I changed from windows 8 to 8.1 the other night and have just opened Lr5 today for the first time since and I my image details are there but no preview is shown, the Lr catalog is still in the same place and following its path.

I'm not sure what I did to make this happen or how to change it back, but for some reason when I change the size of an object/line it changes the stroke weight as well. (For example, if I drew an ellipse with stroke weight 2 pt, and then increased the size the stroke weight would be 2.856 pt or some such number instead of 2 pt.) How to change this back?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a game in Animate that tracks several scores at the same time – six, to be exact. There are six personalities in the game, and the player's actions determine the positive or negative score displayed to each personality.
The player is presented with a situation and their action effects their score with one or more of the personalities. I'd like to know how to set a text field to change by a negative or positive value (not just changing to a specific number), based on which button the player chooses. I've created symbols for each of the six score fields, each one has a uniquely named text field inside the symbol.
There were some patches available at one time but I'm not able to find them anymore. I have recently installed X3 on a W7 machine and have so far found everything to work fine except for an issue of half of my fonts being blank when trying to choose one from the drop down menu. Existing files with these blank fonts also come up with the fonts completely missing as if the entire set of words was deleted. Here is the list of patches that I've heard is necessary for X3 to be compatible with W7...

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using Lightroom 3 on a 17' Samsung Syncmaster 920NW on two different desktops. The hardware configuration for each machine is also identical, with only a few minor exceptions. However, the images on one machine display drastically differently in Lightroom, as opposed to any other Windows application. I've updated the video drivers for both computers, reinstalled the monitor drivers for both, and have uninstalled/reinstalled Lightroom on both with no success in remedying the discrepancy.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having this problem whenever I synchronize a folder that images have been added into.
Example: I have a folder of images in LR; I export all those images with a watermark, resized, etc. into a separate folder of proofs; even though I performed that batch process using LR, for some reason the app still won't see those images until I synchronize; when I do synchronize, it is shifting the color temp to +8 and the tint to -11; I then have to go back and undo that color temp shift.
How do I get LR to stop changing the color temp of images when synchronizing?
I've noticed in the past couple of days that I will be refining an image in the develop module, feel I've gotten it the way I want it to look, and then switch back to the library module to export. When I do so, I notice the colors are quite different than they were just a second ago in the develop module. When I switch back to the develop module, it goes back to the way it looked in the develop module. How might I fix this?

The problem:
When I open some files, some shades of BLUE colour is displayed as BLACK However the same file opens and displays correctly if I open it using Photoshop Elements V9.0.3.When I save the file as JPEG and re-open it, the problem returns.Opening the JPEG file in any other application, including PS Elements, does not cause the problem
Source of files The original files came from a Nikon camera, saved in RAW format. It is possible that the original files were corrupted in some way as the shots had an unusual blue cast - which was easily resolved by Photoshop when I originally opened the RAW files.problem is not universal as I've not been able to reproduce it with any other files (RAW or JPEG).
I have calibrated my monitor display settings sRGB IEC61966-2.1 (default)

I downloaded an image of a web template to look at the colours more closely before possibly purchasing it and when I opened the image in CS4 it had a bunch of triangular blocked out areas - kind of like a mask of some sort I think. I then tried creating a new document and opening an existing, unrelated PSD file and now they have the same triangular blocked out areas.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing that has an OLE image in the drawing format. In this particular drawing the image is not showing up. The border around the image is there but nothing else. All my layers are on and OLEHIDE is set to 0. Every other drawing I opened that uses the same format is fine.
I have attached the file with just the formats (my company is pretty strict with posting any drawings). The image should appear in the bottom left corner.
I'm using CS6 in Windows 7 64 (bit) - I've successfully used File Types Manager (freeware) to change file type icons (since the Windows file type editing has been removed). My problem is that JPEG, PNG, & GIF change in lockstep - (like you would expect all of a similar type - ex. JPG, JPEG, etc. to do). BMP and TIFF are not affected. Is it a Windows or Photoshop matter? (This was not a problem in Windows XP and CS.) I would just like to have the correct icon (provided in the Photoshop.exe file) associated with the various file types.

This is happening only in photoshoop CS6. I have two older versions of photoshoot that are working just fine. No other program is shoving behiever like this. I have Windows 7 and recently unistalled PSE 10 and it did not have this issue; Now Photoshop CS6 is displaying the menu dropdowns as shown in Image 1. Bridge CS6 does not have the issue;it is showing the menu bars correctly (see Image 2). I downloaded and installed all updates.

I've tried the metadata pop-up menu selections but these either omit items I want to see or include many items which I don't use. I bought Lightroom because it was designed for photographers but I am discovering that there are a number of areas where it is not as flexible as Bridge.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am having all sorts of problems with Lightroom 5.2 and wish I'd just stayed with Lightroom 4. I've already posted about not being able to import directly from an SD card in my laptops reader, and have at least found a work around to that (copy files to hard drive them import - I see others have found the same thing and it works just fine).
Now I have realised that the map screen in the map module is blank. I had this problem initially with Lightroom 5, and then it seemed to resolve itself. It is refusing to resolve itself in Lightroom 5.2 however. I've searched on the web for similar problems, and have found some responses to blank map screens in Lightroom 4, but they are so technical I haven't got a clue where to start trying to follow them.
So, I am a simple soul who needs a simple answer. I am using LR 5.2 on an HP laptop running Windows 7. In the map module, where I already have GPS data (from a Canon EOS 6D) it is displayed in the metadata, and the little pop up box shows the number of photos at selected locations etc. But the central map screen is black. If I search, the screen stays black although it appears as though it has gone to the location. The Navigator screen is blank too. And yes, I am connected to the internet and LR5.2 seems to be able to find the internet (I checked by going into the web module).
I like to put GPS locations on my photos prior to upload to Flickr, and whereas they are there from photos from my 6D, they don't exist for photos taken on my Canon Powershot.
