I have spent most of today working on a project for work, and here I am at the end of the day going back to glance over everything when I realize that about 75% of the work I did on one of the files didn't save. I suspected I was having this problem before, so I had been meticulously saving after every edit and making sure to wait for the hourglass to go away before continuing.
View 3 RepliesI migrated from AC3D 2010 32-byte to AC3D 2012 64-byte recently. When I migrate my projects to 2012 and open the old 2010 drawings in 2012 I lose the surface lines out of my section sets. It doesn't seem to bother the profile views, only the section views.
Is there a way to work around this problem w/o having to regenerate the section views?
When I first started using CS6 I would edit my photos and when I used "save as" to save my photos then open them in a different photo viewer they would have lost a lot of color and contrast. When I reopened them in CS6 they still had no color. This is all occured on my PC. I used to use PSE 7 (on my PC) and the "save as" function to save them and they turned out fine. I recently got an iMac and when saved on there the same way and reopened in a different viewer they'd have the correct color,
but when opened on my PC the color would be lost again. Also tried opening the images I saved on my PC in CS6 on the iMac and they still had no colo/contrast. So that would mean it's not a monitor calibration thing. I'm trying to figure out how to save my photos so they have the best quality they can have for printing and also the correct color for clients to view on their computers.
PS: I did use the "save for web" option on my PC and the photos have the correct color that way! But those aren't the proper size and stuff for printing. Also I'm very new to iMac and full photoshop so I'm not sure what sizes/pixels/color modes/etc are normal or what photos are supposed to be.
I quite frequently 'lose' all my vertices on a model - I can still select them, but they are invisible; even the handles on bezier curves suffer, can still see the yellow line but the green dots are hidden.
Would it be a graphics card issue? Yes, I've got the latest drivers, but it happens on ANY machine I work on, with three different cards.
I have the student version of AutoCAD 2012 on an HP laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium OS. I originally installed AutoCAD in June of 2012. It worked fine for 9 or 10 months but now whenever I select File/Open, File/Save, or File/Save As, AutoCAD stops responding and the spinning blue donut appears. AutoCAD never comes back and I have to close it from Task Manager. I uninstalled AutoCAD and reinstalled it, and the process went smoothly. However I still have exactly the same problem with the File operations. I apply Windows updates, but other than that have not made any changes to the software on the laptop. AutoCAD works fine for everything except the File operations. I am able to save with CTL/S and am able to open AutoCAD files from File Manager.

I recently did a fresh install of PS7 and I never had this problem before. I'm thinking there is some setting I need to change, perhaps in 'Color Settings' but I don't know much about it.

Opening files in photoshop works fine, but when I save Lightroom loses the file. I have two hard drives in my laptop, a SSD with all my apps (Lightroom and photoshop) and a larger hard drive with all my catalogues and files. Lightroom thinks the edited file in photoshop is saved on the SSD instead of the storage hard drive. It gets the adress correct for the photo but it thinks the storage hard drive is a folder on the app drive.
Im running mac 10.6.8, Lightroom 4.4 and Photoshop CS6 13.0.0.

I can insert the poles via long/lat and all is great, my issue is I would like more information in those points.
For example, pole number, class, HOA, Make Ready. Currently I create a survey data store and import ASCII Points using PNE(comma delimited)
So with my Excel file (this is where I get my pole information from) I get a point/northing/easting to enter into the formatting section.
I would like to add more information to these individual points, like ploe number, class, HOA...
If I view the point table I see that there are a lot of other columns, can I use them or customize them? is there a quick tutorial on this issue?
Is there any way Lightroom 5 can save the information from my Nikon Cameras RAW file.
When I open my RAW files in Lightroom 5 all my camera settings are not saved.

I prefer using multiple catalogs rather than 1 large one, as I prefer to organize via event/date. The issue I've encountered is, that every time I create a new catalog, I have to reenter my information on the flickr plugin, and assume that all the plugins work this way. So simply, is it possible to enter the login info the 1 time, and have it load for every catalog? The other option I can explore if there is no simple fix for this issue is to edit the existing flickr plugin, the biggest issue with this however is that the 1 in SDK 5.0 is now outdated/unuseable and the plugin installed is a single file and not multiple editable lua files.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI found this error a bit strange, my colleague it trying to save a file and this error keeps on coming out (see attachments). When we try to save it, it only saves as a temp file. When we try to open up the temp file and try to save it, it still doesn't allow us to do. Also, when we cancel the save, the original file will be gone and he will lost all of his data. Below are the specs of the computer and version of the AutoCAD.
Computer: DELL Precision T5500
OS: Windows 7 Ult
AutoCAD Version: 2011
Also, we're using ProSteel Series 3 as well. We tried saving the file using ProSteel and just AutoCAD but it didn't do the trick. I've tried some options (listed below) that might get it to work but still no luck.
1. Restart the computer.
2. Repair / Reinstall AutoCAD.
3. Give permission to the folder (read from the forum).

which is actually a description that typically appears in AI files saved without PDF compatibility. It's not document-wise but rather application-wise issue because it happens even if I create a new Document, draw something in the middle of the canvas and save it. Also, all of my existing documents which used to save well before, do that now. Basically, I cannot save correctly a single PDF. But it seems that the exported documents must contain the data because they have different sizes based on the content.
There's no problem with saving in AI format.

View 9 Replies View RelatedTill X3 Photo-Paint opened and saved transparent PNGs as a seperate image with attached mask.Example:I have an image and load a B/W mask into it.
When I save this as PNG and reload it in X3, Photo-Paint displays again exactly what I have just saved:
However when I open this same PNG in X6, the image and mask get merged into a single object:
It's in effect doing automatically a "create object from selection" function and discards then the background.Why? I can't work with the full background image anymore, because the transparent parts are missing, and the mask is also gone. Is there no way to open the full PNG, without any merging and deleting of masks, just the way X3 was doing it?Also, the only way to save a transparent PNG in X6 is to check "save only selected objects"? When I don't check this, but still check "transparency" in the PNG export dialogue, then the mask won't be saved nonetheless.
When trying to Save Copy As:
1) When setting file type to AutoCAD dwg or dxf, Inventor has to "think" for about 30 - 45 seconds (i.e. the hourglass cursor shows up).
2) I press 'Options and Inventor "thinks" for about 30-45 seconds, but nothing happens, no DXF export wizard pops up, so I can't change any export settings..
3) If I press save anyway, I get an error message: "problems encountered while saving the document" I have tried repairing, reinstalling, and uninstalling inventor but each option fails.
Can you save files for 2012 in 2013? I have the ability to upgrade to 2013 while others at my company are not able to, since they were not put on the subscription service. If I upgrade will they still be able to open my files or can I back save to a previous version? I know I can save it as different file type, like .iges or .step, then use feature recognition. But I need them to have full editability to sketches and features.

AutoCAD 2011 still has this funciton so have had to go back to using the earlier version.
I am using Autocad LT 2012 on Windows XP at my office computer. I Save a file in an earlier version e.g. 2004 or 2007 and email to home computer, Autocad LT 2008 on Windows Vista. The file will not open. Message is that the file has been created by a later version. THis has not been my experience with earlier versions.

I´ve been using eTransmit command in previous versions, now that I´ve switched to v2012 there´s no longer support to save all dwg xrefs as dwg references in the eTransmit popup window. My dwg xrefs are instead attached as blocks.

I found the AutoCad 2012 and AutoCad LT 2012 SP1 Ribbon Hotfix, which sounded like my problem, but it is for Product Version F.107.0.0 and I have Product Version F.51.0.0.
I've just switched to autocad 2012, and when I'm opening dwg files it takes up to 2-3 minutes to open and save them. Autocad 2007 opens and saves the same files in mere seconds without problems.
View 9 Replies View Relatedwhy I'd get this error when doing an Export to AutoCAD 2010/2007/2004...? It seems to be innocuous, and irrelevant, but it's disturbing none-the-less. I haven't been able to identify any reason why it appears, and all drawings seem to work normally, with no problems. AUDITs turn up no errors. So I've just been ignoring this message, but it's distracting. And it doesn't always appear... although I haven't been able yet to identify what causes it to appear in some drawings, and not others. I think it only ever happens when there's an XREF, but not sure... (Maybe when an XREF is in an older version of C3D/LDD/AutoCAD...?)
