Dec 15, 2013I have 10 layouts then i will set each layout PSLTSCALE value to 0 but when i return to the layout that i already set, the PSLTscale value become 1 again.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Set Psltscale Per Linetype
May 16, 2012I am wanting a soultion to a problem I am having when trying to have a combination of linetypes I either want psltscaled or not in a view port.
I.e. I want services linetypes to use psltscale = 1 and I want my linemarking linetypes to use a psltscale = 0, as I need the linemarking linetypes to show in the viewport at the original size they were created at but not the services linetypes as they look horrible.

Oct 19, 2012I think the MSLTSCALE / PSLTSCALE / annotation scales are fantastic to use when showing the details / plan at different scales (1:100 / 1:50 / 1:1) without having to use LTS to show different scales. I am using AutoCAD 2011.However, I noticed one snag. In the old Autocad before the MSLTSCALE was introduced, I used a shape linetype - a sino shape which I created for insulation in the wall cavity as well for curtain in the interior plan layout (with MSLTSCALE set at 0 and LTS set at scale factor at 1 and use paperspace scaling at desired scale.
When MSLTSCALE / PSLTSCALE are set at 1, the sino linetype will of course changed accordingly to different scale .I prefer to keep the MSLTSCALE / PSLTSCALE at the default 1 with LTS at scale factor 1 as I want the dashed linetypes to updated accordingly to the scale. At the same time I don't want to have the sino linetype changed (keeping the sino linetype at constant 100mm width). Is there a way to control one linetype at MSLTSCALE = 0 and keep the rest of the linetypes at MSLTSCALE = 1.
I don't think it is possible as MSLTSCALE is for general setup. Instead I would have to forgo using the sino lintype and used a block instead. But a way to control an individual linetype scaling.

Jul 25, 2013I need to create a section of a 3d model. Unfortuntaly the layout tab I need is missing. Normally if somthing is missing I type 'CUI' and then click Ribbon>Tabs> select the one I want and drag it to 'Workspaces Contents' - 'Ribbon Tabs'
The ribbon tab for layout is missing from the cui. See attached images.

Apr 13, 2012Right-click on a layout tab, select Rename ... nothing.
It looks like it highlights the tab for a nanosecond then crosshairs appear with an empty command line.
I eventually renamed one tab by selecting rename like fifty-eleven times.

I am attempting to use the new Base View feature called Offset Section.
The 3D, solid, model has been created. I click on the Layout tab and there are only to panels showing: Layout and Layout Viewports. Four seem to have gone missing: Create View, Modify View, Update and Styles & Standards.
I have not made any changes to the CUI nor have I migrated settings from 2012.

I currently use a field in the titleblock that calls the system variable ctab, the problem is that whenever you update the fields, they all change to the name of the current tab, not the name of their own tab (by default, when you open the drawing, they all say Model).
I resort to building all of the layouts and converting that field to text prior to printing.

Jun 5, 2013I just recently started using AutoCAD again after using Inventor for several months, and I'm having a very difficult time with annotations. I'd like to annotate the proper way, and I believe that's from withing layout space. I have several small weld details that simply need to be laid out on this drawing. They're all drawn to 1:1 scale, and I'd like to use Viewports to scale them up or down as appropriate.
How to properly annotate dimensions, text, and weld details such that they will all appear of uniform size among all details, but will be associative with respect to the geometry of each detail? This is quite simple in Inventor simply because of how it's designed to work, but AutoCAD works very differently and I'm very unfamiliar with how to work with text styles and dimstyles and weld-symbol styles in this manner. I can't get my annotation styles to work right.

I received multiple(10 files, 2.5mb average) DXF file from source, and they need to input some layout of it to the base CAD Drawing file.My CAD file became huge (around 40mb) when I copy some of the layout from DXF. Do I need to save DXF file into CAD file before I copy some of their layout to get a lower file? I need to send the CAD file to the source for their copy.

So one viewport would show a section of the current drawing's modelspace, and the second viewport would show a a section of modelspace from another drawing? (and possibly update automatically like an XREF?) Or would the easiest way be to just XREF both drawings into a new drawing, and then show viewports from them in the new drawing?
