i set up the w key in my pgp file for a shortcut for wblocking (i only have 1 pgp file on my work station) it saved fine however, when i press the W key i get the workspace dialog box not a wblock dialog box any clue as to why the pgp file shortcut isnt working loading and how can i disable or change the workspace dialog from the W key

The escape key does not close this dialog box, so I have to stop and click on the X to close it. I want to disable the "g" shortcut key. How do I do that?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the earlier versions of acad the "ctrl-w" toggled object snap tracking on or off, but in 2012 it is changed to Selection Cycling on or off. This is quite irritating, because I got used to toggle object snap tracking with it and still automatically use it for that purpose. But I tried my best in the user interface to find it and change it or even disable it. But can't seem to find it anywhere or change it for that matter.

On the pc, you can go to options where it is there. I can't find the options for a mac.
It keeps messing with my workflow as I use the backspace a lot and the help key (Mac) is really easy to press. Keeps opening my browser which is not a good idea when you're working huge images and you're on a schedule.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded a user to Autodesk Building Design Suite Premium 2013 but AutoCad 2013 and AutoCad MEP 2013 are not saving settings.
On first use the crosshair is large and angled, not standard. If I run "Rest values to default" then the settings are standard until I either restart AutoCAD or open a drawing then have the same strange cross hair.
Have tried creating a new profile, setting it as default startup profile by altering the shortcut but no matter what settings are not saved and revert to strange cross hair once AutoCAD is re-opened or a drawing is opening.If logon to computer as a user without a roaming profile all works fine.
In my workspace I have loaded pull down menu's, and I have saved my workspace in workspace settings.
But every time I close AutCAD and re-open it again, the pull down menu's disappear!! Is there a setting.
looking to do shop drawings for electric showing pipe runs, i saw a video and  a guy had "electric" and "plumbing" workspaces down along the bottom, my autocad doesn't have.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have installed AutoCAD 2013 and Inventor and here is my problem. This versions of AutoCAD crashes a lot, usually related to making pdf's, but that, while problematic in itself, is a secondary issue and not the reason for my email. When it crashes, it rests all my custom work place settings, even after I have saved and locked them. Restarting AutoCAD takes a few minutes, but this is VERY annoying and time consuming to reset everything everytime this crashes.  I have never encountered this problem with previous versions of CAD.

note that I am not looking for how to flatten existing drawing, I am looking for how to set the Z value default =0

We are launching Autocad 2014 in a multiuser environment and trying to determine how to stop the WELCOME screen from appearing.
The /nologo switch is for a different screen. Need per user or prefer per computer registry setting to turn off the Welcome Screen.
Thought it was InfoCenteron key,set to 0, but that was not it.
Thought it might be MC3 key, but not there either.
If it would be possible to disable the hatch previewing in AutoCad 2013 when you are creating it by clicking internal points, because it makes really slow the hatching work for my machine and sometimes i have to close AutoCad because it freezes.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe model space orientation is different than the paper space orientation (I have my viewport rotated) but whenever I am working in paper space and double-click inside model space to activate the viewport, it resets/reorients the view to match the orientation in model space. It also changes the scale. If I lock the viewport and then double-click inside to activate model space it does not change.
I don't want to always have my viewports locked to work on them in paper space.
I am trying to go from the 3D Modeling workspace to the 2D workspace without the XYZ coordinate gizmo on the drawing screen (just want to see the XY ucs) to work in 2D format.

I tried changing the double click speed in my mouse settings but that didn't work. I feel like there should be something in the shortcut settings I can change?

We will alter the Arch Base CAD file layer colors to a muted color for use as our backgorounds. We would sort the Layers by color, so that we could group them together to one base color, so basically layer colors 10-19 would then become 19, 20-29 would be 29, layer colors 30-39 would be 39, etc... If the colors were one of the 9 Base Colors (Red, Yellow, Green...) Red is effectivly the same as color as 10, so then we would make it 19, etc...
In 2007, even thought the sorting was by layer color, the layers rows would remain in the same location until we applied the changes.  But in 2013, if we sort by color then alter the color, the layer row will automatically be re-sorted to its proper position in comparison to all other colors. OK I get that, but, if we are altering 40, 50, 60 layer colors, that auto re-sorting is annoying, because then we need to rescroll to our last location to continue.
So, is there a way to turn off the re-sort until we APPLY the colors.
I am running 2013 Autocad and have 2 keys set up as a shortcut to Control+C for my Copy and Control+V for my Paste....Use it all the time
I have this setup on my control panel of computor keyboard and shows up on my custom files
Last week Paste Quit working....does not recognize any imput.....Copy is still there
Both work fine if using the 2012 Autocad or doing excel sheet.... or anything else
I'm used to have the "Enter" and "Repeat Last Command" on the right mouse button. I want to use the shortcut menu on any other free mouse button (I have Logitech Performance MX mouse).
Is there a way to remap the shortcut menu?
