View 7 RepliesI have a drawing that I've been working off and on now for a couple of months and is particularly large (48MB). I have finally put togther a concept in it which took me two days and when I tried to RENDER, AutoCad crashed. All is still when until I tried to reopen the drawing, AutoCad loaded the drawing until 99% and froze. I tried the .bak and that crashed AutoCad. I also tried the .bak from an hour earlier and that didn't work. Here are the steps I've taken so far:
-Opened drawing and .bak(s) in TrueView, converted to Standard, Opened the drawing in TrueView (no problems) and tried to open in AutoCad....same old issues.
-Tried inserting drawing as a block in a new drawing (crashed AutoCad)
What I can do? Everything opens fine in Trueview?? I can resort to older files but that would be difficult. Below are my computer specs.
Intel i7 980X Extreme
GeForce 460GTX SLI x 2
PC3-10700 12GB
Windows 7 64bit Pro
AutoCad 2011
I want to run a macro from a keyboard shortcut like I have been doing in the last several releases of Inventor. I can set the shortcut and it works. If I close/restart Inventor, the shortcut is lost.

PremierePro CS6 was working fine until I updated an unrelated dll file for another (audio editing) program.
The file is a VST: Kontakt 5 8out.dll (Native Instruments).
Although PremierePro is suppose to be able to use 3rd party VSTs they usually crash for me so I export the audio, edit it, then reimport it.
How can I start PPro bypassing all plugins, then disable them?
Computer Specs:
Dell Dimension 3000
Windows XP (SP3)
750 MB of RAM
Pentium 4 (2.80 GHZ)
40 GB HD / 20 GB Available
** Security patches up-to-date.
Illustrator Version:
CS4 v14.0.0
When I am go to "File > Print" the print screen begins to load and then completely freezes. The default printer is set to "Brother GT-541". This is a digital garment inkjet printer. If I switch the default printer to something else, the print screen will load without issue. If I then change the destination printer in the drop-down menu to "Brother GT-541" it will freeze. Once Illustrator is frozen, I need to force quit in order to get back into Illustrator.
I contacted the company we purchased the Brother GT-541 from - to see if they were aware of any issues. There were none - but they explained that they have no customers who use CS4, most all of them use CS3 or prior. They advised that I update the Brother GT-541 printer driver, which I did - and it turned out to be no luck.
My AutoCAD 2012 freezes every time when I do hatching. It doesnt matterthe size of the drawing nor the type of hatch I use.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy AutoCAD 2012 freezes almost evertime when I do hatching. It doesnt matter the size of the drawing nor the type of hatch i use. It freezes while I try to pick boundary points. When it freezes, I cant even move the curser. I need to restart it from the hub.
What could be the issue? Whats spec on my computer do I need maybe?
Also with the Recovery Management, it takes like forever to try and recover a drawing.
I have a problem that the software is not responding and freezing when creating new drawing or opening another one.
I have windows 7 64 bit Operating system installed on workstation Dell Machine
I look to a lot of discussion and I tried the mentioned ways but still same issue
FYI, this software was working fine with windows XP machine.
I just upgraded from Autocad LT to Autocad 2012 (full version). When I go to select a hatch pattern by left clicking on it the program locks up. Then I have to "force-close" Autocad 2012 and loose some of my work. It has done this in several diferent drawings. Autocad LT does not have this problem.
I have a HP Z workstation with 6 gigs of ram and an Intel I-5 processor (very fast machine) with a quadro fx 380 grahics card.
I tried reinstalling Autocad 2012 and that didn't work. Not sure what to do.
I have a project with over 20 models that were all upgraded from Revit 2012 to Revit 2014. Once upgraded, I was able to reload all the Revit links and see these links in views, as I should. Later the same day, when opening a new local file, I am unable to open a view after loading a link without Revit freezing. Not crashing, but freezing... the application says "Not Responding", the memory allocation is unchanged in the Window's processes, and the journal file is no longer being written to. I thought maybe this is just taking a long time to process, but 1) it didn't take this long to open the view with the loaded link when it was first successful, and 2) I've left it for hours without change.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhy our copies of AutoCAD MEP 2012 seem to hang when loading the default dwt files? On the splash screen it details all the files being loaded and when it gets to the dwt file it just hangs at 0%. In the windows task manager, acad.exe stops using memory (around 90megs) and the cpu stops too. It's get's really frustrating, especially as it only seems to affect our new Dell Optiplex's and a couple of our old Dell Precisions. Some of them work first time every time, no probs. All PC's are Windows 7 Pro 64bit and running the latest service packs for AutoCAD.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Content Center Add-In is not loading in Inventor Pro 2012. It's listed as unloaded in the Add-In manager (see below), and, of course, "Place from Content Center" isn't shown as an option on any of the menus. If I double-click on Centent Center in the Add-In Manager, the word "Unloaded" changes to "Loaded" and I don't get any errors. It looks like it should have loaded fine. But then if I close the Add-In Manager and open it again, it has gone back to "Unloaded". I haven't found anything that can restore the Content Center functionality.
I have installed Inventor Pro 2013, and this could have been around when the Inventor 2012 Content Center broke. I'm not positive about the timing... If I start Inv 2013, the Content Center works fine in it.
What to do before uninstalling 2013 and/or reinstalling 2012?
When I try open AutoCad, at first it loads fine, doing all the pulg ins and that, then just stops.
The text in the corner just says "Loading", and I've left it for hours an it really isn't.
We have 13 machines that are identical hardware and software; Windows 7 and the Autodesk Product Design Suite 2012 as well as the Vault 2012 Client. Two of these machines are exhibiting the following behavior: Connected to our LAN with access to the internet not loading Vault on startup Inventor loads in 68 seconds.Disconnected from our LAN with no access to the internet not loading Vault on startup Inventor loads in <10 seconds. I have tested this with our AV turned on and off with no changes in the above noted behavior. These two machines loaded Inventor 2011 in repsectable times ~<30 seconds.
Now this tells me that when Inventor is loading it is trying to go somewhere when there is a network connection. But where and what can I do to make it stop?
I recently loaded several versions of AutoCAD on to a Windows 7 machine. ALL versions will open a drawing if double-clicked from windows explorer, but if I try to open through AutoCAD, the program freezes as soon as I click on the "Open" button. This is true for AutoCAD 2010 through 2012.
Machine Specs:
Dell Optiplex 990
250GB HD
8GB Ram
I7-2600 proc
AMD Radeon HD 6670 (1Gb) Video Card
I also cannot open multiple instances of ANY version of AutoCAD in Windows 7.
I have problems loading a max file. The file has several containers with external content, and it started crashing on load after I created those containers.
I tried merging the file into an empty scene, and it works if I merge everything but the containers. I also tried merging the containers alone, and that makes it crash.
I need/want to use containers, because the scene is very big, and can be quite challenging to handle. I could try using X-refs instead, but I was hoping to use containers, since it seems like a good solution in theory at least!
Loading point clouds. When you load the rcs file..I mean, you don't get a message saying it's loading. You don't get a twirling, wait for it, icon.
So then you start zooming in and out. Panning around. Clicking zoom extents.Sometimes you eventually see the point cloud appear. Sometimes you don't. I think I don't when I zoom and pan around too soon.
But I don't know when it's too soon because......NOTHING HAPPENS when you load the file.
I extract a displacement map from Mudbox 2012 that has just a simple sphere. Then in Maya 2012, I create a file node and try to load the displacement map. Maya crash.....
View 9 Replies View RelatedClients are asking for point clouds within my work and renderings now. I've been given some of their PC data files for a test. It looks like the only format you can load is RCP & RCS which appears to be the AutoDesk ReCap native format.
Is the only way to import Point Clouds into MAX to buy another software package that converts the data (amoung many other things)?
I am trying to find out if it is possible to start/load the animation based on a specific point in its timeline? The animation I am creating is a parallax animation based on mouse position and I am trying to load it in the middle of the animation and based on the users mouse position will play forward or backwards from that point.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhile using AutoCAD 2008 LDD, I was able to set my point label size so that it looked the same in Model Space and Paper Space. I have my Model Space at 1:1, and my Paper Space Viewport set at the Scale Factor as needed, 1" = 50' i.e.. I now am using Civil 3D 2012 and have a decent grasp of Point Label Styles, the problem I am having is that when using the same parameters as mentioned before, my Point Label is at the right size in Model Space, setting the height at a size comparable to the Drawing Scale, such that if the Drawing Scale within the Viewport was 1" = 60', I would set the text size 4.8, but when doing this, it makes my Point Label text size huge.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI select my objects to move, then I select my Base Point to move my objects away from, then when I select my destination point the command changes the Base Point to the selected destination point and asks me again to select a destination point.
I have realized this problem occurs not only with the move command, but also the stretch command. Also, it does not matter if I am using command modifiers or not, the problem occurs regardless. Also, it does not matter how I hit enter using the command (keyboard enter button, space bar, or right mouse button) the problem occurs regardless, and occurs entirely AT RANDOM.
Following previous what I have attempted to resolve the problem:
- remove the AutoCAD LT 2012 from the computer entirely and re-install
- installed the latest LT 2012 Service Pack
- changed the mouse to a new, wired mouse (I was already using a wired mouse in the first place)
- change the keyboard (which I think is irrelevant since changing the mouse did not work either)
I'm using civil 3D 2012 for 2 weeks now. When I create a query to include or exclude points in a specific point group I get an error. It doesn't allow me to build a query with decimal number but only with natural number.
Everything was fine with my old civil 3D 2011.
The problem is with civil 3D 2012? or maybe their is a magic switch somewhere to allow me to use decimal number?
I've had problems with Photoshop CS6 freezing on me and giving me RAM and Scratch Disk alerts/warnings ever since I upgraded to Windows 8. This usually only happens when I work with large files, however once I work with a large file, I can't seem to work with any file at all that day.
Today however I have received my first error in which Photoshop says that it has stopped working. The log info is as follows:

We have a custom-made sheet metal punch consisting of a 5x5 matrix of 1/8" holes. We export flat patterns from Inventor as DXFs.
We normally make DXFs by creating a view of the flat pattern on a blank IDW template (no border, no title block, nothing) and export that view as a DXF. This lets us orient the view at will, unlike right-clicking on the flat pattern in the browser and selecting Save Copy As.
When the sheet metal guy assigns tooling in his software, he needs to get each punch to "lock onto" the corresponding feature in the DXF. Normally this isn't a problem, but it has been with this gang punch. The center hole of the punch needs to lock onto the correct hole in the DXF, and it can't always seem to do it. I've sat alongside the guy as he does this, and in his software the centers of the circles show up as dots/points. But on this punch, there isn't necessarily a dot in the center of every circle, and it's possible that the center hole, which really needs the dot, won't have one.
I've come up with a workaround for this: a work point in the IPT. In the attached part, it's feature Tooling1. The sheet metal guy confirms that if I include the work point in the DXF as a point (in the AutoCAD sense), he can lock onto it. However, I find that if I generate a DXF from the flat-pattern IDW, the point is lost. If I generate an ACAD DWG from the IDW and save the DWG as a DXF, the point comes through in the DXF. But that's an extra step.
Is there a way to export directly from IDW to DXF and not lose the work point? Or is this as good as it gets?
For the sake of simplicity, the attached part has no bends. I realize that if I did, I'd have to re-create the points in the flat pattern, but that's another discussion.
For the past week, my LR5.3 has been hanging when I am importing pictures, adding pictures to the Library or Exporting timelapse. Does caching directory have anything to do with it? is there a way to test the issue?
View 3 Replies View Relatedstarted a new job after being out of the biz for a couple of years and would like to load some sweet dvb files that I grew accustomed to in my prior life. I can appload my .lsp files with the the best of them but these dang dvb's have me wishin' they were .lsp! The dvb's were at one time lisp routines but were turned into dvbs by a power user somewhere along the line. What's my avenue for success at ever getting to use these sweeties again?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have added a few custom autocad commands that are specific to my scenario. I created Ribbon (and Menu for classic mode) for these commands and they are working fine. The only issue is that these Buttons (Ribbon and Menu for classic mode) are not loading the images(icons). All I get is a cloud image for both commands.
I have used 16X16 for small image and 32X32 for large image. Both are bmp files. These are attached to the custom Autocad command that I am using. The commands themselves are working fine, except for the image which is not displayed. In short, what can be the possible reason for images not showing up?
