AutoCAD 2013 installed as expected but I can not run the Flash based introduction movies.
I am a new to AutoCAD, have never used to program before and would like to switching the "preferences" (which I can't find) to a better browser like Google Chrome.
Suggestion for Autodesk: Please dump IE in favor or propper browsers. IE has never and will never work properly.
In conclusion: How can I get the Flash videos to work. Where do I register the software?
Because of the above issues, I've installed AutoCAD 2013 on my iMac and everything is running as expected. I am more of a Linux/OS X user and have limited experience with Microsoft products.

Dec 19, 2011I had IT install our network version of IV 2012. That seemed to install flawlessly. I still have IV 2011 on my machine IV 2011 and will be running it for the time being.
My problem is when I try to get the iProperties I get this error. "Plugin not available or not properly installed. Notify the System Administrator that the installation is incomplete. DTCP"
We tried to repair/reinstall 2011 and then removed it and reinstalled, to no avail. I have not tried 2012 yet, as all our files need to be migrated to 2012.

Oct 2, 2012I have an assembly that was created on 64 bit version of Inventor 2013, the total file size of everything is around 150MB. Even if I use 'Pack and Go' to move the file to another computer running the 32 bit version I get an error when I try to open it which says something like:
'unable to allocate 3GB memory for FBAttributeSegment'
The actually figure is over 3GB but of course on a 32 bit version of windows it is physically impossible to allocate that amount of memory (even with the /3GB in boot.ini hack)
I've performed various dynamic simulations as well as animations within the assembly so I'm thinking that perhaps its trying to allocate that huge amount of memory for a saved state of one of those.
What FBAtributeSegment might be and whether there is any special way to save an assembly to avoid this problem? The name FBAttributeSegment doesn't correspond to any part or assembly names.
I should also add that I have no problem opening it in a 32 bit version of Fusion which again suggests to me that it is something like simulation or animation that is causing this

Mar 25, 2013So I just started at a new firm and they are using datalinks for the attic vent calculations. The table is in Excel and once filled out it should populate in the drawing. My CPU was an old employee's so it isn't new installed software but my datalink button says that Excel is not installed properly and will not let me edit the datalink in Autocad. I can however open the Excel file from the reference manager just fine and it opens. I have tried hard pathing and softpathing with no luck. Other people can insert it for me which they did in one file but I want to be operating at 100% like they are.

Aug 23, 2013I had trouble installing the program on Windows 7 after aborting on the first try when an error message about a font issue appeared and I wanted to find out more info. It took four retries, rebooting and adjusting my security settings I have it installed as a trial version (I think), but when I try to launch the program it goes through the initiallization process each time and then shuts down just as it is launching. Do I uninstall and start again from scratch? I have experience in installing 2000LT and 2004LT on various computers over the years with out ever having an installation issue.

It takes very long time for open dialog of Derived assembly, without SP1 it takes approx. 2mins. for assembly of 20000 instances, with SP1 it takes more than 2 hours! This we are able to reproduce on each of our station. And more, there is still not corrected bug with save setting of hole patching range. This setting does not remember min and max value and after re open this dialog the range is set back to default value 10-9999mm.
I have tried ti disable antivir and all unnecessary services - no effect.

Jun 19, 2013We are using C3D 2013 and have recently had 3 different episodes where a dwg file was open and being worked in, CAD shut down without warning and the drawing was lost. As in, it's gone. No longer on the network anywhere. These were 3 different drawings in different projects.The drawings were not new, they had been previously created and worked in by more than one user. We were able to find a backup file and did not lose every thing but still thinking there has to be something causing this. The machine is a Dell Precision T5600, 16 GB of RAM, only had it for a few months.
