View 2 RepliesI am trying to do a bitmap trace of an image. The resulting vector is OK, except that, between every shape of a single color, there is a line, and that line is made a color, either transparent, or a specified color - and thickness.
The preview creates a desired result, but the end product is the problem. When I click on the vector, I can change the color of the lines between the colors in the vector, and in the dockers, I can change the thickness to "none" but a line still exists between the shapes. The previews are just fine, what can I do to make this guy not look like a puzzle? Its as if the shapes in the vector do not touch each other. The previews show no lines between the shapes/colors, except in the final output.
When I copy and paste an image from Word .docx files they comr in blurry. I have a client who sends me drawing images that have been scanned and pasted into word .docx files. In Word the images are of high resolution, crisp and easy to read. When I copy the images and paste them into AutoCAD 2013 they are quite blurry and almost un-readable. Any way to retain the image resolution
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn 2011 max design, i was able to create windows (frame, glass etc) in the top view by tracing over imported cad lines. i could then group those components, rotate them 90 degrees to orient them properly, then create a plane at 0" on the z-axis and align that group to the plane in the z-axis min/min. so the rotated window group would rise upward and the bottom of the window group would be at 0" in the z-axis. now, now matter what combination of things i try, i can't get the group to do that. i have to un-group and align each component individually.
I just tried it by creating 3 boxes all smaller than the previously created one and as soon as i group it, the min-min align doesn't work when those 3 boxes are grouped. individualy it work, but then of course the smaller boxes line up at 0 in the z-axis too.

I´m running Inventor 2013 under Windows 7 64-bit.
Nvidia GTX 680 did not work with GPU accelerated ray-tracing in Inventor 2013. I replaced it with a GTX 580 GPU card, exact same result. Either I´m just doing something wrong, or it plain does not work.
Are there any consumer grade GPU cards that work with the ray-tracing functionality in Inventor 2013?
dashed lines are showing as continuous in both model and paperspace the property tab shows the linetype as by layer when i click on the line and under the layers proper manager the linetype for the layer says dashed
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am currently using the visual style "Wireframe" and cannot seem to figure out why my lines won't plot out as dashed lines even though they are dashed in my layout. I have been playing around with my LTSCALE,PSLTSCALE but nothing seems to be working.

Edge Settings: Facet Edges
Occluded Edges: Yes

I have drawn figure1 with rectangle and press/pull command. I have drawn figure2 with line command. I want to trim the lines of figure1 which are shown in red color in figure2.How to do this?

Is there a workaround to make this happen? I used to do this all the time in 2008.
I couldn't attach the file 'cause it wss too big so I saved it as a PDF but now I can't attach that because it is not a DWG
How do I attach a PDF?
I need to crop image in autocad, path for croping is made of lines and arcs and one picture needs to be croped with circle. Is it possible to crop this way?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis problem has just started to occur and frankly, I'm totally stuck. When I created 3d objects to represents conduits runs in a building, they worked fine. However, when I saved and reopened my file, the objects are shown in different locations, yet their snap points (endpoints, midpoints, arcs, etc) are shown in the correct location. I have attached an image showing what I mean to clarify. I am using Autocad 2014 and Civil 3D 2014.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have used Microstation before and just used Autocad for 1 month.I am field surveyor and use Autocad for plotting stake out or other measurements. When I have to deliver a pdf drawning, there are 2 important things:
- It's have to be clear to see what I have done
- it's important to see the drawing I used to do job.
Making a new drawing with my measurements on it.To make it readable for the end user, I am using fading (transparency) on my referenced drawing. It is looking fine on the screen, but not on the plot.
On the plot all the colours are coming back to the original (before I change the transparency)I try to look on the plot style, but obviously it is not possible to change the settings for the referenced file, just for the all drawing.
What I am looking for is how to plot what I see on the screen (WYSIWYG)?I have looked for a solution on internet (can read english, danish & french) but I didn't find the solution yet!I would like to know how I can solve this problem?
I have to add, that I have several working sites with a lot of drawings, so I am looking for an easy/quick solution.
In my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013, I created a parcel from 4 lines. I selected the parcel (Property : 1) to get the Properties tab and edited the Style of my parcel: (i) changed Property : 1 to NewLOT : 1 in Name. (ii) added 22.5 mg/Kg Arsenic; 33.6 mg/Kg Lead; 66.9 mg/Kg Mercury to Description. In the drawing area, NewLOT : 1 appears, but, there are no 22.5 mg/Kg Arsenic, 33.6 mg/Kg Lead, 66.9 mg/Kg Mercury shown up below the NewLOT: 1 line - see the attached file. how to bring the chemical data from the Description of my parcel to the drawing area.

I am considering using GIMP 2.8 on my system with Mac OS X 10.6.8 to do thefollowing:
(1) Digitise a photograph by tracing over parts of it with lines. The photocould be, say, the roots of a tree. The lines would be colour codeddepending on the state of what they are over. I.e. roots in one state getstraced with one colour, while roots in another state would get a differentcolour. In the end I might end up with a bunch of lines, with the differentcolours of lines organised in different layers.
(2) Calculate the relative proportion of lines of a certain colour to thetotal length of all lines.
To do the above, I am wondering if GIMP has the ability to calculate thelength of lines drawn over an image (in, say, number of pixels). This way, Ican obtain the total pixel length all lines put together, and the totalpixel length of, say, just the blue lines.
Do you think GIMP is suitable for this kind of image analyses? Or should Iuse a vector based program like Inkscape?
I use Illustrator CC.I have made a custom Image Tracing Preset and want to use it on a folder containing a sequence of pictures I want all to vectorize automatically. Programming an Action isn't an option as the Action recorder doesn't record which tracing preset is used for image tracing. I found I can use the pre-installed Image Tracing Script [URL] in which I only need to specify the correct number of the Image Tracing Preset. And that became a big problem.

i'm wondering how to trace a JPEG imagine and make a copy of the original image 20mm bigger all the way around so i can cut the larger image out and engrave the inner image

I am doing image tracing - and when placing it into a recorded action, it only does the default tracing settings. Is there a way to adjust these?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using Photoshop CS2 for many years and have constantly "lived with" a bug in Bridge whereby, instead of an image thumbnail, there is just an icon shown.
This is the same icon that appears before Bridge has read all the images to produce the thumbnails - but some of them get "stuck" and there seems to be no way to make Bridge "read" the image and produce the thumbnail. Pressing "View" "Refresh" (or PF5) does not work. Is there any fix I can download for this?
I have Windows 7 and recently unistalled PSE 10 and it did not have this issue; Now Photoshop CS6 is displaying the menu dropdowns as shown in Image 1. Bridge CS6 does not have the issue;it is showing the menu bars correctly (see Image 2). I downloaded and installed all updates.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe example I use in this question has already been solved by friendly posters here and this is not a rehash... just using the materials at hand to illustrate the point. The effort here was to remove the trailing shadows shown in the first image (at the included URL below).
In that thread 2 posters showed how to do this using a completely different approach. That is, using Arrange/Apply ClipView..However, I used the help manual to try to do this, at a section headed Combining Shapes
When subtracting, intersecting and slicing, you can either use the topmost selected shape to do the "cutting" of the lower shapes, or you can use a mask.To use a mask to cut shapes, first select the shapes and then turn on mask mode. All objects except for the selected shapes disappear while mask mode is on.
Then draw your cutting shape using the main drawing tools (Freehand Tool, Shape Editor, Rectangle Tool, etc.) or paste the shape if you already drew it and copied it. Then select the Arrange->Combine Shapes operation. The mask shape is used to cut the shapes underneath. I never did see anything describing the details of how to do the cutting with one of the shapes already in the composition so I went the mask route, which is explained there.
So I selected all, then went to mask mode, drew a rectangle (at the right in 2nd screen grab below) then Arrange/Combine shapes/ and none of those selections: Add, subtract, intersect and slice... appear to do a darned thing to the objects.
In LR4 the Library Filters showed the image count in each category.
No longer shows in LR5.
Is there a preference I can change or is this just an oversight/bug?
I have many inline formulas (imported from Word file via using mathtype) in PDF article made by ID. But when I export the articles as HTML, the images for formulas become much larger than shown in PDF version. How can i keep the exported images to the same size as they are shown the PDF file? I know I can edit the html file to specify image size, but that is the ideal work flow.
