View 2 RepliesI am evaluating VS Pro X4 (trial version) and one of my tests consists in importing a .m2ts clip, strip some parts of the original clip and save it in the same formats (codec, resolution, aspect ratio, file) as the imported clip.
The original clip is a NTCS HDMV file format (with the .m2ts extension), H.264 video 720p60 (16:9), digital Audio Dolby (AAC).
I'm able to do the first 2 steps without any problem. However, when I want to save the result in a file, I cannot find any way to indicate the software to save in the same format as the original clip. So I am looking for any way to save the video in a 720p60 (59.94 to be accurate) with the same video and audio codec that can be read by a PS3 console (H264, AAC) as a .m2ts file.
Is it possible to do this using VS Pro X4? Or do I need to use a non-trial version? Or do I need to use the Ultimate version? Or is it simply impossible to do this (yet)?
Things I tried:When I want to create a video file, and choose "as per project's parameters". But it appears they are set to NTSC SD for DVD-like output. If I go in the project's parameters menu, there is no way I can set the resolution to 720p60 HD.Among the AVCHD outputs in "Create a video file", I only find 1080i and 1080p resolutions. Same for Blu-Ray outputs. Why is there no 720p resolution in both outputs?In the "Customized" output, there is no way I can set the resolution to 720p60 HD. Is it normal?
I have an assembly which consists of parts and holes, when I open a part the holes are not visible as they were created in the assembly - how do I display the holes for these parts that were created in the main assembly when opening a part file ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedImplemented a CAD viewing station on the shop floor for the shop guys to use to view and measure the 3D CAD models? If so what did you use for software and how did it work?
The reason I ask is because we get into a lot of scenarios where a builder needs to see how something goes together in a machine or needs a distance between 2 parts or sub assemblies to work with set while they are assembling the machine. So instead of them stopping what they are doing walking up to the design department locating the design (now stopping him in what he is doing) and asking him to open the file for viewing or a distance they would be able to do it right on the floor.
I am thinking of making .DWFs of our main assembly IAMs and using a laptop with Autodesk Design Review to open them on the shop floor for the measuring and viewing.

I am having a catastrophic error in Inventor 2013.
When I attempt to save a drawing I have completed, I cannot save!
Can't save, save as or any other variation of save.
This is my issue every time I click save.
Not sure of the version of MDT files, but they won't export into Inventor 2011 so they are older than MDT 2009.
I have been trying to figure out why client cannot see objects drawn in MDT when opened in vanilla Acad. I had him check what I believe is the main variable affecting this, proxy show, and it was set to 0. After setting it to 1 and doing a regen, still nothing.
I also checked proxy graphics and proxy notice and they are both set to 1, but neither affect this issue directly.
I've had a few people check this file on their systems and they can see the objects. Various O.S.'s were used to test the file, Win7/64 and 32, however the client who is having problems is using WinXP/32. I am also able to open and see the object on another WinXP system.
Something else to note, I realize this isn't the correct way to use aectoacad, but I tried opening the file in vanilla Acad and used that export to acad command and guess what? The client can see the object now!
I thought export to acad (aka aectoacad) was suppose to be used from what ever application the dwg first originated in?!?! If it works this way then so be it!
I often use "EXP"/"EXPORT" to export my drawing to a 3D .dwf for viewing in Naviswork Freedom as it's much easier to get in and pan about looking for routes etc.
Only trouble is, I have a main drawing with multiple floors/services/steelwork/etc, and I often try one thing, then move it to the side and try something else. All well and good, but exporting the whole building when I'm only interested in one little bit is really annoying and pretty time consuming at awkward bit where I'm changing and re-exporting every 5mins.
Is there a way to only export the current selection? The only methods I have found, both of which often cause more problems than solves, is to copy and paste what I do want into an new drawing, or delete everything that I don't, and export what's left. Trouble is when layers are locked, you have to go round unlocking, etc.....
There must be a better way?!
I've got .dxf files of parts that need to be manufactured, however in this instance I need to manufacture 3/4 scale versions of these parts. So far I've been simply printing the plans and using my trusty calculator to change the scale of the dimensions.
But now I've got a couple of pages in this set of plans that have over a thousand dimensions on them. It would be really cool if I could just open a dialog or enter a command and have all the dimension on the page multiplied by a scaler so I can print the plans with the correct dimensions on them.
Scaling the model has been suggested. I assume that when you scale a model that the dimensions automatically update. However, I have no idea if these .dxfs contain model information or just 2D plan data and I don't know how to check.
The second question of my post is only; Is there a way to view the actual size of the plans in auto cad? Sort of a "Display actual size" button?
I use autocad architecture 2013 and it works just fine until the save turns to qsave whenever i want to save a drawing by save, save as and ctrl+s it works as qsave..how can I turn it back to SAVE ?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have several shapefiles that I have brought into a new autoCad drawing all with the same coordinate system. All display fine when zoomed out to the extents but when I zoom in the features disappear. The scaling is set to the default 0 to infinity onside of the styling so they should disappear like they are or like one would think if that was set to something else.
I also can not snap to these features while zoomed in either.
Is there a system variable that controls being able to view a block during insertion? Currently I cannot see the block I am trying to insert on the cursor to see where I will be inserting it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI need to beam complex P&IDs for client viewing. The drawings are in AutoCAD2012. I find it difficult to zoom and pan to the desired place. Beaming individual component P&IDs is also not an option as the client usually wants to see the enitre layout first. The entire layout, when beamed is unreadable without zooming. I was hoping for a solution similar to drilling down in databases (clubbing of data when we at the top levels and then the ability to view details when clicking on a particular cell); where only the important lines and symbols are shown at the top levels so that they can clearly be seen on beaming.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat would cause AutoCAD to choke, ONLY when viewing a model from one direction? In my case, it's the right view, and it doesn't matter how I get to that view, ie "view, right" or "dview,clip". Views from other directions regen almost instantly, but from the right takes a full minute, while Acad tells me up top that it's [not responding].
Issue is only in single dwg. Tried audit, purge, etc. Wondering if there is some obscure (dwg specific) system variable causing this, before trying the WB to get rid of an offensive entity.
If there is a way to view your 3d model in perspective view in model space.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had a client send me over some information about a site we have out in the middle of nowhere, Australia, and they've sent over the info in a bunch of .shx files. The types are shown as Shape Source and Compiled Shape. So, is there a way for me to change the .shx files to .dwg or .dwf files without downloading a piece of software for $150-250USD without knowing if it really works? I've looked through the forums, but I don't want to convert the files from .shx to .shp, I also tried a couple of trial downloads for converters, but for some reason have only found downloads for 32bit machines, whereas I'm working with a 64bit machine, or they don't do what they say they do.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using Autocad 2000. When I view a 3D object from, say, a top view, I would like lines that would normally be hidden to appear as a dashed lines rather than simply disappearing. Otherwise, it's not possible to use a 3D model to produce a standard shop drawing. Without hidden lines appearing properly (not as solid but as dashed!) there is too much detail that cannot be seen. I have tried playing with many different settings and variables to no avail.

I am having an issue seeing a 2line pipe drawn in MEP and viewing the drawing in AutoCAD vanilla. I can view the 2line pipe in it's original dwg file, but when I xref it into the base drawing the 2line pipe shows up as a 1line pipe in AutoCAD vanilla. I am using AutoCAD MEP AS AutoCAD which has all the enablers.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've built a corridor using only an Offset Assembly. The assembly represents a new path alongside an existing road and I wanted to use the centerline of the road as the main baseline. I have successfully built the corridor and was able to build the Sample Line and Sample Views. However, I am not able to view the sections in the Section Editor. As soon as I try to get into the Section Editor, I get the error message "No station found". The stations are large, 500+00 and up, so I tried changing the BOP to 0+00, but that had no effect. I tend to think it's a result of not having any subassembly attached directly to the main alignment, only to offset alignments. I'm running the 2011 version.
View 2 Replies View RelatedGreetings, frequently I need to identify the origin of a previously applied custom hatch pattern for use in a different area of the same drawing, is there a way to have the origin displayed and/or view its coordinates in 2009LT?
I had hoped that I could select multiple hatched areas & view their orgin points through "properties" & verify that the points of origin all align (in either the x or y axis), but this doesnt seem to be the case.

Ideally, I'd like to draw a line or circle from the origin of the original hatch
I need to start doing shaped glass drawings for our new glass supplier who insists everything is viewed from outside. Unfortunately all our drawings are viewed from inside and I don't want my team to be responsible for copying and flipping glass details in case they forget to flip one day.
I can obviously mirror the viewport view by clicking View/Views/Bottom but this is also mirroring any text dimensions, even though my Mirrtext preference is set to 0.
Is there a way to set a dimension style where the text is automatically back to front so it will then appear the right way round in that particular viewport. How to get round this problem without duplicating parts that can then get missed at a later date and not amended?
This needs to work in both AutoCAD 2014 and AutoCAD LT 2014 as we run a mixture in our office.
I've attached an image of my problem for reference. I've had this problem in other versions of CAD so it's likely a user error that I'm not clear on how to fix.
I have several dimensions which I'm trying to place on my drawing through VPMAX in my viewport, but the text keeps showing up upside down. When I manually tell it to rotate 90 degrees, the text remains upside-down but the landing becomes vertical. When I rotate 180 degrees, the text becomes vertical which isn't really useful. Rotating 270 degrees almost solves my problem, but the landing is once again vertical.
If it matters, the UCS coordinates have been rotated 90 degrees for ease of viewing in paper space.
I want to make popup the i properties windows to fill or change in 2 ways:

Iam looking for a script, that "save as" my top assembly and.
- delete all features of the parts in my assembly, that are disable like this
Feature.IsActive("Hole1") = False
Feature.IsActive("Radius1") = False
- delete all rules and formular in all assemblys and parts
- delete all custom parameters in the top assembly
so that i've after run the "save as"-script, a clean assembly.
I am simply trying to print or save an Inventor .DWG file to a .PDF file via C# - the issue being that the .PDF page size must correspond to the active sheet size in Inventor.
When I try printing to a PDF using:
oPrint.Printer = "Adobe PDF";
oPrint.ScaleMode = PrintScaleModeEnum.kPrintBestFitScale;
oPrint.PaperSize = PaperSizeEnum.kPaperSize11x17;
oPrint.Orientation = PrintOrientationEnum.kLandscapeOrientation;
oPrint.SetSheetRange(1, 1);
oPrint.PrintRange = PrintRangeEnum.kPrintSheetRange;
oPrint.SubmitPrint();
I get a message saying I have to uncheck "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts." in the Adobe PDF settings. Is there a way to do this programmatically?
When I export to PDF using:
TranslatorAddIn PDFAddin = (TranslatorAddIn)instance.ApplicationAddIns.get_ItemById("{0AC6FD96-2F4D-42CE-8BE0-8AEA580399E4}");
TranslationContext oContext = instance.TransientObjects.CreateTranslationContext();
oContext.Type = IOMechanismEnum.kFileBrowseIOMechanism;
[Code] .....
This works but I cannot set the PDF page size. Again, is there a way to do this programmatically?
I am using Inventor 2010, Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, Windows 7, 64 bit.
