Jun 22, 2011I'm using Autocad 2011 and When I'm working in a viewport in paper space, I isolate a layer, work on it, then unisolate it, CAD will automatically turn off (with the lightbulb) all the other layers that I'm not using in that current viewport. This means that every time I'm done editing a certain viewport, I have to go back to my model space, and turn back on all the rest of the layers in my drawing (with the lightbulb) so I can work in a different viewport with different layers. Is this just a bug in my version? or is there some way to stop this?

Mar 30, 2013I'm trying to delete a unused layer. But when I do that I get the following error (see attachment). I googled a bit and figured out that the LAYDEL command might solve my issue, but as I'm using Autocad 2013, that's not possible, as it doesn't have this command...
The block that causes the error can also be deleted, I tried with the purge command, but must be doing something wrong cause it didn't work. Oh yeah, with regard to the purge command, I see it this way (attachment 2), how can you display it in a window kind of view to get a better overview?
Maya Modeling :: 2014 Isolate Select For Polyfaces Does Not Work?
Mar 6, 2014If I create a polysphere and make a part of the sphere invisible via isolate select, the hidden faces are still selected if I try to select faces. They are activated as if they were visible. And the invisible faces are selected if I to a click for face selection.

Dec 13, 2012I've been using AutoCAD 2013 Korean in Windows XP and Windows 7(32/64bit).
I have a question the command prompt.
The line have the name of layer : 0 (default layer)
I create another layer. It's unicode
And I will change name of layer 0 to 도면층1.
But I can not input unicode character to command prompt.
But It was changed from property dialog.
Can I input unicode character from command prompt?.
Previous version(AutoCAD 2008,2009,2010,2012) CAD worked well.

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Annotation Command Set Correct Layer For Duration Of Command
Nov 21, 2010I am currently writing a series of routines for setting the layers for text, leaders and dimension commands. The end goal is a system where any annotation command sets the correct layer for the duration of the command, then reverts back to the layer that was active before the command.
I have managed to complete all the code, and it appears to be working fine, I just have one question: I have used -layer "m" "Lay_name" etc... for all layer setting commands, rather than any code to see if the layer exists already. In my limited testing this seems to be suitable, nothing that exists on that layer seems to be affected.
I know how to write code to determine if the layer exists already and set the layer instead, but so far it seems unnecessary??

May 15, 2012I press CTRL+9 to make the Command Line disappear while drawing. When I plot (or when doing a plot preview) , the Command Line appears again by itself. So I always have to turn the Command Line off manually after each plot
The bug still happens;
- if Dynamic Input is turned off or on
- if I plot to a real device or in PDF
- if the Cammand Line Palette i docked or floating.
This is not an issue in AutoCAD 2012 so I guess it has to do with the new way they programmed the revamped Command Line palette in 2013.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Extend Command Doesn't Work
Mar 10, 2012I have a 3d drawing file which I manually flattened except the section. The ground plan is at 0 Z axis.
Now I am trying to draw lines on top of it, and I cannot extend my lines. Any solution to this?
Additional question:
I also had some difficulties when I was trying to flatten the 3d model. "Flatten" command did not work. I understand Flatshot did not work because these are not solids. But why Flatten did not work? That was why I had to manually change start and end of z position.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Open Command Doesn't Work
Apr 27, 2010the user is running C3D. He can only open a drawing if its in the previously open files list or he can open with Explorer. If he clicks the open toolbar or selects open from the menu or even types it at the command prompt, nothing happens. It seems to be trying to do something because the command prompt doesn't come back unless he escapes. If he instead hits enter, he gets a message that says it can't find the file specified - even though he never got a chance to specify anything. It's not FILEDIA and he has rebooted. It's also not hiding the open dialog box behind the acad screen.

Mar 26, 2013I have some mulitleaders in paperspace that lost their associativity with objects in model space. _dimreassociate will work with to reattach a leader arrowhead to a model object but the command doesn't work with multileaders.
