When I try open AutoCad, at first it loads fine, doing all the pulg ins and that, then just stops.
The text in the corner just says "Loading", and I've left it for hours an it really isn't.
Im on windows 8 64bit. I'm currently on the CC trial but was planning on signing up for the subscription this week. However After updating my apps this morning I have been unable to load Photoshop CC. It gets stuck at "reading preferences..."
Premiere Pro and After Effects were updated and were running fine afterwards.I have tried restarting my system, reinstalling the app and I have also uninstalled everything and done an adobe cleanup tool run and reinstalled just photoshop. But still the same issue?
I used refedit to freeze a couple of items that were nested. My drawing file/machine locked up when I attemped to freeze them. I had to reboot, when I opened the file again I was still stuck in refedit mode. I cannot use refclose to get out our that command. It wants me to use refedit again. I need to get back to my work.
View 4 Replies View Relatedwhy our copies of AutoCAD MEP 2012 seem to hang when loading the default dwt files? On the splash screen it details all the files being loaded and when it gets to the dwt file it just hangs at 0%. In the windows task manager, acad.exe stops using memory (around 90megs) and the cpu stops too. It's get's really frustrating, especially as it only seems to affect our new Dell Optiplex's and a couple of our old Dell Precisions. Some of them work first time every time, no probs. All PC's are Windows 7 Pro 64bit and running the latest service packs for AutoCAD.

Eventually the project will load, but first it will prompt with "Where is the file 0000026.MTS" . I just click skip then. This issue is probably unrelated to my loading problem though....

Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? So far I have disabled Antivirus scanning. I have also loaded latest drivers and firmware for all PC components. Adobe Premiere Elements 9 is also up too date with patches
When i was working in PS CS3, i pressed the 'b' shortcut for the brush tool. Instead of giving me the brush tool, it made the screen slightly brighter. Thinking it was strange, i pressed it alot and the screen is now around 50% brighter/blown out. Which is not good when preparing images for print!
When photoshop is open, all of my windows, whether it's firefox, or the desk top, are bright as well. As soon as i close PS, it goes away. I've reinstalled Photoshop with no luck, and the brightness factor isn't effecting any of my other CS3 programs.
about three weeks ago, maya 2014 started being stuck at the splash screen saying "Maya loading" and doing nothing. I also tried running it with admin permissions, repaired it, uninstalled and deleted AppdataLocal-and-RoamingAutodesk, then installed again. I also tried installing Maya 2013, to see if that starts up: it doesn't. EDIT: I also tried restarting that license program The only thing I can call a reason is: It randomly asked me to license and stuff, after i accidently opened it twice. Then I 'clicked through' (I did read it though) and killed the second process. After that it stopped working.

The FILE, EDIT, ... drop down menus only appear after carefully hovering near the top of the screen and the minimize, full screen, and close buttons never appear. I don't want to close LR to check email, browse, or kill time while it is rendering previews.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter connecting to a flat screen TV for a presentation yesterday, the Photoshop CS6 application frame I was working on suddenly had the bottom edge below the screen on my MacBook Pro.
I can uncheck Application Frame in Window to free up the project, but with it checked I cannot find a way to reach the bottom of the frame and the scale input control. Also cannot reach the lower layers in the layer menu.
My Content Center Add-In is not loading in Inventor Pro 2012. It's listed as unloaded in the Add-In manager (see below), and, of course, "Place from Content Center" isn't shown as an option on any of the menus. If I double-click on Centent Center in the Add-In Manager, the word "Unloaded" changes to "Loaded" and I don't get any errors. It looks like it should have loaded fine. But then if I close the Add-In Manager and open it again, it has gone back to "Unloaded". I haven't found anything that can restore the Content Center functionality.
I have installed Inventor Pro 2013, and this could have been around when the Inventor 2012 Content Center broke. I'm not positive about the timing... If I start Inv 2013, the Content Center works fine in it.
What to do before uninstalling 2013 and/or reinstalling 2012?
We have 13 machines that are identical hardware and software; Windows 7 and the Autodesk Product Design Suite 2012 as well as the Vault 2012 Client. Two of these machines are exhibiting the following behavior: Connected to our LAN with access to the internet not loading Vault on startup Inventor loads in 68 seconds.Disconnected from our LAN with no access to the internet not loading Vault on startup Inventor loads in <10 seconds. I have tested this with our AV turned on and off with no changes in the above noted behavior. These two machines loaded Inventor 2011 in repsectable times ~<30 seconds.
Now this tells me that when Inventor is loading it is trying to go somewhere when there is a network connection. But where and what can I do to make it stop?
I am running LT 2012 and it keeps freezing at the Loading customiztion files point... This locks the whole pc and I need to do a hard reset.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I am in paper space I sometimes double click in my viewport. Then the viewport becomes my whole window. How do I get out of the viewport without doing an undo until I reach where I first began?
Also sometimes when I double click in the viewport, but the viewport is the only thing visible in the screen, (vs having the whole sheet and being able to click out) I don't know how to get out without Undo.
I just downloaded the trial version of paintshop pro x4. It worked for a while but the opacity sliders were extremely slow to respond. I thought this was my main problem but now every time I open the program it takes me to the register screen. When I register the screen goes white and nothing happens. If I close it the whole program closes. I have three emails confirm me for registering so I don't know why the screen pops up anymore... I was very happy to have more 16bit capabilities.

In 2013, I had created screen menu layout for Lite Users, where I placed the old Standard and Express Tools Menus along the top of the CAD window, just below the Ribbon. To do this I would Rt. Click in the Grey area (just below the Ribbon and above the CAD window), and then be able to choose menus from the AutoCAD, CIVIL, or EXPRESS menu groups.
In 2014, when I Rt.Clk. in the same area, I'm not given a way to select menus to add - as in 2013.
Is there another way to manually load the Standard AutoCAD and Express menus to the screen, in addition to the Ribbon, etc?

Upon setting up a drawing for plotting (the problem is not printer specific) the "Print Preview" gets stuck in a loop where I am unable to exit if I choose to cancel or alter the settings. I am forced to go ahead and send the plot. If iI immediately go back and run the PLOT command again nothing happens... no dialog box, no error nothing. I must then go to any other open dwg, do a save, and then go back to the original dwg. Then the PLOT command will again work, however, still getting stuck in the preview loop.
While publishing several drawings I am having problems creating Single Sheets, (a customer preference). Even though I have the Multi-sheet/Single-sheet setting set to "Single" Autocad still creates a multi-sheet PDF. I am using Autocad 2012.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I switch tabs in my UI (I use Drafting and Annotation), they bug somehow and they don't upgrade visually. What I mean is that if I switch "Home" tab to "Annotate", it keeps showing "Home" tab maximized, but the if I click "Line" it would use "Multiline tool", as they occupy same space in corresponding tab. I can fix it temporarily by multi-clicking bar, but after next switch between tabs, it would bug again. I assume it is not hardware problem, as it used to work for me, then I reinstalled my OS and bug started.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was attempting to hatch a simple closed polyline when all of sudden AutoCad had to pull a stunt and give me the FATAL ERROR shut down. When I recovered my drawing, it automatically launched the hatch creation window..just as i left it. However, nothing works. I can't hatch anything, and I can't close the hatch editor ribbon. If i try to select an area to hatch, it lets me select it, but then glitches out and asks me for a base point to move something. I've tried everything, DPLGMODE set to 1, save as, close, shut down, etc..

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have problems loading a max file. The file has several containers with external content, and it started crashing on load after I created those containers.
I tried merging the file into an empty scene, and it works if I merge everything but the containers. I also tried merging the containers alone, and that makes it crash.
I need/want to use containers, because the scene is very big, and can be quite challenging to handle. I could try using X-refs instead, but I was hoping to use containers, since it seems like a good solution in theory at least!
I extract a displacement map from Mudbox 2012 that has just a simple sphere. Then in Maya 2012, I create a file node and try to load the displacement map. Maya crash.....

I have been using the CS3 products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) every day for many years at work. Working fine yesterday.
Try to use them today, the register now/later screen won't load properly (blank screen) so I can't select either option and can't use the apps. We usually "register later" without issue whenever it appears.
I'm doing a program in Visual Basic 2010. In one of the forms I put a button that when clicked must open AutoCAD 2012 and make a drawing in it. The user will decide where to save it.The steps are these:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently loaded several versions of AutoCAD on to a Windows 7 machine. ALL versions will open a drawing if double-clicked from windows explorer, but if I try to open through AutoCAD, the program freezes as soon as I click on the "Open" button. This is true for AutoCAD 2010 through 2012.

250GB HD
8GB Ram
I7-2600 proc
AMD Radeon HD 6670 (1Gb) Video Card
I also cannot open multiple instances of ANY version of AutoCAD in Windows 7.
started a new job after being out of the biz for a couple of years and would like to load some sweet dvb files that I grew accustomed to in my prior life. I can appload my .lsp files with the the best of them but these dang dvb's have me wishin' they were .lsp! The dvb's were at one time lisp routines but were turned into dvbs by a power user somewhere along the line. What's my avenue for success at ever getting to use these sweeties again?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWe have an engineer running Inventor 2012 (Premium Suite) on a Windows 7, 64-bit machine.
He's experiencing an issue where once he starts Inventor, it doesnt proceed past the splash screen.
If I then log onto his machine, Inventor loads fine without a problem.
If this engineer then logs onto another workstation, Inventor works fine for him on that machine.
I have tried deleting the .cas file, no joy; this is a stand-alone installation.
I also reported this to our re-seller since we have a support agreement with them - they recommended a system restore; we felt that this was a lame reply since they didnt even ask for any log files.
They also recommended a registry 'hack' - the solution in the link below was recommended.

We also created a new profile for this user, still no success.
I get a feeling that a full re-installation might be the only way forward bar a system restore.
According to our subscription support engineer, there are chances that this issue might not be resolved even with a full re-installation.
New to using windows autocad 2012 LT. It keeps locking up the screen, mouse & keyboard. I installed the autocad hotfixs and service packs and it still does it.
I have a Intel Core 2 Quad CPU, Q8200 at 2.33 GHz, 2.33 GB of RAM.
XP Professional version 2002 with service pack 3 installed.
I have a user who is disabled. He can only use a mouse and cannot use a keyboard. For keyboard inputs, he uses the On-Screen Keyboard built-in to Windows 7. He has used many versions of Autodesk Inventor... since 2010.
Normally, the On-Screen Keyboard will always "stay on top" of all other programs and windows. With Inventor 2012, the On-Screen Keyboard disappears when you press certain buttons in Inventor. In my screencast, the On-Screen Keyboard disappears when you complete an Extrude function and also when you Fillet. I've also seen it disappear when during a Chamfer, but this is not in the screencast.
This is extremely annoying for a user who can only use a mouse, as he has to constantly bring back the On-Screen Keyboard by click on the taskbar icon. It's also inconsistent with what Autodesk did in the past with previous versions of Inventor.
