We have a raster drawing that we're trying to vectorize using Raster Tools within Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite (Civil 3d) 2014. However the process is slow going having to convert each line within the raster drawing manually. Is there a way that Raster Tools can automatically vectorize all lines within the drawing instead of picking each and every line?
View 4 RepliesWhen opening a drawing that has corridor model xrefed in, the corridor section is not updating automatically.
If I reload the xref, it updates.
If I manually synchronize the alignment, it updates.
But just opening the drawing, it does not update.
I have even tried using the OTB tutorial drawings. Same problem.
Not having cross sections update automatically?

Working in 2013 Raster Design. The commands for raster tools are not working. When attempting to insert an image the following message appears:
c:program filesautodeskautocad raster design 2013aeciibui56.arx cannot find a dll or other file that it needs. Unknown command "IINSERT". Press F1 for help.
Similar messages appear when trying other commands located within the Raster Tools tab.
Is it possible to vectorize native PDF files within the AutoCAD 2013 environment. If yes how? Sample PDF file attached.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOne of our Dell workstations has recently decided it will no longer save our CAD drawings to the network. Never had this issue before this week, haven't changed anything that we are aware of. No one else is having network issues. We have connected the computer to a different network outlet at another station, that has no effect on the problem.
When you attempt to save, if you watch the command line it will tell you "Cannot save drawing to K/Work Order/Project/drawing name.dwg, saved copy to K/Work Order//Project/(misc letters and numbers).tmp"
It then deletes the original drawing from its location and saves this temp file.
I recently created a grading file in autocad civil 3d 2014 that contains grading objects. When I try to open the file on another computer that is using autocad civil 3d 2013, the file will not open and I get a fatal error. I audited, purged, recovered and tried about everything.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a 2011 template drawing that I've added all the information to that I know about how to survey in C3D. I've used it for a few years now and it works great for us. We now have to update it for used in 2014. IT has told me that I need to create a new 2014 drawing and bring the 2011 styles, groups, etc. into it that way. I used the management import tool to do this in 2014. Seems like all the styles, etc. came over just fine. Any way to test whether or not the template drawing has any garbage in it, such as purging and auditing, so all the bad stuff is gone? C3D - 2014
View 9 Replies View RelatedWe just installed 2014 on two work stations and saved a few Civil 3D files with it. When we try to open these Civil 3D drawings in 2013 they crash with a FATAL ERROR.
The last few lines on the command line shows: Loading Modeler DLLs.
Modeling Operation Error: Operation unsuccessful.

This error seems to only happen with drawings that have infill grading. I tested it with a drawing with just poly lines and it worked fine. I then converted those poly lines into feature lines using 2014 and it opened fine in 2013. I then added an infill to the feature line region in 2014 and it crashes in 2013.

When opening some drawing in Autocad 2014 it automatically creates thousands of layout out tabs which need to be deleted. This causes a huge problem while batch plotting.

I really thought it was because we were using XP 32 bit. We got an error message that we did not have enough RAM. After doing some research on this forum, I updated to Windows 7.

Everytime I bind/insert my title block the images dont bind in and also the file paths get deleted. Asked most of the drafters I know and everyone says it cant be done, which is what i think.
Normally I would use a CAD version of the Logos (for the client/architect,etc.) but sometime there isnt one available so have to use raster images.
I imported the .dwg file from ArchiCAD 12 to my AutoCAD 2008.
The problem is that, there are some dots (Autocad recognizes it as "raster image") all over the drawing. And I need to delete them manually each one of them.
Is there way I could do this automatically? Is there a way to select all the "raster images" at once, and then delete them?
Having this dialogue box pop up every time i print. Not sure what a raster view is and how I should be turning it on /off.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI created a 3D raster surface from point cloud using create from point cloud tool ( Planning and analysis workspace, create tab). Now I would like to cut/slice this surface to be able to offset one part related to the other.
How to do it? I tried with the slice tool but I can only select the object and after nothing happens.
I'm using C3D 2013 on a 64 bit windows 7 machine. I have basejump loaded, and when I first installed it there would be a "Raster" tab in the ribbon that would allow me to resample, etc. That tab is now gone. How to get it back?
I used to click on a point to select it and a new tab would show up in the ribbon to list points, edit points, etc. That doesn't come up anymore either.
I am trying to increase the memory limit to my raster options and it wont let me change the size. I have plenty of available memory(mb) to use, but after i restart civil 3d and go back to the same options menu, its back to what it was..

After installing Update 2.1 for Civil 3D, Raster doesn't seem to be working. When I go to use a Raster function, I get
FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x01b8 Exception at 6e545df5h.
I've tried repairing and re-installing Raster and nothing has changed.
I've been trying to get the Raster Design Object Enabler for Civil 3D 2011 64 Bit to install, but every time I run the exe it says there is no target application to be found, even though Civil 3D 2011 64 Bit is quite clearly installed on the machine.
View 8 Replies View RelatedTwo different plot settings (saved as page setups) will produce different results for exactly the same 34"x22" output. I have been bucking this problem since I started using AutoCAD C3D. I have a program to adjust the label scaling of my point labels so they are readable in both model space and layouts and when non-raster plotters are used, but now I must adapt it for other C3D labels before I can use them.
Below is my setup for plotting ANSI-D (34"x22") TIFF files at 288dpi. I have been using this plot device and setup almost exclusively since about 2001. The output is 9792 pixels x 6336 pixels which is set as a custom paper size to match my 288 dpi resolution (it is 288dpi because that is a multiple of 72dpi which is the default resolution of AutoCAD's TIFF raster output. It is 72dpi regardless of the fact that the plot scale is specified as 288 pixels = 1 unit or 288dpi). I must reset the dpi to 288 using image software so the resulting PDF will have a size of 34"x22" instead of 136"x88". You can see in the preview output I captured that their size difference cannot be attributed to these size differences. The plots are of the exact same layout showing point labels with only the page setup changed.

I have a set of four images I am referencing into a drawing through the data connect feature found in Planning and analysis that overlap. I am running Civil 3D 2013. I would like to be able to clip the images as well as turn off the transparency but I can't seem to figure out how. If you select the images cadd thinks it is an image referenced outside of Data connect, but the clipping tool doesn't work, and it doesn't even matter if you de-select print transparency in the page setup, it still prints transparent. Is there another set of commands or tools that I am not aware of that allows you to edit an image brought in through the data connect?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy issue right now that I can't seem to find an answer to is it seems that when a certain engineer in my office opens a drawing at her computer and saves it, the drawing is slightly "twisted" i guess you could say.
I have a fix to this issue, for example, I use DVIEW and change the points to 0,0,0 and 0,0,1. Which works just fine and fixes it. But for some strange reason it seems like after she opens the file and saves it, the target point usually ends up as something like 1.35454,2.5664721,0.0000076 And I know that the last coordinate is what causes the problem.
I'm just curious if there may be a variable or something set on her computer that would keep causing that to happen when she opens a drawing so that I can set it back to default and eliminate the time spent on running the DVIEW command on every drawing that she opens.
I have a drawing that draws from a .dxf template, this drawing is for a piece that travels along on a basket. Often times there's more than one "traveler" so in order for me to differentiate each traveler I added an "XX of XX" on the template, the XX's referring to the traveler number and the total travelers (i.e. 01 of 03).
Before I print out the sheet I have to replace the XX's with the real numbers then I can print it, so if theres 45 travelers i have manually click each time and then type the number in, 01 of 45, 02 of 45, 03 of 45... 45 of 45. Is there a way I can get this process automated like where I'm asked how many sheets I need then it automatically populates the sheet?
AutoCAD LT 2014...Any way to turn off the bar near the top that shows what drawings I have open? I like to use a clean looking CAD screen and this is an entire line of stuff I don't need to see. Yes, I'm still using the AutoCAD LT classic workspace (modified of course).
