View 6 RepliesI'm having a problem with everytime i try to use the copy,move or rotate command on my autocad 2012 i ended up with a delay and if i click the mouse it freezes and then say autocad not responding then it shots down.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy company just got new computers, I've loaded 2012 SP1 and our lisp comands on every machine. After a plot, when someone goes to save and close the drawing, AutoCAD crashes. It does not matter which plot device is used, the result is the same. This includes the plot devices included in AutoCAD. I have reinstalled autocad on one machine, no lisp commands, same result. I have already tried some of the fixes proposed in other threads, nothing has worked.

I have an issue between XP 32 bit ACAD 2011 workstations and Windows 7 64 bit ACAD 2011 workstations...
1 - A Windows 7 user does a Paste Special>Paste Link>Microsoft Excel to insertembed a portion of an Excel worksheet into the DWG.
2 - various win7 and XP users make changes to the Excel worksheet directly in Excel
3 - Win7 users open the DWG to see the correct and updated Excel data in the DWG
4 - XP users open the same DWG to see OLD data from a previous save and not the correct updated data on the linked worksheet
5 - XP users directly open the Excel file in Excel and are able to view the correct updated data BUT NOT IN THE DWG
6 - XP users see old incorrect excel worksheet data in the DWG. Win7 users see the correct data in the DWG.
I have the student version of AutoCAD 2012 on an HP laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium OS. I originally installed AutoCAD in June of 2012. It worked fine for 9 or 10 months but now whenever I select File/Open, File/Save, or File/Save As, AutoCAD stops responding and the spinning blue donut appears. AutoCAD never comes back and I have to close it from Task Manager. I uninstalled AutoCAD and reinstalled it, and the process went smoothly. However I still have exactly the same problem with the File operations. I apply Windows updates, but other than that have not made any changes to the software on the laptop. AutoCAD works fine for everything except the File operations. I am able to save with CTL/S and am able to open AutoCAD files from File Manager.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have installed Autocad 2012 LT on Windows XP sp3. The program opened and worked fine after the install. The user was not sure they wanted this version so I did not activate the program right away. After the user decided they wanted to keep this version I activated the program with a license and now the program will not open. Crashes and does not give an error message.
I have tried to uninstall and re-install. I uninstalled netframework 3.5 sp1 and re-installed, still will not open.
I posted a while ago as my AutoCAD 2012 keeps crashing when I try to save as. Well it doesn't crash as such it just freezes until I press ESC. I've also noticed it does this when I select LAYDEL.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have windows 8 on new asus laptop N56VZ. Installed civil 3d 2013 with no problems (i see some people have problems with installing) but it doesn't work normal. It crashes every time i try to edit an alignment, old or new.
I had windows 8 beta on an older asus laptop and civil 3d work there normally. Then I upgraded it to win 8 and it started crashing like described.Today i bought that new asus n56vz with windows 8 and it is crashing.
I just installed Civil 3D 2012 64 bit on a new computer running Windows 8. It starts up fine, but when I pull up a drawing, about 1 or 2 minutes later, the program shuts down and I have to restart Civil 3D. I've pulled up several different drawings from different sources, and it does the same thing. First, a window pops up for a split second, and I can't read the contents of the window. Then, I get the window that says Civil 3D is shutting down.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to query some mapdata from a NAD27 drawing to a NAD83 drawing and when I do a quick view or a query, Map3D 2012 ( a new installation on Windows 7) crashes. I have the NTV2_0.GSB in the c:ProgramDataAutodeskGeospatial Coordinate SystemCanada directory and have edited the NAD27toNAD83.gdc file accordingly but to no avail.
This setup has been working on my previous Map installations (Map3D 2007 on XP, Map3D 2010 on XP & Map3D 2010 on Windows 7) so I know I have working configuration files.
Is this supported by Autodesk, and will installing both products create any issues?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo 2011 had some issue and I though 2012 would get those fixed. I was wrong. More problems occur. With 2011 I was able to open assemblies directly through vault. Now with 2012, since the vault issue updates as it opens, I crash on any sizeable model or assembly. So now just to open a file, I must get it, then go to inventor and open it, and hit no when the refresh window come up. If I hit yes, it crashes. If I hit no it open, then if i hit local/global update it crashes. So technically I cant do any new work with any of my larger assemblies (2000+ parts) I have sent out numerous error reposrt, only for autodesk to say that they can replicate the problem. I have SP1 installed, and this is happening with other users at my company as well.

I'm currently setting up the sheet templates for our office to include page setups for the various sheet sizes (Arch D, Arch E, Arch E1) and output types (full size, half size, 11x17).I have created a PC3 file for each sheet size and output (ArchD full size and ArchD halfsize use separate PC3's) to best utilize the paper sizes made available to us. After testing from my machine, I went to test it from another users computer and ran into problems.The trouble doesn't lie with plotting to our plotter, in fact it works everytime. The trouble is when publishing to CutePDF. When I open the file on this users machine, I can't even click the page setup for the CutePDF. It continually defaults to None.
I've copied all the PC3 files (yes, I even created one for CutePDF) to this users machine, but still cannot get the page setup to work.I've always thought that defaulting to the None plotter was an indicator that your machine doesn't have the correct PC3 file, but that shouldn't be the case in this instance.
Both workstations are Win7 64 bit, how to get the Materials & Appearance Browser to show up on the computer that it is missing from?

The video pretty much explains it. Randomly when I move the pivot (d) and snap to point (v) it crashes on mouse release. This has been happening recently more than is acceptable.
I included about 30 seconds up to the issue to show what exactly I was doing before the crash.
I'm doing a program in Visual Basic 2010. In one of the forms I put a button that when clicked must open AutoCAD 2012 and make a drawing in it. The user will decide where to save it.The steps are these:

I recently loaded several versions of AutoCAD on to a Windows 7 machine. ALL versions will open a drawing if double-clicked from windows explorer, but if I try to open through AutoCAD, the program freezes as soon as I click on the "Open" button. This is true for AutoCAD 2010 through 2012.

I first installed 2012, then I realized that my class will be using 2011. I downloaded 2011, and kept my 2012, and it didn't seem like there would be any issues. So I open my 2011 and it keeps crashing before it loads completely. There are no error messages or anything ...2012 works just fine. I tried doing a repair, and a reinstall.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis happens almost evertime I go to a .ipn to update changes and save. It freezes w/ no cahnce of coming back. Two other things that is troubling me about the .ipn is that sometimes it will rearange itself w/ all the parts at 0,0,0 and or won't let me ballon any parts. After closing the file and opening it again it either does the same exact thing or takes the balloons but throws the pick points of into space......

I am just installed AutoCAD 2010 on Windows 7 (both 64-bit). There is a problem with the Page Setup Manager. When I select any of the page setup tabs, then select "modify" or even "new", the program crashes. Same things happens when I gain access to the Page Set Up Manager through the menu. . Page Manager hasn't ever worked. Update 2 is installed. I have repaired and reinstalled, and tried all again just now. There is no error message beyond "not responding" in parentheses next to name of dialogue box. The screen grays out and stays that way. Then the screen becomes shaded with the whirling aqua ring and it's all over. Control + P and plot causes the system to crash as well.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing that I've been working off and on now for a couple of months and is particularly large (48MB). I have finally put togther a concept in it which took me two days and when I tried to RENDER, AutoCad crashed. All is still when until I tried to reopen the drawing, AutoCad loaded the drawing until 99% and froze. I tried the .bak and that crashed AutoCad. I also tried the .bak from an hour earlier and that didn't work. Here are the steps I've taken so far:
-Opened drawing and .bak(s) in TrueView, converted to Standard, Opened the drawing in TrueView (no problems) and tried to open in AutoCad....same old issues.
-Tried inserting drawing as a block in a new drawing (crashed AutoCad)
What I can do? Everything opens fine in Trueview?? I can resort to older files but that would be difficult. Below are my computer specs.

I have been having problems with Autocad 2012 (running on Windows 7/64bit) where it keeps getting hung up and I get the spinning wheel and the (not responding) message... I notice this happens most often when I am editing attributes of a block, editing text (by double click or through the properties window), or printing to PDF. I am unable to shut down autocad, Windows 7 will not let me end the process in the task manager, and I have to shut off the power on my laptop to force it to shut down. On the few occasions where I got the window to close, Autocad would not re-open, the start up screen would just get stuck at Initializing..

What does this mean and what can I do to be able to open the drawing in AuotCAD Map 3D?
I use a user-defined hatch often - just 45 degree lines say 4" apart in model space. In 2009 I could make this annotative and the paper distance between those lines would remain the same as long as I made sure the hatch had the appropriate annotive scales associated with it.
In 2012 when I try to do the same thing, the hatch stays at the same Model space spacing in every viewport even though the viewports have different annotative scale AND the hatch has matching annotative scales.
I've downloaded it several times, but it seems it just will not install.

why with autocad 2012 mechanical, I can't no more embed PDF or Images to a drawing but only load it as references, linked to a file path?
Previously I used Autocad 2009 MEC and there wasn't this problem.
I shall fix this because, when I load a dwg to our company management system, the pdf or images shall be embed to the dwg file.
If I load the pdf as OLE Object, it doesn't lock the view and the pdf zoom canghe with the dwg zoom, so it is acceptable.
