Lightroom :: Touchscreen Monitor Windows 7 Doesn't Scroll Library Grid?
Jun 12, 2012A big bummer that in the library grid mode (or any other scrollable part of lightroom) I can't scroll with my touchscreen monitor like I can in IE or Chrome or Word etc.?? What is touchscreen compatible in lightroom? I would love for lightroom to be touchscreen friendly.

Jun 17, 2012I've run in to a strange problem since the 4.1 upgrade.When displayed in the Library view, images are not appearing correctly. In my case, there is a huge amount more noise in the Library view compared to the Develop view. This is also affecting Exports.

May 8, 2013When I open JPEGS or RAW images in photoshop they have a dull, flat color to them. This is happening after recently buying a NEW PA271W wide-gamut display and calibrating it using Spectraview 2. It doesn't matter whether I have the Working Space in PS set to Adobe RGB or sRGB under color settings... The only way I can make my image look normal is to go under settings and ASSIGN PROFILE to Adobe RGB. It looks fine then. I could live with that, except the bigger problem is that I begin my editing process in RAW, where the colors are also looking flat. The best I can tell, there is no way to assign a profile at this stage...
I've been working in photoshop many years and I do know that RAW images have a 'flatter' appearance to being with, but this is something completely different. For example, when I slide photoshop onto my other monitor next to it (I have multiple monitors) - the color reverts to the normal color I want . And if I then slide photoshop back onto my new NEC monitor, the normal color actually stays intact for about two seconds, then reverts back to the dull color. So I am unable to begin my work process in RAW since the colors are wrong. Also, I know that my new monitor is capbable of displaying my images in their proper colors because when I use any of several different image viewers I have - irfanview, etc. - everything is fine. It's only in photoshop.

Apr 18, 2013We currently use AC 2012 Mech.when selecting from the menu content/fasteners/screws and then opening the countersunk head types, many users will see what is dispalyed in the attachment good picture.png... the type of screw is displayed (we can see the text)...while other users selecting the same prompts from the menu will see what is displayed in the attachment bad picture.png... the text is NOT displayed...this occurs for many different types of content, not just the fasterners/screws...

Oct 5, 2012After upgrading to 4.2, any image when displayed on the second monitory appears soft and blurry, even if the image in the first monitor is tack sharp. This happens in any view mode, such as loupe, grid, compare, etc. This was not an issue with 4.1 for me.
I'm running Windows 7 on an HP Pavilion dv7. 8 gig memory installed. It's got an Intel Core i7. 64-bit operating system.

I have to select a different image then go back to the one I was working on to see the changes.

Lightroom :: Adjustment Lag Using External Monitor With 4.3?
Dec 29, 2012I have an Eizo external monitor connected to my MBP and use the external for editing. I have been doing so for a couple years now and with all versions of Lightroom (even 4.2). I have always been able to see the changes/edits real-time on the external monitors when adjusting something with one of the LR sliders. Ever since I installed the latest LR update (4.3)- I don't see changes realtime. I have to wait until I let go of the mouse/slider to see the changes/adjustments.

Jun 15, 2013I installed LR5 as a commercial upgrade to LR4.3 on Win8 Pro 64bit, latest versions. All catalog previews has been rebuild. I have a really annoying issue where previews, when zoomed in to 1:1 on a second monitor is not at 1:1 resolution. It only seems to happen in the Develop module. No such problem existed in previous versions of LR.
Workaround:
1 - zoom in on primary monitor
2 - switch to another photo
3- switch back to original
Now zoom will work.
I'm editing 5d2 21Mp .CR2 (raw) files, as well as TIFF's and DNG's. All seem to have the same problem. I have 3 monitors, it makes no difference which of the other 2 I use as a preview device. It also makes no difference if I do a full-screen preview or a window preview on the secondary monitor. I've selected the image in the library module, in the original import folder.
I suspect what is happening is that the 1:1 previews are somehow not being build when zooming to 1:1 on the second monitor in the develop module. In the Library module, I can see the "image loading" when a 1:1 is not available, but in the develop module, the image just zooms in and there is no rebuild. Or maybe the preview is there but it's just not loaded.
Lightroom :: Lock Grid To Second Monitor
Feb 23, 2013could come up with a "Lock grid to second monitor" option? I get a little peved when i'm performing some task and the grid jumps up on the main monitor. the adjustment controls are all on the main, so it goes to reason that the photo being edited should be locked the the main, and the grid be locked to the second monitor, or at least that there should be options like this. I'm using LR3.6.I don't see anything indicating that LR4 has any such option.

Oct 29, 2013I'm using two monitors with LR5, and the second monitor is the preview screen. I find the preview on the second monitor to be painfully slow in both the Library and Develop modules:
1) If I am the Develop module, and I move to the next photo, and zoom the preview to 100% (or if it is already at 100%), it take a minute, literally, for the preview to display correctly.
2) In the Develop module, sometimes the display does not update correctly at all. If I adjust a slider on the Details tab, however slightly, the preview then updates almost immediately.
3) In the Library module, if I switch the main window to single photo view, and view 100%, then, as I browse the photos, the main window updates very quickly, but the preview window lags behind.
I'm working with Fuji X-Trans RAF files, and this maybe this si the issue? JPGs update almost immediately in the preview window in both modules.

Aug 26, 2012Upgraded to LR4. When selecting the 2nd monitor (Gateway) all photo images show as dim dull dark greyed out. If I move LR window from primary (NEC) to the Gateway all menu items and selections normal. All images are dull dim grey including the histogram. Selecting 2nd monitor feature places Loupe on primary display (NEC) works just fine.
If I reset Windows 7 and designate primary monitor as Gateway the problem remains unchanged.
If I place main LR window on Gateway and then select preview of 2nd monitor (CTRL-click) the pop up window renders correctly on the Gateway.
Turned off all icc profiles for monitors no improvement.
Windows 7PRo 64-bit 8GB RAM quad processor all drivers up to date. NVidia card up to date.
Other non LR windows programs and images opened on the second monitor look just fine. The Gateway will render correctly the 2nd monitor pop up preview image; so the monitor will properly display.
If I have some time I will go back to LR3 and double check that everything works fine.

May 14, 2012secondary monitor displays with colorshift in LR4.1rc2. this is on windows 7/64. Both my monitors i have are calibrated with spyder3, one is hardwarecalibrated eizo CG243, the other a HP2475 calibrated with spyder4 elite software. Colorshift shows same characteristics when i switch LR app window with secondary window. IT looks as if sRGB profile is applied to the secondary preview, because of the strong/overly saturated colors.
It seems to me a softwarebug, which makes secondary display inusable.
How is color management supposed to work in LR4?

Lightroom :: 5.2 Map Module Not Displaying Maps
Sep 28, 2013I am having all sorts of problems with Lightroom 5.2 and wish I'd just stayed with Lightroom 4. I've already posted about not being able to import directly from an SD card in my laptops reader, and have at least found a work around to that (copy files to hard drive them import - I see others have found the same thing and it works just fine).
Now I have realised that the map screen in the map module is blank. I had this problem initially with Lightroom 5, and then it seemed to resolve itself. It is refusing to resolve itself in Lightroom 5.2 however. I've searched on the web for similar problems, and have found some responses to blank map screens in Lightroom 4, but they are so technical I haven't got a clue where to start trying to follow them.
So, I am a simple soul who needs a simple answer. I am using LR 5.2 on an HP laptop running Windows 7. In the map module, where I already have GPS data (from a Canon EOS 6D) it is displayed in the metadata, and the little pop up box shows the number of photos at selected locations etc. But the central map screen is black. If I search, the screen stays black although it appears as though it has gone to the location. The Navigator screen is blank too. And yes, I am connected to the internet and LR5.2 seems to be able to find the internet (I checked by going into the web module).
I like to put GPS locations on my photos prior to upload to Flickr, and whereas they are there from photos from my 6D, they don't exist for photos taken on my Canon Powershot.
Lightroom :: Displaying A Photo For A Keyword?
Jul 31, 2012as I've come from PSE, the terminology might be a bit different.
1) Displaying Keywords for a photo - In PSE, the properties panel can list all the Tags associated with a photo. The only way I can see the keywords for a photo in LR is to go to the keywords list, expand all the sub levels and look for check marks. Is there a simpler/easier way?
2) Displaying a photo for a keyword - I have a keyword which has a count of 1 against it. If I try to filter by that keyword (by clicking the right arrow next to the count) nothing is displayed. I tried making a collection with just the keyword specified and it contains one photo but again nothing is displayed. I suspect that it might be something to do with version sets brought over from PSE but I've tried unstacking everything and still can't find the photo.

Aug 9, 2013First of all, I'm very happy the new version of Lightroom handles FujiFilm X-E1 RAW (RAF) files fast and efficiently.
But I have a feeling the colours aren't quite right. The X-E1, and its brothers, are known for their incredible colour reproduction and wide dynamic range in a compact format. When shooting native JPEG's with, or without shadow compensation settings in the camera, the resulting JPEG files has a clear FujiFilm identity. The colours and luma and are very even all the way from the shadows to the highlights. But when loading a RAW (RAF) file into Lightroom (v4.4) the colours, still untouched, aren't at all the same, and not the luma either. Shadows are harsher, the skin tones and most colours actually are a tiny bit off. Overall I would urge you to study this in detail and give us an optional Camera Calibration profile or something, that will give FujiFilm justice here.
Does this make any sense to you, or am I just being picky here?

May 23, 2012LR 4.1 RC2, OSX 10.6.8 - when I'm trying to use the develop module with my second monitor, the image initially looks accurate. After a second or two and before any edits have been applied, the images desaturate and look very flat. Images viewed with the second monitor in Library module look great.
