I posted a while ago as my AutoCAD 2012 keeps crashing when I try to save as. Well it doesn't crash as such it just freezes until I press ESC. I've also noticed it does this when I select LAYDEL.

I have the student version of AutoCAD 2012 on an HP laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium OS. I originally installed AutoCAD in June of 2012. It worked fine for 9 or 10 months but now whenever I select File/Open, File/Save, or File/Save As, AutoCAD stops responding and the spinning blue donut appears. AutoCAD never comes back and I have to close it from Task Manager. I uninstalled AutoCAD and reinstalled it, and the process went smoothly. However I still have exactly the same problem with the File operations. I apply Windows updates, but other than that have not made any changes to the software on the laptop. AutoCAD works fine for everything except the File operations. I am able to save with CTL/S and am able to open AutoCAD files from File Manager.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have installed Autocad 2012 LT on Windows XP sp3. The program opened and worked fine after the install. The user was not sure they wanted this version so I did not activate the program right away. After the user decided they wanted to keep this version I activated the program with a license and now the program will not open. Crashes and does not give an error message.
I have tried to uninstall and re-install. I uninstalled netframework 3.5 sp1 and re-installed, still will not open.
I'm having a problem with everytime i try to use the copy,move or rotate command on my autocad 2012 i ended up with a delay and if i click the mouse it freezes and then say autocad not responding then it shots down.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have windows 8 on new asus laptop N56VZ. Installed civil 3d 2013 with no problems (i see some people have problems with installing) but it doesn't work normal. It crashes every time i try to edit an alignment, old or new.
I had windows 8 beta on an older asus laptop and civil 3d work there normally. Then I upgraded it to win 8 and it started crashing like described.Today i bought that new asus n56vz with windows 8 and it is crashing.
I just installed Civil 3D 2012 64 bit on a new computer running Windows 8. It starts up fine, but when I pull up a drawing, about 1 or 2 minutes later, the program shuts down and I have to restart Civil 3D. I've pulled up several different drawings from different sources, and it does the same thing. First, a window pops up for a split second, and I can't read the contents of the window. Then, I get the window that says Civil 3D is shutting down.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy company just got new computers, I've loaded 2012 SP1 and our lisp comands on every machine. After a plot, when someone goes to save and close the drawing, AutoCAD crashes. It does not matter which plot device is used, the result is the same. This includes the plot devices included in AutoCAD. I have reinstalled autocad on one machine, no lisp commands, same result. I have already tried some of the fixes proposed in other threads, nothing has worked.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to query some mapdata from a NAD27 drawing to a NAD83 drawing and when I do a quick view or a query, Map3D 2012 ( a new installation on Windows 7) crashes. I have the NTV2_0.GSB in the c:ProgramDataAutodeskGeospatial Coordinate SystemCanada directory and have edited the NAD27toNAD83.gdc file accordingly but to no avail.
This setup has been working on my previous Map installations (Map3D 2007 on XP, Map3D 2010 on XP & Map3D 2010 on Windows 7) so I know I have working configuration files.
So 2011 had some issue and I though 2012 would get those fixed. I was wrong. More problems occur. With 2011 I was able to open assemblies directly through vault. Now with 2012, since the vault issue updates as it opens, I crash on any sizeable model or assembly. So now just to open a file, I must get it, then go to inventor and open it, and hit no when the refresh window come up. If I hit yes, it crashes. If I hit no it open, then if i hit local/global update it crashes. So technically I cant do any new work with any of my larger assemblies (2000+ parts) I have sent out numerous error reposrt, only for autodesk to say that they can replicate the problem. I have SP1 installed, and this is happening with other users at my company as well.

using ACAD LT 2012. If he opens a DWG file from a Sharepoint site, makes some changes to the drawing and then SAVES the file, his changes are NOT saved and there is no indication that they were not saved. Needless to say this is critical.

I included about 30 seconds up to the issue to show what exactly I was doing before the crash.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving trouble with AutoCAD 2012 when saving to earlier versions? I can't save it down to any other version except for 2012, without the system crashing completely. It seems to be files that have aerial xrefs in them.
Also, from time to time we get the crash when editing MText.
We have two computers running AutoCAD 2013 with Windows 7 64 bit and both crash regularly on save and close with about 2/3 of the drawing files. Typically it won't crash if I have only one drawing file open and then save and close. With more than one file open the system crashes regularly on both computers. Our service pack updates are current.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn a MacBook Pro, OSx 10.6.8. Using CS6 on .tifs, resizing the file to 600px wide - approx. 750k file - try to save for web, 80 percent quality and I get the folder screen, but it's open to "documents". Then I get spinning beachball, then CS crashes. Shuts down.
I've tried restarting, no luck. I've had this happen before and I don't remember how it got worked out. I perform this function all the time and there's nothing new in my workflow. I read in another thread about metatag conflicts, and I do process the raws in Capture One before retouching in CS6, but I've done that before without any problem.
All of the work I did and saved in AI for the past several days is gone. When I try to create a new file AI will not save any changes and crashes. I've been using CC for 9 months and it has worked great. Over the past two weeks I have had a couple of AI files that have lost everything and AI is having a problem saving anything. What do I do? I can't afford to keep losing work.

It consistently crashes on the same file, but it doesn't seem that every file is affected. I'm running cs6 on windows 7. I've tried resetting my profile and deleting temporary files (disk cleanup) to no avail.

1) When setting file type to AutoCAD dwg or dxf, Inventor has to "think" for about 30 - 45 seconds (i.e. the hourglass cursor shows up).
2) I press 'Options and Inventor "thinks" for about 30-45 seconds, but nothing happens, no DXF export wizard pops up, so I can't change any export settings..
3) If I press save anyway, I get an error message: "problems encountered while saving the document" I have tried repairing, reinstalling, and uninstalling inventor but each option fails.
I have spent most of today working on a project for work, and here I am at the end of the day going back to glance over everything when I realize that about 75% of the work I did on one of the files didn't save. I suspected I was having this problem before, so I had been meticulously saving after every edit and making sure to wait for the hourglass to go away before continuing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently my photoshop CS5 has been playing up and often when I try to save files it will freeze at the point of clicking ok and crash. Today also it crashed when I tried to open a photoshop file.This is incredibly frustrating as I'm a graphic designer and trying to complete some urgent work but I'm getting nowhere because nothing I'm doing is saving and I have to keep starting over. It's literally crashed about 40 times the past day and I'm wasting so many hours that I just don't have.
My version as mentioned is CS5 and I updated it yesterday with no avail.

I don't think I've done anything for this to start happening it just came out of nowhere..I usually only do the same few things with the program and also havn't altered files or even the computer.
trying to save PNGs. I have had it happen six times now and again after a restart of my computer. It is weird, it saves JPEG and PSD without issue but PNG's are crashing it.
I am using Photoshop CC with all updates.
Computer is a i7 3820 with 64gig RAM and a GTX 560

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to use the blob brush for the first time, but I can't seem to save my files; the programs crashes on save.
Seems very strange! I am working with CS 5 on Windows 7. i have successfully saved files that don't use the blob brush. I haven't done an exhaustive investigation into similar scenarios that might also cause a crash at save. I tested a few stable files, including renaming them. When I introduce the blob brush, the file crashes at save.
Can you save files for 2012 in 2013? I have the ability to upgrade to 2013 while others at my company are not able to, since they were not put on the subscription service. If I upgrade will they still be able to open my files or can I back save to a previous version? I know I can save it as different file type, like .iges or .step, then use feature recognition. But I need them to have full editability to sketches and features.

AutoCAD 2011 still has this funciton so have had to go back to using the earlier version.
I am using Autocad LT 2012 on Windows XP at my office computer. I Save a file in an earlier version e.g. 2004 or 2007 and email to home computer, Autocad LT 2008 on Windows Vista. The file will not open. Message is that the file has been created by a later version. THis has not been my experience with earlier versions.

I´ve been using eTransmit command in previous versions, now that I´ve switched to v2012 there´s no longer support to save all dwg xrefs as dwg references in the eTransmit popup window. My dwg xrefs are instead attached as blocks.
