AutoCad :: Automatically Change Numbers In A Drawing
Dec 21, 2012
I have a drawing that draws from a .dxf template, this drawing is for a piece that travels along on a basket. Often times there's more than one "traveler" so in order for me to differentiate each traveler I added an "XX of XX" on the template, the XX's referring to the traveler number and the total travelers (i.e. 01 of 03).
Before I print out the sheet I have to replace the XX's with the real numbers then I can print it, so if theres 45 travelers i have manually click each time and then type the number in, 01 of 45, 02 of 45, 03 of 45... 45 of 45. Is there a way I can get this process automated like where I'm asked how many sheets I need then it automatically populates the sheet?
Sometimes Photoshop automatically change my font sizes to uneven numbers. For instance 12 pt changes to 11,98 pt. Why and what could be done to avoid this? Also XY positions of objects in Illustrator get changed to sligtly different numbers like 9,98 px.
I've got a customer that needs 1000 serialized artwork for a project. Is there a way in CorelDraw to layout a series of artwork and have the numbers automatically change from 0001 to 1000?
If i had a file called example.jpg already saved in a folder how can i get Photoshop to save the same image again but as example(1).jpg (or similar). At the moment it will just save over the original file if i don't change the name .
Is it possible to automatically add numbers to faces in a picture?Next step is to insert the picture in a Word file where I can create a legend which tells which number in the picture is who.I understand that I need to insert the picture twice in the Word doment, 1: the original without numbers, 2: the numbered version with the legend.
I am playing with the book module and I love it. Hwever, I wonder whether there is a possibility to automatically create captions that show the date of the creation of a picture. More generally any subset of the Exif data would be welcome. This is possible for slideshows, but I could not figure out how to do this with book pages.
Is there a way to automatically insert page numbers?
I need to export with artboard. Illustrator automatically adds a number to my original file name. It won't even let me replace the old file. It is extremely annoying and makes flow with other programs really hard because they can't auto update, since the file name changes. When you have multiple files, you can't be manually renaming all the time.
When I open an drawing, AutoCAD opens *two* drawings, the one I wanted *plus* a new one (called drawing 1.)Why does this happen and can it be prevented?
I've made a big calculation in a Pipe Stress Analysis program and the program has auto created 10 autocad drawings that is used to find points in the system. The problem is that the program has random numbered (with no intelligence) and now I have a big report which for example points at a number some where in the 10 drawings, which is hopeless to find.
Can I somehow:
1. Find all numbers in this drawing. 2. Put them into Excel. 3. Sort them after size. 4. Add an extra column which tells which drawing I can find the number. 5. Last put all the numbers from all the drawing into one Excel sheet and sort them after size, now I have a number index, so I can find which number is in which drawing.
Can Autocad find all numbers in a drawing and let me copy them to Excel for editing?
I am having trouble putting sheet size and scale together to find out the drawing area. For example, if the scale is 1"=2" and the sheet size is 17"x11" what would the drawing area be?
I have subroutine that retrieves a list of detail numbers in a drawing. Sometimes there are missing numbers. I am looking to find a list of any missing numbers.
Example -
(setq List_DN (list 1 2 3 5 6 7 10 11 12 17))
Missing numbers are - 4,8,9,13,14,15,16
I would like a subroutine to take the List_DN are return the following missing numbers as text
I am trying to link my parts list to a drawing however all balloons have different numbers.
I open the assembly and check everything out from vault I open my bom and change item numbers. When I get back to my drawing and apply for auto balloon I get completely different item numbers in my balloons. We just updated our software to a new 2012 version so it's maybe something with set up.
Is there a way to sync callout numbers to correspond with note numbers. When I add or delete notes in my drawings it takes to much time to update the callout number in the drawings. I need to figure out a way for the note and corresponding callout to change at the same time.
I am working on a project that involves animated gauge readouts. There are several sets of numbers across different areas screen that need to change, along with other gizmos and needles. I got the gizmos and needles' movement covered, but the changing numbers are tough.
for instance:
33 to 32 to 31, etc.
12:53 to 12:54
00182.7 to 00182.8
and so on...
I am running max 8. I downloaded and installed counter text but how to use it.
I'm currently working on a project which involves over 16 artboards in the same document, though when i want to change the order of the artboards [for saving as a PDF] i have to move all my artboards content to new artboard, etc.etc. This is really annoying, especially when i want to insert a new artboard between some excisting ones.
So is it possible to somehow change the order of the artboards, or they numbers [basically the same]?
My issue right now that I can't seem to find an answer to is it seems that when a certain engineer in my office opens a drawing at her computer and saves it, the drawing is slightly "twisted" i guess you could say.
I have a fix to this issue, for example, I use DVIEW and change the points to 0,0,0 and 0,0,1. Which works just fine and fixes it. But for some strange reason it seems like after she opens the file and saves it, the target point usually ends up as something like 1.35454,2.5664721,0.0000076 And I know that the last coordinate is what causes the problem.
I'm just curious if there may be a variable or something set on her computer that would keep causing that to happen when she opens a drawing so that I can set it back to default and eliminate the time spent on running the DVIEW command on every drawing that she opens.
I have a number of areas numbered 1,2,3......etc but I need to change the text to the following where only the last number that is underlined is to increase sequentially.
P23/L2/1
Could Tcount be used or is there a modified version available?
If not is there a quick way to automatically place a number block onto a drawing with a click and then for every other click sequentially increases the last number.
I could not get the code to work for me, and I am not a programmer or pretend to be. I need to take a model and create a dwg with ilogic. It only needs to be one flat pattern view and one isometric view.
I also need it to have center marks for all the holes and I need to add certain dimensions.
How can I automatically get point coordinates and show it in drawing. For example I have 100 points and I need to write x and y coordinates right next to the point. (not in table or somewhere else).I guess I need a plugin or smth?
We have a raster drawing that we're trying to vectorize using Raster Tools within Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite (Civil 3d) 2014. However the process is slow going having to convert each line within the raster drawing manually. Is there a way that Raster Tools can automatically vectorize all lines within the drawing instead of picking each and every line?
Is there a way in AutoCAD 2013 to have it automatically change to a certain layer when you do common tasks. I am wondering if there is a system variable, or a routine that I could automatically load when I start AutoCAD to do this. It would also be nice that the layer would then go back to the original layer that was being used prior to the command. What are my options for doing this.
For instance when I load an xref I would like it to go on the layer; A-XREF. When I insert a block I would like it to go on the layer; 0, when I create a new dimension I would like it to go on the A-DIMS layer, when I create a hatch it would set to the layer A-WALL-PATT, when I add a leader with text it would go to A-ANNO-NOTE, etc..
I like to keep the properties of my drawing the same as those of my model. Currently I must remember to hit the "updat copied properties" button in the drawing to discard any old drawing properties and replace them with the properties from the model.
Is there any way to automate this task (perhaps on saving the drawing?) I presume an iLogic rule could be created in the drawing template, just not sure how to go about it.
All renumbered items become in blue cells in Part List properties table.
All added or altered after that Part Properties are not shown in this Part List.
For instance if I would add or change some Description, Comments or other properties to some parts which are in “blue” cells those will be not updated in neither auto nor any manual way.
So far I should delete and create the table again to see new added properties.
The question is: Is there are any other more simple ways to update the Part List table without recreating it from scratch?
How to automatically print the layers of a drawing in separate sheets in one go?
I wanted to print the layers of a particular drawing each in separate sheet but wondering if there might be an automated way to do so. For example, if I a particular drawing comprise 15 layers then how to print each one of these layers in a separate sheet.
Sure, there might be more than one way to achieve this (like controlling the “plot” feature on the “layer properties manager” but what I’m looking for is an automated way to print all the 15 layers separately in one go.
