Photoshop :: CS6 Is Displaying Menu Dropdowns As Shown In Image
Oct 30, 2012
I have Windows 7 and recently unistalled PSE 10 and it did not have this issue; Now Photoshop CS6 is displaying the menu dropdowns as shown in Image 1. Bridge CS6 does not have the issue;it is showing the menu bars correctly (see Image 2). I downloaded and installed all updates.
My dropdowns of menu bar not looking same as default. There should be a line after Revert, Send to, Collect for output in File menu and same with other menus but I am not able to see that default line. That is not effecting me any way but eyes are set on default view which I like it.
The pulldown menus listed in the CUI are File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Window, and Help. The menu bar has one pulldown menu: Express. How do I make the pulldown menus listed in the CUI appear on the menu bar? Sure wish it was as easy and obvious as "drag them there".
I'm trying to use the retimer tool, which allows me to theoretically access the 'time span' menu.
Right-click the horizontal arrow between the tops of the two markers. This opens the Retimer Span Type right-click menu, where you can set the span behavior.
But it simply isn't displaying for me. I've got the latest Nvidia drivers and the latest product update.
I'm about at the end of my tether - I should simply be able to right click the horizontal arrow and display the menu.
It's called the retimer span type menu - and it doesn't open!
A co-worker scanned a photo and emailed it to me to edit it and try to improve it, but everything I want to do is grayed out so I can't select it and I can't figure out why. Maybe it has to do with how she scanned it?
It's CMYK, 300 dpi, and 8 bit.
I'd like to sharpen it and adjust the hue/saturation, but they're grayed out.
why this is happening and how I can work around this so I can make the changes I need to make?
ok, i have a jpeg i want to email. i click on attach and the drop down comes up, i navigate to the image i want and highlight. at this point--always in the past up until last week--a thumbnail of the image shows up in the column to the right of the name of the image, so i can make sure i'm sending the right image. suddenly, i'm no longer seeing the image to the right. (see attached).
I have been using Photoshop CS2 for many years and have constantly "lived with" a bug in Bridge whereby, instead of an image thumbnail, there is just an icon shown.
This is the same icon that appears before Bridge has read all the images to produce the thumbnails - but some of them get "stuck" and there seems to be no way to make Bridge "read" the image and produce the thumbnail. Pressing "View" "Refresh" (or PF5) does not work. Is there any fix I can download for this?
On an image in Develop, right click to bring up the context menu. In the past, when I moved down to "Edit", the flyout menu appeared on the right. It does this in pretty much ALL the software I use. Unless I'm against the right edge of the screen/window, the flyout comes out the right side.
In 5.2 (and possibly earlier V5 versions), ALL my flyouts come out on the left side no matter where the context menu is...
Did this change? Or is there a setting to control this? 'Cause everything else, including Photoshop, still seems to use the behavior that's been there in the past...
The example I use in this question has already been solved by friendly posters here and this is not a rehash... just using the materials at hand to illustrate the point. The effort here was to remove the trailing shadows shown in the first image (at the included URL below).
In that thread 2 posters showed how to do this using a completely different approach. That is, using Arrange/Apply ClipView..However, I used the help manual to try to do this, at a section headed Combining Shapes
When subtracting, intersecting and slicing, you can either use the topmost selected shape to do the "cutting" of the lower shapes, or you can use a mask.To use a mask to cut shapes, first select the shapes and then turn on mask mode. All objects except for the selected shapes disappear while mask mode is on.
Then draw your cutting shape using the main drawing tools (Freehand Tool, Shape Editor, Rectangle Tool, etc.) or paste the shape if you already drew it and copied it. Then select the Arrange->Combine Shapes operation. The mask shape is used to cut the shapes underneath. I never did see anything describing the details of how to do the cutting with one of the shapes already in the composition so I went the mask route, which is explained there.
So I selected all, then went to mask mode, drew a rectangle (at the right in 2nd screen grab below) then Arrange/Combine shapes/ and none of those selections: Add, subtract, intersect and slice... appear to do a darned thing to the objects.
I have many inline formulas (imported from Word file via using mathtype) in PDF article made by ID. But when I export the articles as HTML, the images for formulas become much larger than shown in PDF version. How can i keep the exported images to the same size as they are shown the PDF file? I know I can edit the html file to specify image size, but that is the ideal work flow.
I am having a problem with Photoshop CS5 Extended V 12.1.
The problem: When I open some files, some shades of BLUE colour is displayed as BLACK However the same file opens and displays correctly if I open it using Photoshop Elements V9.0.3.When I save the file as JPEG and re-open it, the problem returns.Opening the JPEG file in any other application, including PS Elements, does not cause the problem
Source of files The original files came from a Nikon camera, saved in RAW format. It is possible that the original files were corrupted in some way as the shots had an unusual blue cast - which was easily resolved by Photoshop when I originally opened the RAW files.problem is not universal as I've not been able to reproduce it with any other files (RAW or JPEG).
I have calibrated my monitor display settings sRGB IEC61966-2.1 (default)

I downloaded an image of a web template to look at the colours more closely before possibly purchasing it and when I opened the image in CS4 it had a bunch of triangular blocked out areas - kind of like a mask of some sort I think. I then tried creating a new document and opening an existing, unrelated PSD file and now they have the same triangular blocked out areas.
On some Windows7 machines I'm finding the drop down flyout tools do not pop out at all, like the line tools button or rectangle tools. You can click and hold over them but the pop up with the other tools never displays. You can click on the black triangle on the lower-right corner or hold down, neither work. Was this ever a known bug with X4 on Windows7 PCs?
Photoshop displaying image differently on a same screen in different placement. Same image when moved a bit to the left changes image saturation. This is happening only in photoshoop CS6. I have two older versions of photoshoot that are working just fine. No other program is shoving behiever like this. I tried different files jpg .psd .png, same behavior.
ACA12 - the mouse wheel doesn't work on many of the dropdowns anymore? Is this an 'improvement' or is there a new variable I need to learn to turn it back on.
Do autodesk have only 12 fonts on their machine? Why is the text style font name drop boxes so tiny? Makes it real time consuming to select a font when you have lots of fonts as I'd imagine most machines have.
I've created a .png logo but when it displays on the website, it doesn't look clear. Do i need to change settings when exporting it? The site is [URL] and il upload the logo.
I have a drawing that has an OLE image in the drawing format. In this particular drawing the image is not showing up. The border around the image is there but nothing else. All my layers are on and OLEHIDE is set to 0. Every other drawing I opened that uses the same format is fine.
I have attached the file with just the formats (my company is pretty strict with posting any drawings). The image should appear in the bottom left corner.
I changed from windows 8 to 8.1 the other night and have just opened Lr5 today for the first time since and I my image details are there but no preview is shown, the Lr catalog is still in the same place and following its path.
I'm trying to bring a lsp routine up to date and it's almost as if I'm a newbie again. A dialog image worked okay in 2005 but in version 2012 displays poorly. So I made a new slide in 2012 and saved it to the same name as the old one, HobMasterDialog.sld, and placed it in the same folder as the old one. However, when the dialog appears the rectangular area for the image is blank.
When I open an image in PS CS6 all is well. Once I move the document, it snaps itself to the top left. If I move it and try to place it somewhere else, it moves itself a little higher to the top left. The more I move it the more it snaps higher. If I move it over 5 times it covers the main menu bar (File Edit Layer View Filter) and so on. This renders the app useless as you can no no longer access the native menu to do anything to the image.
I am on Windows 7x64 (SP1) with a Wacom Tablet. Within PS I've disabled, Tabs for windows (Both check marks) as well as Flick Panning, and animated zoom.
I have many images of Death, Marriage and Birth Act for my Genealogy project, and I would like to know if it is possible to clean them automatically ?
Some of them are really not well scanned, and really hard to read, I managed to correct partially some of them with Paint.net, so I figured If I could have some kind of script that would Darken the Gray part of the Text and another one that would narrow the line so it become more readable .
As an example:
This is the First line of the Text , I placed the Full picture below if required
When selecting a sub menu from within a main drop down menu the arrow points to the right but the actual sub menu pops up on the left in most cases. I have only noticed this recently and wonder if I have inadvertently messed up a setting as in the past I cant recall this being so but I don't use the editor a lot so may be mistaken.
I am upgrading from 2010 to 2013 and am having a problem with my image tile menu not showing my slides. The dialog box comes up but none of the slides can be viewed. I am using the macro $I=acadbja.GENPLAN1 $I=* Is there an updated command the super cedes this command?
What is the best way to remove the text from this image (an RPG menu) so I can make my own game menu out of something completely different? I would also want to remove the character icon... + all current text.
