AutoCAD 2013 :: Viewing Realistic Rendering In Layout Tab?

View 4 RepliesWas wondering if there are some ways in converting a highly realistic rendering of an object generated in a 3D program into a more illustrative, simplified, alittle less realistic version in Photoshop?
The object has plenty of silver reflections, HDRI environment map reflections, precise shadows and highlights, etc. I just want to make it look more generic and not as polished I guess.
Are there filters or plugins that will do this in a plug in play method or is it more prodedural and manual?
Why am i seeing all black when i rendered my southwest or southeast view, without setting up a camera. But other ppl of my peeps r seeing in colour and materails. Also, my other problem is when i put on realistic view, i m seeing grey-ish blocks instead of "real" materials. In my previous assignment, I did see the "Real" materials when i set it on realistic view. However i did try to reset to default for my realistic veiw, but still it did not seem to be working.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new user of REVIT Architecture for approximately one month, and I am very disappointed about quality renderings.
I am looking for a realistic 3D rendering engine, which would be fairly simple to use because I do not want a complicated software such as 3DS MAX software.I would also like a software as compatible as possible with REVIT, ie that file sharing should be simple without having to recreate the materials and textures in the rendering software.I have heard the following software:
BLENDERVRAYMAXWELLLUMIONARTLANTISCan you give me your opinion on this software when compared to their QUALITY RENDERING / EASE OF USE ?
Is there a system variable that controls being able to view a block during insertion? Currently I cannot see the block I am trying to insert on the cursor to see where I will be inserting it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently loaded Autocad 2013 and am having trouble with the text showing up in the Layer properties manager dialogue box, all information about the layers is whited out.
Is this a transparency setting?
I am unsure what to change/set to correct this so I can see layer informaion in the dialogue box.
How do I get my part to be transparent in the "Realistic" view like it is with the"Shaded with edges"? This is what it looks like with the view style set to "Shaded with Edges". Notice how it is transparent and you can see thru the part.
Now when I switch to "Realistic", I get this. Anything that is behind this part is not visible.
I want to be able to see thru the part when in the reallistic visual style.
I am having an issue seeing a 2line pipe drawn in MEP and viewing the drawing in AutoCAD vanilla. I can view the 2line pipe in it's original dwg file, but when I xref it into the base drawing the 2line pipe shows up as a 1line pipe in AutoCAD vanilla. I am using AutoCAD MEP AS AutoCAD which has all the enablers.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have one PSD that I moved from one Windows 7 machine running CS5 to another. When I open the file on the second machine all of the text layers have the little alert triangle icon. When I try to edit the text I get the message:
"Rendering the text layer will cause its layout to change. Existing pixel data will be used."
The font being used is Verdana - which I believe is native on both machines. There are no faux files applied to the fonts. Both machines are running CS5.
why text layers from one computer conflict with another computer.
I need to start doing shaped glass drawings for our new glass supplier who insists everything is viewed from outside. Unfortunately all our drawings are viewed from inside and I don't want my team to be responsible for copying and flipping glass details in case they forget to flip one day.
I can obviously mirror the viewport view by clicking View/Views/Bottom but this is also mirroring any text dimensions, even though my Mirrtext preference is set to 0.
Is there a way to set a dimension style where the text is automatically back to front so it will then appear the right way round in that particular viewport. How to get round this problem without duplicating parts that can then get missed at a later date and not amended?
This needs to work in both AutoCAD 2014 and AutoCAD LT 2014 as we run a mixture in our office.
The problem I'm having is that when I try to edit a text layer, the layout of the layer changes completely - I have a grey warning triangle in the affected layer thumbnail that states the following message when I hover over it :
'Font is present on system but requires a layout change'
When I double click to edit the text layer, the following warning dialog pops up:
'Editing or Rendering the text layer will cause the layout to change'
I'm forced to click 'okay' to proceed which is when the layout of the text layer changes completely! Obviously this has massive implications for branding and page consitency!!
Now even if I have to do this the long way round, which means rebuilding each individual text layer for every single document, there is another problem, it appears that after I click 'OK' photoshop distorts the text! This means that I can't increase or decrease the font size to match it up! Same font, Same height, same AA, same weight, different circle radius!
I'm using CS5 64bit Cloud edition on Windows 7, I've already tried updating and reinstalling Photoshop but it doesnt remedy the problem, I've reinstalled a sample batch of the fonts affected and deleted any plugins
I am new to AutoCAD and was wondering if there is a quick and easy way to take 2D linework and attach materials to it for rendering. (i.e. I would like to make my 2D elevations look like it has actual siding on it... how cna I do this?)

I have a rendering image in PNG format that I want to have dimension. These dimensions will be in all 3 planes.
I want them allinged to object sort of like what you get when you view dimensons in perspective (first arrow is bigger than second arrow text is getting smaller as it goes further away etc.).
Currently I import my image and draw each arrow, each line, slant the text and it looks so-so... not the greatest and it is A LOT OF WORK. Then i print the dimensions to and image and combine the rendering and image in GIMP.
I'm rendering an equipment shelter that sits atop a gravel pad. I've picked the "Gravel Crushed" material, and it looks OK, but I'd like to be able to scale the material so it isn't so "fine". I'd like it to be more coarse.
How to change the scale of the material?
I think I'm pretty close to understanding how to get realistic interior lighting with nice soft shadows etc. However, I can't figure out how to get the sun & sky background to stop putting all these spots on my walls!
I previously made a version using 1000 "rays" for "Final Gather" and it looks a bit better....but it's still spotty.
How to get genuine soft shadows sans spots from the sun & sky background?
I've played with every parameter I can think of, but nothing smooths out the spots even a little bit.

How do I move a 360 Panorama Image over to 360 so I can share the panorama? When I download the panorama it downloads as an image strip not a panorama and on the 360 Rendering page I cannot find a way to share the image.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using Autodesk Inventor Pro 2013.
I have a middle complexity model, with several decals (,jpg, Using Mask), projected to different parts. When I start Studio, and start rendering, Inventor hangs. The render window opens, but it freezes on Translating and soon both of the windows are not answering. I've checked th CPU. Inventor uses around 1G of ram, during regular use. When I start rendering, slowly it goes up around 5,5G, and eventually the Windows freezes. Rendering the same model without a decal works fine.
I've installed all the Windows updates, and the Inv2013 1.1 Service Pack. Nothing worked.

I know how to rotate the image and bump for the material, but do I have to do that and create numerous roof materials in my drawing - one for each slope? Or is there a different way to map the material to the 3D object?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI need to create a section of a 3d model. Unfortuntaly the layout tab I need is missing. Normally if somthing is missing I type 'CUI' and then click Ribbon>Tabs> select the one I want and drag it to 'Workspaces Contents' - 'Ribbon Tabs'
The ribbon tab for layout is missing from the cui. See attached images.
How can I get the Layout Ribbon Tab back quickly?
Tutorial I am trying to follow; [URL] .......
Right-click on a layout tab, select Rename ... nothing.
It looks like it highlights the tab for a nanosecond then crosshairs appear with an empty command line.
I eventually renamed one tab by selecting rename like fifty-eleven times.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have just downloaded the 3 year trial of AutoCAD for students. I have managed to create a floor plan but struggling to amend the layout. First of all, I would like the page setup to be A3 but that is not an option on my Page Setup Manager as it will only connect to my printer size.
I am also trying to add a Title Block but again do not know what I am doing, or where to download template ones for free?
I am working in a 3D Modeling workspace.
I am attempting to use the new Base View feature called Offset Section.
The 3D, solid, model has been created. I click on the Layout tab and there are only to panels showing: Layout and Layout Viewports. Four seem to have gone missing: Create View, Modify View, Update and Styles & Standards.
I have not made any changes to the CUI nor have I migrated settings from 2012.
Layout tab, is there a command to hide the specific layout not the layout & model?
when i right click in the model or layout tab then click "Hide Layout and Model Tabs" , all is being hide.
i need only specific layout to be hidden.
As the layout tabs I'd like to have a multiple model-views tabs.
I can use layouts tabs, I can change the background color to same as model tab and all its ok.
However I'm unable to set scale to have text and annotation with a "human" size (that is, thinking on my screen and not on the paper).
Maybe this is a newbie question but I'm lost....
What is what I must to set ? I dont want to use layout to print, but to view my drawing with custom layer settings.

Can I insert a field in the title block in the layouts that will show the date of the last change made to the part of the model that is shown in the layout view.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use multiple layouts to produce build drawings and I use the name of the layout tab to identify the sheet on the shop floor.
I currently use a field in the titleblock that calls the system variable ctab, the problem is that whenever you update the fields, they all change to the name of the current tab, not the name of their own tab (by default, when you open the drawing, they all say Model).
I resort to building all of the layouts and converting that field to text prior to printing.
