I'm having a problem with everytime i try to use the copy,move or rotate command on my autocad 2012 i ended up with a delay and if i click the mouse it freezes and then say autocad not responding then it shots down.
View 2 RepliesI have a drawing that I've been working off and on now for a couple of months and is particularly large (48MB). I have finally put togther a concept in it which took me two days and when I tried to RENDER, AutoCad crashed. All is still when until I tried to reopen the drawing, AutoCad loaded the drawing until 99% and froze. I tried the .bak and that crashed AutoCad. I also tried the .bak from an hour earlier and that didn't work. Here are the steps I've taken so far:
-Opened drawing and .bak(s) in TrueView, converted to Standard, Opened the drawing in TrueView (no problems) and tried to open in AutoCad....same old issues.
-Tried inserting drawing as a block in a new drawing (crashed AutoCad)
What I can do? Everything opens fine in Trueview?? I can resort to older files but that would be difficult. Below are my computer specs.

I recently loaded several versions of AutoCAD on to a Windows 7 machine. ALL versions will open a drawing if double-clicked from windows explorer, but if I try to open through AutoCAD, the program freezes as soon as I click on the "Open" button. This is true for AutoCAD 2010 through 2012.

I also cannot open multiple instances of ANY version of AutoCAD in Windows 7.
My AutoCAD 2012 freezes almost evertime when I do hatching. It doesnt matter the size of the drawing nor the type of hatch i use. It freezes while I try to pick boundary points. When it freezes, I cant even move the curser. I need to restart it from the hub.
What could be the issue? Whats spec on my computer do I need maybe?
Also with the Recovery Management, it takes like forever to try and recover a drawing.
I have a problem that the software is not responding and freezing when creating new drawing or opening another one.

FYI, this software was working fine with windows XP machine.
I just upgraded from Autocad LT to Autocad 2012 (full version). When I go to select a hatch pattern by left clicking on it the program locks up. Then I have to "force-close" Autocad 2012 and loose some of my work. It has done this in several diferent drawings. Autocad LT does not have this problem.
I have a HP Z workstation with 6 gigs of ram and an Intel I-5 processor (very fast machine) with a quadro fx 380 grahics card.
I tried reinstalling Autocad 2012 and that didn't work. Not sure what to do.
My company just got new computers, I've loaded 2012 SP1 and our lisp comands on every machine. After a plot, when someone goes to save and close the drawing, AutoCAD crashes. It does not matter which plot device is used, the result is the same. This includes the plot devices included in AutoCAD. I have reinstalled autocad on one machine, no lisp commands, same result. I have already tried some of the fixes proposed in other threads, nothing has worked.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the student version of AutoCAD 2012 on an HP laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium OS. I originally installed AutoCAD in June of 2012. It worked fine for 9 or 10 months but now whenever I select File/Open, File/Save, or File/Save As, AutoCAD stops responding and the spinning blue donut appears. AutoCAD never comes back and I have to close it from Task Manager. I uninstalled AutoCAD and reinstalled it, and the process went smoothly. However I still have exactly the same problem with the File operations. I apply Windows updates, but other than that have not made any changes to the software on the laptop. AutoCAD works fine for everything except the File operations. I am able to save with CTL/S and am able to open AutoCAD files from File Manager.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI experienced this issue with Gimp 2.6 whenever I had a lot of brushes in the brush folder. The only way I found to avoid the problem was to have less brushes in it. As a result, I never got to really use all of them like I had intended to.
The current version I'm using is 2.8. I updated Gimp because I saw the tagging system. I figured it'd be easier to locate the brushes I want to use. The program worked fine up until I added more folders to the brush folder to take advantage of the tagging system. Now the start-up freezes and crashes when it's updating the tagging cache.
In general, Gimp seems to get mad at me when I add a crap ton more than it's comfortable with.
I am running LT 2012 and it keeps freezing at the Loading customiztion files point... This locks the whole pc and I need to do a hard reset.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a project with over 20 models that were all upgraded from Revit 2012 to Revit 2014. Once upgraded, I was able to reload all the Revit links and see these links in views, as I should. Later the same day, when opening a new local file, I am unable to open a view after loading a link without Revit freezing. Not crashing, but freezing... the application says "Not Responding", the memory allocation is unchanged in the Window's processes, and the journal file is no longer being written to. I thought maybe this is just taking a long time to process, but 1) it didn't take this long to open the view with the loaded link when it was first successful, and 2) I've left it for hours without change.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed Autocad 2012 LT on Windows XP sp3. The program opened and worked fine after the install. The user was not sure they wanted this version so I did not activate the program right away. After the user decided they wanted to keep this version I activated the program with a license and now the program will not open. Crashes and does not give an error message.
I have tried to uninstall and re-install. I uninstalled netframework 3.5 sp1 and re-installed, still will not open.
I posted a while ago as my AutoCAD 2012 keeps crashing when I try to save as. Well it doesn't crash as such it just freezes until I press ESC. I've also noticed it does this when I select LAYDEL.

I had windows 8 beta on an older asus laptop and civil 3d work there normally. Then I upgraded it to win 8 and it started crashing like described.Today i bought that new asus n56vz with windows 8 and it is crashing.
I just installed Civil 3D 2012 64 bit on a new computer running Windows 8. It starts up fine, but when I pull up a drawing, about 1 or 2 minutes later, the program shuts down and I have to restart Civil 3D. I've pulled up several different drawings from different sources, and it does the same thing. First, a window pops up for a split second, and I can't read the contents of the window. Then, I get the window that says Civil 3D is shutting down.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to query some mapdata from a NAD27 drawing to a NAD83 drawing and when I do a quick view or a query, Map3D 2012 ( a new installation on Windows 7) crashes. I have the NTV2_0.GSB in the c:ProgramDataAutodeskGeospatial Coordinate SystemCanada directory and have edited the NAD27toNAD83.gdc file accordingly but to no avail.
This setup has been working on my previous Map installations (Map3D 2007 on XP, Map3D 2010 on XP & Map3D 2010 on Windows 7) so I know I have working configuration files.
In AutoCAD, I can go on the tray menu and select the scale list and select custon scales. I get the entire list I created and able to make and delete scales.
When I do the exact same thing in AutoCAD Civil 3D, it freezes up and won't let me do anyting, I then hit esc and I can start working in the drawing again.

I have just loaded the student version of AutoCAD 2012 onto my brand new HP Pavilion Notebook which has 8 GB of memory - Processor AMD A8-3530MX with HP Graphics 1.90 GHz - running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
I have created a file in Adobe Illustrator which I converted to a vector image and exported it to AutoCAD. I have loaded the image and have cleaned it up. I am now trying to re-scale it and my session keeps freezing. When I look at the task manager I see that the program is not responding. I have ended the task many times now!
I am having issues with my computer completely freezing while performing a File, Open process. I'm in drawing 1, I save it, then go to open drawing 2. Drawing 1 will save, the open file window pops up. With me so far? While navigating through the file directory tree, my computer freezes. I do not chose a file that freezes during opening. It is during the process of getting to the folder drawing 2 resides in, and then it freezes. This happens to me multiple times a day. Ctrl +Alt+Delete will not work. I have tried letting my computer sit, as you would with a program not responding, and it doesn't unfreeze. The only option I am left with is a hard reboot. The only other program I have running is my MS Outlook.
I have been back and forth with our IT person, and because he can't replicate the problem (after trying one file open), he can't figure it out, or doesn't want to.
I am running AutoCad 2012 with a Dell Precision T3500, 2.13ghz, intell xenon E5506 processor, and 4gb of RAM. After looking at the system requirements, and reading that 2012 needs a 3.0 or higher processor, could this be the route of my issue?
Is this supported by Autodesk, and will installing both products create any issues?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo 2011 had some issue and I though 2012 would get those fixed. I was wrong. More problems occur. With 2011 I was able to open assemblies directly through vault. Now with 2012, since the vault issue updates as it opens, I crash on any sizeable model or assembly. So now just to open a file, I must get it, then go to inventor and open it, and hit no when the refresh window come up. If I hit yes, it crashes. If I hit no it open, then if i hit local/global update it crashes. So technically I cant do any new work with any of my larger assemblies (2000+ parts) I have sent out numerous error reposrt, only for autodesk to say that they can replicate the problem. I have SP1 installed, and this is happening with other users at my company as well.

The video pretty much explains it. Randomly when I move the pivot (d) and snap to point (v) it crashes on mouse release. This has been happening recently more than is acceptable.
I included about 30 seconds up to the issue to show what exactly I was doing before the crash.
I'm doing a program in Visual Basic 2010. In one of the forms I put a button that when clicked must open AutoCAD 2012 and make a drawing in it. The user will decide where to save it.The steps are these:
1. I added the references Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop and Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.Common to the Visual Basic Project. That's OK.
2. I wrote this in the heading of the form's

I first installed 2012, then I realized that my class will be using 2011. I downloaded 2011, and kept my 2012, and it didn't seem like there would be any issues. So I open my 2011 and it keeps crashing before it loads completely. There are no error messages or anything ...2012 works just fine. I tried doing a repair, and a reinstall.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis happens almost evertime I go to a .ipn to update changes and save. It freezes w/ no cahnce of coming back. Two other things that is troubling me about the .ipn is that sometimes it will rearange itself w/ all the parts at 0,0,0 and or won't let me ballon any parts. After closing the file and opening it again it either does the same exact thing or takes the balloons but throws the pick points of into space......

I am just installed AutoCAD 2010 on Windows 7 (both 64-bit). There is a problem with the Page Setup Manager. When I select any of the page setup tabs, then select "modify" or even "new", the program crashes. Same things happens when I gain access to the Page Set Up Manager through the menu. . Page Manager hasn't ever worked. Update 2 is installed. I have repaired and reinstalled, and tried all again just now. There is no error message beyond "not responding" in parentheses next to name of dialogue box. The screen grays out and stays that way. Then the screen becomes shaded with the whirling aqua ring and it's all over. Control + P and plot causes the system to crash as well.

I notice this happens most often when I am editing attributes of a block, editing text (by double click or through the properties window), or printing to PDF. I am unable to shut down autocad, Windows 7 will not let me end the process in the task manager, and I have to shut off the power on my laptop to force it to shut down. On the few occasions where I got the window to close, Autocad would not re-open, the start up screen would just get stuck at Initializing..
