AutoCAD 2013 :: How To View Files In TopSurv 8
Oct 19, 2012I have imported lines from AutoCAD 2000 format (2000 is the required format) but they do not display on the FC200.
It says "IMPORTED" and the layer state says "STATUS: Background only" but the drawing information is not visible.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: 2013 / Changing TOP View To TOP-Front View For 2 Overlapped Points
Sep 23, 2013I created 8 points (4 locations with 2 depths in each location) in the DWG of my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 project. I grouped these 8 points into 2 Point Groups: Point Group 1-high depth has Points #1, #3, #5, #7, and Point Group 2-low depth has #2, #4, #6, #8. I changed the 2D Wireframe to 3D Wireframe and on TOP view I saw Point Group 1 is on the top of Point Group 2 (because the 2 Point Groups have the same values of X- and Y-coordinates with different Z(elevation) value - see the first attached file. How can I change the TOP view to the TOP-FRONT view by using some Command to get this fixed TOP-Front view thar has the good separation of the 2 depths as shown in the second attached file?

Jun 18, 2013I am trying to create a layout view using the view manager in paperspace. Whenever i click on define window, it does not record any information no matter where i click. If i do the same task in model space, it accepts the window i select. I am currently using civil 3d 2013 with the latest updates.

May 16, 2012i have a template, created a viewport and fit the model view in the layout space. However, when i scale the template... the viewport model doesn't follows the layout scale. Is there any ways to fit it so that when i scale the template i don't have to set the view again.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Plan View Drawings In Elevation View
Jun 27, 2012I am trying to insert blocks into my drawings and for the most part I have been successful using Design Center. However, I have difficulties turning some of those blocks from the Plan View into the Elevation View, even when they show as elevation blocks. Even the downloads that show as 3-D end up being inserted as 2-D in plan view. In floor plan mode, I have no problem; so how do I turn them into 2-D in elevation mode?

Jul 14, 2012We recently updated all of our software at my company from 2010 architectural desktop to 2013 autocad. We do a lot of architectural work where we use the "wall" functions to draw our floorplans. I have noticed that the walls are disappearing on some files and not on others. Or we will only be able to see the outside line of the wall, but not the interior, which results in an undesirable appearance to the floorplans.
I have also run across these error messages when opening the files, I dont know if they are related or not:
"Unhandled exception C0000005 (access violation reading 0xffffffff) at address E43AA180h"
and
"Unhandled exception C0000005 (access violation reading 0xffffffff) at address D41218AEh"

After hitting "regen" command several times, the 3D view types finally appear but are not even accurate - "Shades of Gray" is showing as "Sketchy", etc.

Jul 27, 2012The Architect posted a drawing that I must print in 2012 format (she forgot to save to 2004). I have tried 6 machines in our office this morning, attempting to get True View 2013 to run. The exact same error problem that plagued my attempts to use True View 2012 are occurring. True View says .NET 4.0 isn't installed. The problem is, that it is installed and running correctly. In two of the machines I went through the repair process of .NET 4.0 to see if there was a problem. There wasn't, no change; True View still errored out before installing. Is this a problem with buggy software? Are there any other options open to me? I don't know why they stopped updating True Convert. It was far superior and not full of programming/install bugs.

May 21, 2012I have Product Design Suite Premium 2013. In this, the AutoCAD program (with Mechanical loaded or not) at times has an error with a file where the View Cube will move with the zooming (gets larger and smaller) and panning (moves around screent), until I regen (goes back to original position). In addition when it moves, it no longer functions (even if I attempt to click on the screen where it should stay). This is getting quite annoying, because I can't seem to discover the cause. Some CAD files were corrupt, others were not. I just updated the video card driver (ATI Radeon HD 5970 1gb DDR 5), it has no effect.

I can use layouts tabs, I can change the background color to same as model tab and all its ok.
However I'm unable to set scale to have text and annotation with a "human" size (that is, thinking on my screen and not on the paper).
Maybe this is a newbie question but I'm lost....
What is what I must to set ? I dont want to use layout to print, but to view my drawing with custom layer settings.

AutoCad :: DWG True View 2013 - Exporting To PDF Or DWF
Feb 21, 2013I am trying to create a pdf file from a dwg file, using DWG True View 2013. I am NOT a CAD user, so all of the terms are new to me. I read that sometimes it's better to convert the DWG to DWF first and then convert it to PDF. So, I tried 'export' to DWF after trying 'export' to PDF. In both cases, after pressing SAVE, I tried to find the new file and couldn't. Basically, I am trying to print out a DWG file (that is in color), so when I print the DWG directly, you can't see the lines very well. That's why I'm trying to convert it to a pdf first.

The "Model Viewports" are on the navigation bar (the one at the top) but are grayed out and thus unusable and the typical "Viewports" menu from my AutoCAD 2011 (last version I had/used) is not there. I can open the viewports menu from toolbars but am unable to dock it into the navigation bar.
