AutoCad :: Attach Raster Image So It Is Part Of Drawing And Travels With It
Jul 3, 2012
Can I attach a raster image so it is part of a drawing and travels with it. If so, how do I do it? I realize it would increase file size. I often add reference .jps to my drawings for the shop. I'd like to be sure that when the file is moved to a different folder or archived it includes the image.
Is there anyway to bind a raster image to a drawing?
Everytime I bind/insert my title block the images dont bind in and also the file paths get deleted. Asked most of the drafters I know and everyone says it cant be done, which is what i think.
Normally I would use a CAD version of the Logos (for the client/architect,etc.) but sometime there isnt one available so have to use raster images.
I have imported a raster image into a drawing and it has a border around the exterior of the picture. When I plot it the exterior line shows up as a line and I want it to not show up on the plot. Is this possible?
I want to rename the RasterImage Files to Match the Drawing Naming Convention Plus a Suffix.
In this case _A, _B, _C etc.
And update that in the Drawing.
Public Shared Sub RenameRasterImagesAndReattachToDrawing(ByVal FilePath As String) Dim sNewName As String = "" Dim iImg As Integer = 0 Dim Suffix As String = "A" Dim myDwgIO As New IO.FileInfo(FilePath) 'Get FileName from Full FilePath '<<<1. Locate Raster Images 'Autocad Database Adapter 'Read Autocad File Silently without opening file on Screen Dim myDoc As [Code].....
I am trying to attach a dgn to my drawing and cannot seem to get it to come in correctly. It is coming in about 4.5 feet off, My units in the micro station drawing are set to US survey feet, and I have my units set in my drawing to engineering and unitless, I have tried feet and that did not solve the problem either .
I have Autocad Civil 3d 2011 and recently the software was corrupted so our IT guy reinstalled everything. Now when I attempt to attach a PDF I get an error box that reads
This file cannot be opened.
The problem can be caused by several things:
- The data in the file is corrupted
- The file is an earlier format that is no longer supported
- The file format is not supported
Try to obtain a better copy of the file, recreate the file using
different settings, or convert the file to a supported file format.
Now before the reinstall, I never had an issue...never saw this message before and have attached hundreds of PDFs to drawing. The only thing I will add is around the time of the reinstall, I also had installed NITRO PDF software. I believe this installation came after the problems started...just cant remember, so I wanted to throw that out just in case.
I'm trying to attach several .pdf files into a drawing. Files that were sent to me attach with no problem, but when I scan sheets in using an HP LaserJetPro Printer/Scanner I get the following error:
PDFATTACH - Invalid Error
The problem can be caused by several things:
-The data in the file is corrupted
-The file is from an earlier format yadda yadda
-The file format is not supported
Try to obtain a better copy of the file, recreate the file using different settings or convert to a supported file format.
When I check the properties of the files I can attach -vs- the files I can not attach, I find no difference in version, security details etc., so I'm pretty sure the problem isn't that the file isn't supported of from an earlier version. I've tried several different files from my scanner and none will attach. I have also tried scanning using different settings with no joy.
AutoCAD 2012LT, SP1 Windows 7 Ultimate SP1, 64 bit HP Scan HP U CM1410 MFP Series Scan Adobe Acrobat Standard V 9.4.6
whenever I click to attach a drawing reference nothing happens. I don't get the browse to file window.
I've tried using the GUI from the View menu / Palettes panel/external palette, Also from the command prompt by typing external references and attach still no joy.
I have all SPs installed. I tried exporting another user's profile and importing it to my CAD. Do I have to reinstall the software from scratch?
how do I attach or insert a drawing from one dwg file into another dwg file? I'm drawing some and i want a site plan off of a different file i just want to take it and but it in my new drawing without have to draw the site plan over
I am having an issue with Autodesk Map 3D 201164 bit and Autocad Raster Design 64 bit. Everytime we insert a raster file into a drawing. The laptop freezes. I really thought it was because we were using XP 32 bit. We got an error message that we did not have enough RAM. After doing some research on this forum, I updated to Windows 7.
I imported the .dwg file from ArchiCAD 12 to my AutoCAD 2008.
The problem is that, there are some dots (Autocad recognizes it as "raster image") all over the drawing. And I need to delete them manually each one of them.
Is there way I could do this automatically? Is there a way to select all the "raster images" at once, and then delete them?
We have a raster drawing that we're trying to vectorize using Raster Tools within Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite (Civil 3d) 2014. However the process is slow going having to convert each line within the raster drawing manually. Is there a way that Raster Tools can automatically vectorize all lines within the drawing instead of picking each and every line?
Working in 2013 Raster Design. The commands for raster tools are not working. When attempting to insert an image the following message appears:
c:program filesautodeskautocad raster design 2013aeciibui56.arx cannot find a dll or other file that it needs. Unknown command "IINSERT". Press F1 for help.
Similar messages appear when trying other commands located within the Raster Tools tab.
how to distribute vector or raster evenly within a specific part of my canvas, i can get it done evenly to the width of the canvas. for example i want about 4 rectangles in just a section of my canvas at the same distance from each other.
When attach image (tif) with no path. is saved, de image will be saved without a path. dir. Only when we change the image (with RasterCAD) when we now save the drawing the hole path dir. will be saved.
When we used AutoCAD 2006 this will not be the case. The tiff. will stay no path. We move/copy drawing with image to other dir. very often.
-Originel ... dwg/tif
-To-Built ... dwg/tif
-As-Built .... dwg/tif
Problem is that the image will be saved in the wrong dir.
well i have a problem on solving an autoCAD homework . i have a pdf with the contours of the altitude of an area and i have to rasterize it as an image in AutoCAD 2006 (i put it on windows paint , then i save it as an img (jpg) ) and then i inserted it in AutoCAD. I have to georeference that image and to fix its scale. How can i do that ?
I want to draw a ellipse with the mouse trajectory, just like draw Raster Image. Then Calculate the ellipse parameters and get a Data Base Object ellipse to add in!
How can I make a raster image transparent? I would like to see image #2 below image #1 by making image #1 semi-transparent. I can make one specific color in the image transparent..I am working from a scanned image in jpeg format. I would think it should be easy because any Microsoft Office program can do it. I have searched through multiple Autodesk discussion boards to no avail.
What do you think it's better between Attach JPEG image vs Embed OLE Objects in Cad Drawings? I have used OLE Object in the past and i problem i have is that, I can't rotate OLE object/image i can scale and move. i can't clip OLE obj. For Attach JPEG or PDF when someone accidently delete the JPEG which were attached out of the computer then when i open the file it will show "Not found" on the external Ref. this won't happen in OLE obj. i tried not to use either of these methods above because it increases the size of the dwg but this is how the Co Worker wants for this project. The drawing size is less than 1000KB not too bad.
Having trouble with sending drawings out in dwg format with photographs on, ok with pdf's. Ihave tried different methods, copied and pasted photos, (made sure they are small file size). I have tried to attach image in x-ref manager, is there a way to bind the photos into the drawing?
I have sent drawing out but lost images, also i sent drawing out zipped up with folder with photos. Using relative path, i still cant get it to work. What is correct method to insert images into a drawing so they are bound in? is there a way.
I have a problem with a drawing, containing aerial images.
If I try to plot it as PDF, using "Adobe PDF" or "PDF-Creator" as printer, I see green areas in my PDF. Here the result:
If I use the AutoCAD Printer "DWG to PDF.pc3", there is no problem. Here the result:
For the creating of PDF files I can use the AutoCAD printer, that is no problem, but I have the same Problem if i try to plot a drawing with aerial images on a Plotter (HP 1050C) or any other printer in our office.
I'm having an issue where the more I zoom into a drawing that has a raster image (a 1mb jpg) in it, regenerating times become increasingly long until the whole program just freezes. When I zoom back out, it's fine.
I've tried changing the file type, saving it with a different program, lowering the quality to Draft, zooming in on an area that the raster image wasn't in, lowering the DPI of the image, nothing works. I've spent the last two hours searching Google for a fix, found nothing. The only thing that seems to work is if I put the image on a layer and freeze it. The problem there is, I'm tracing over the image, so it being invisible makes it rather difficult to work with.
I'm still learning some of the basics in the AutoCAD Map features. Most of my work has been using a map that is connected to data. My raster image is connected to a Sid file which covers more area than I usually need to work with.
What is the best way to work with a small area at a time? I cannot seem to imageclip the connected raster image.
I have a small raster image (png) xrefed to an Autocad 2012 dwg. The image is on its own layer and the transparency of the layer is set to 60%.
When I select TPY the image displays correctly on the screen (i.e. semi-transparent). When I tick Plot transparency in the Plot dialog box and send the plot to our HP Designjet 800 the raster image prints exactly as I want (semi-transparent).
However when I use the Autodesk pdf writer (Dwg to pdf) the resulting pdf does not have the semi transparent appearance and the raster image appears in all its brilliant color even though it displays correctly (i.e. semi-transparent) in Print Preview. And, yes, I have ticked the Plot transparency box before seeing it to the pdf writer. Other autocad entities such as plines which are semi transparent are fine, its only the raster image that seems to lose its semi-transparent quality.
