I have many inline formulas (imported from Word file via using mathtype) in PDF article made by ID. But when I export the articles as HTML, the images for formulas become much larger than shown in PDF version. How can i keep the exported images to the same size as they are shown the PDF file? I know I can edit the html file to specify image size, but that is the ideal work flow.
View 3 RepliesI have many documents I need to convert to HTML. I need the images in the documents to be links. This has worked fine, according to normal procedures if the images are png, jpg, or gifs. However, most of my images are not those formats. So if I have an eps, pdf, and tiff in my document, upon html export, there is no hyperlink. That is, the <a href></a> tags are not in the HTML at all. But if I convert the images to png, jpeg, or gifs, put them in my document, then choose that file format for conversion, the links work fine.
I want to say there is an issue with the link tags upon file conversion. It could be something else, but I am not sure why it works for certain file formats and not others. I figured ID would keep the association with the hyperling after converting an image from say and eps to jpg. Any way to keep hyperlinks for images after exporting to HTML.
(I can obviously add the link tags myself in the HTML, or convert the images myself and put them in the docs, but I have many documents and would like some automated way.)
I have a design in PS CS4 and want to export slices for the web. In the export preview the estimated filesize for the slice is ~200 bytes, however after the export the file size is 4kb.
I have 3-4 small background slices with gradinet and size is 1x200px so the estimated size seems to be ok.
I have alos tried to export in .png and in .gif as well. In all cases the estimation is 200-400 bytes but the result is always ~4kb.
I have my artboard set to 700 px x 700 px. When I export as PNG the file is 2917 px x 2917 px. Why isn't it the size I set?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an image where I desaturated most of the image, with a lot of small brush strokes around an intricate tattoo. I also applied other saturation and hue adjustments. Upon exporting as a jpg, the image size is 3mb, compared to file sizes of 400-500kb for images without so much manipulation. How do I "flatten" the image to get smaller file sizes?

I have a few pages with scrollable text frames applied with the folio overlays panel. When I export the document as a SWF file, the scrollable text frames are rendered inactive. Is there a way to export as a SWF and keep the scrollable text frames intact? I do not want to export as an interactive PDF because of the use of animation.

This isn't a PDF that's been emailed or moved between computers, this is right after I export from InDesign on my home PC.

I am checking the size of a photo as it needs to be as near as dammit to 10MB. this is it in Photoshop So it's 9.92MB. But this is what is shown when I select the folder it's in and to go list view (its the picture at the very top of list) / 1.9MB! Which is correct?

I´ve managed to import it to excel and get it a bit less overwhelming. The idea Im working on right now is to try and format it in excel and then import to indesign and link the styles.
I am having a difficult time getting my eps files that I have created in X5 to separate once I export them to Indesign CS4 . . . when I try to separate the file on all my postscript 2 & 3 printers machines I don't get any separations . . instead I receive a page with ERROR: dictstackoverflow OFFENDING COMMAND: begin . . I am using spot colours. . .I can import the eps file into Corel 11 and Illustrator CS4 and they work fine once I reexport them . . I can export out of X5 as a pdf and it works fine . . . I do have Ghostscript installed .

I like in CS6 when I use the marquee to select, as I am dragging it is actively showing me the size I am selecting in pixels (what you can find in the info panel).Is there a way to have this in CS5.5? It is a lot easier than always opening the info panel.

i just noticed that changing the PPI from 240 (taken with my Canon) to 100 and exporting the photos to JPEG sized as 2MP have no change at all in size. Shouldn't 100PPI be smaller in size?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have something going on when I export from Illustrator as a PSD using the artboard. It ends up with a line of transparency around the edges, and is larger than the size of the art exported. It gains about .01 inch around the edges, and when I use 'trim transparent pixels' in Photoshop, it trims it down so it has only gained .07 inches around the edges, but doesn't lose the last line of pixels that are semi-transparent. I am using a script that exports it, then re-imports it and places it in the Illustrator file, effectively swapping the vector for raster. It's part of a larger process I have no control of, so the process is not something I can change, otherwise I wouldn't do that.
Why is it exporting with this line of transparency on the edges? It's causing white lines to show up in the file that it gets reimported to. Until now it was ok because it only shows in the bleed, which gets trimmed off. From now on, though, this process is supposed to be used for non-bleed items, and the white lines are showing up.
I have an action in which it will place an image onto an image like a watermark, when i place the image, it is not center by center so i drag it or use keyboard arrows to center and then press enter, then i saw its on the center, but when i save it, the saved image is not on the center, how was that?
you can see that the right side of border it is not centered because the left side border is thicker than right side, here is the part of the action
you can see that i move the image after i place it because its not on the center so adjusting it makes it at the center but the Translate part is not equal.
When I import a 26.8 MB (5616 x 3744) CR2 RAW file from a Canon 5DMKII into Lightroom 4.4 and then export it as a JPEG sRGB Quality 100 file, it's size is 13.4 MB. When I do the same thing in Aperture 3.4.3 the exported JPEG file size is 20.8 MB. Am I doing something wrong in Lightroom?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded to Gimp 2.8.3 on my Mac OS Snow Leopard, primarily for the new "export to PDF" feature that would keep text searchable within PDF.
The results are very odd... The text in the exported PDF is, indeed, searchable and copyable, but the font size shrinks drastically (see attached screenshot).
I opened the original template PSD image for the home page in Photoshop 7, removed all the layers and slices that filled up the main panel, leaving everything else just as it is. I then switched to ImageReady, saved the HTML index.html file and images Optimized As and then created a site in GoLive 6 and uploaded it as is.
For purposes of comparison, I also created a site in Dreamweaver and checked it in its Preview in Browser and saw the exact same problem: if you switch your resolution to 800 X 600, everything looks perfect. However, at 1024 X 768, the right margin is white instead of being an extension of the page background and the bottom panel does not extend all the way to the right screen margin.
I've been told that I need a containing table with WIDTH=100% to contain the fixed size pixel table in order to resolve this issue.

Is there a way to edit the image size in Photoshop/ImageReady to automatically generate the correct HTML page?
I started using Image Mapping earlier today to see what it was...I made a signature for a friend of mine. However i have these two boxes in the image that were suppose to be click-able links. I used Image Mapping to do this however, I found out that after you get the source code it's programed to HTML. I was wondering if there was a way to use the HTML code to put into an IMG.
Like. What i mean is. Instead of using an HTML code for a website banner, Is there a way to do the same concept only in IMG format, And to where when you see the image, You can move your mouse over the two boxes and they could be click-able, And direct you to the specific site that It's programmed to take you to?
I scanned an image of our firm's logo, and opened it in Gimp. It looked excellent in every detail.
Next, I saved the file as a JPEG (of highest quality) and also as a Windows BMP.
Then, using two different HTML editors, I created a page, and inserted the logo. In both cases, the quality of the image was grossly degraded.. In the original, all the edges were crisp and clear, but once in the HTML files, though the images were of their original size, they were quite fuzzy. In fact, some of the smaller text in the logo became rather hard to read.
What would be causing this sort of deterioration, and what might I do to correct this problem?
I have been working with PS for a while now, and can hold my own, but someone asked me the other day if I could slice up an image and put it into html from a .psd file.
View 8 Replies View Relatedok, i have a jpeg i want to email. i click on attach and the drop down comes up, i navigate to the image i want and highlight. at this point--always in the past up until last week--a thumbnail of the image shows up in the column to the right of the name of the image, so i can make sure i'm sending the right image. suddenly, i'm no longer seeing the image to the right. View 14 Replies View RelatedI have been using Photoshop CS2 for many years and have constantly "lived with" a bug in Bridge whereby, instead of an image thumbnail, there is just an icon shown.
This is the same icon that appears before Bridge has read all the images to produce the thumbnails - but some of them get "stuck" and there seems to be no way to make Bridge "read" the image and produce the thumbnail. Pressing "View" "Refresh" (or PF5) does not work. Is there any fix I can download for this?
I have Windows 7 and recently unistalled PSE 10 and it did not have this issue; Now Photoshop CS6 is displaying the menu dropdowns as shown in Image 1. Bridge CS6 does not have the issue;it is showing the menu bars correctly (see Image 2). I downloaded and installed all updates.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe example I use in this question has already been solved by friendly posters here and this is not a rehash... just using the materials at hand to illustrate the point.The effort here was to remove the trailing shadows shown in the first image (at the included URL below).
In that thread 2 posters showed how to do this using a completely different approach.That is, using Arrange/Apply ClipView..However, I used the help manual to try to do this, at a section headed Combining Shapes
When subtracting, intersecting and slicing, you can either use the topmost selected shape to do the "cutting" of the lower shapes, or you can use a mask.To use a mask to cut shapes, first select the shapes and then turn on mask mode. All objects except for the selected shapes disappear while mask mode is on.
Then draw your cutting shape using the main drawing tools (Freehand Tool, Shape Editor, Rectangle Tool, etc.) or paste the shape if you already drew it and copied it. Then select the Arrange->Combine Shapes operation. The mask shape is used to cut the shapes underneath. I never did see anything describing the details of how to do the cutting with one of the shapes already in the composition so I went the mask route, which is explained there.
So I selected all, then went to mask mode, drew a rectangle (at the right in 2nd screen grab below) then Arrange/Combine shapes/ and none of those selections: Add, subtract, intersect and slice... appear to do a darned thing to the objects.
