->Change Case-->Title Case). In Illustrator CC, these two keyboard shortcuts are not working. They are displaying in the Type menu correctly, and the menu commands themselves work correctly, but the shortcuts do not work.
Is there a way to add a keyboard shortcut or marking menu shortcut for visibility? It would be really convenient to be able to shift-click several objects and toggle the visibility of them. I have a mouse with numerous buttons that are mapped to commonly used IV features, but I cannot find a way to map a visibility toggle.
when using keyboard short cuts to swap between tools ps cs6 now defaults to only a "temporary switch" i.e. it reverts back to the previously selected tool imediatly after I release the key. I can not get the tool to stick on the new selection unless I use the mouse to manually select the new tool.
How do I stop this from happening? I want to use short cuts to switch between tools and have it stick.
I have looked else where in the forums and have not found a solution that has worked. Checked that my keyboard is in the proper language, reinstalled photoshop, and double checked every setting I can think of, all to no avail.
This is a new problem, I have not made any recent hardware changes, everything had worked fine until today.
So I opened InDesign CS4 have had the following problems:
1) My workspace tools disappeared. I can add them back manually through the window menu though. 2) My Keyboard shortcuts don't work. Even the delete button or arrow buttons don't work. I can however still type in a text box in indesign. 3) The en_GB and en_US folders are empty in the folder <user>/AppData>Roaming>Adobe>Indesign>Version 6.0
Have I checked forums that talk about going into program files, however Indesign or the other products in the suite don't list via my program files only photoshop does.
i set up the w key in my pgp file for a shortcut for wblocking (i only have 1 pgp file on my work station) it saved fine however, when i press the W key i get the workspace dialog box not a wblock dialog box any clue as to why the pgp file shortcut isnt working loading and how can i disable or change the workspace dialog from the W key
I'm currently using Win2000 and photoshop CS. When I'm going to use shortcut, there is no response at all. After I check the keyboard shortcut preferences, it's normal. What's wrong with my computer?
