Mar 11, 2012Has Lightroom 4 addressed the problem of choosing which monitor to show your secondary display? I know this was a requested feature on LR3. How do you set it?

Lightroom :: Secondary Monitor Displays With Colorshift
May 14, 2012secondary monitor displays with colorshift in LR4.1rc2. this is on windows 7/64. Both my monitors i have are calibrated with spyder3, one is hardwarecalibrated eizo CG243, the other a HP2475 calibrated with spyder4 elite software. Colorshift shows same characteristics when i switch LR app window with secondary window. IT looks as if sRGB profile is applied to the secondary preview, because of the strong/overly saturated colors.
It seems to me a softwarebug, which makes secondary display inusable.
How is color management supposed to work in LR4?
Lightroom :: 4.1 Crash With Secondary Display Enabled?

It's typically very stable, but when I enable the Secondary Display, it starts crashing every 10 - 15 mintues.
Win7x64
12GB RAM
ATI Catalyst 12.4 (was the same under 12.1)
Internal 256GB SSD w/ OS and catalogs
External 5.5TB eSata w/ RAW files
Canon 5d2 & 5d3 files
2x Dell U3011 displays
I've googled and searched the forums. Lots comes up about older versions, but I'm not finding anything about the current release version. Windows offers to check for a solution online and close the application.

Lightroom :: Choose Secondary Display Location?
Aug 9, 2009I'm despriately trying to figure out a way to display the lightroom secondary display on my monitor to the right of my main display. I'm working in Windows 7 RC which seems to have the same monitor properties as Vista. No matter what I do Lightroom will always choose the display to my left as secondary, I've even tried physically switching my cables for the monitors and it still figures out which display is on the left and displays it there. Is there any way to pick which display is secondary?

May 2, 2012I'm having trouble with the secondary display (window, in my case; only one monitor). When I first open the secondary display, either with a keyboard shortcut or by clicking, all is fabulous. The display modes (Grid, Loupe, Compare, Survey) are visible & clickable, as is thumbnail slider, file path. If I click or keyboard command to Loupe view, Normal, Live & Locked modes are available. However, if I close the window and then want to open it up later in my workflow, all of the aforementioned functions disappear. I'm able to bring up the Filter view, and can technically still work off the menu bar (and keyboard shortcuts, if remembered). But only if I restart the program do the full set of functions become visible again. The arrows at top & bottom don't collapse/expand to show anything more than a black border where the display & mode options once were.

Dec 12, 2008I have a winXP set up with and ATI Radeon X800 graphics card. I currently use a Lacie 22 Blue as my main monitor and a cheapo flatscreen to make it a two monitor set up. The Lacie is about 5 years old and I would like more desk space.
I would like to go to a 24 inch flat screen.
I don't understand all the techie stuff about monitors and I have been reading. Most reviews I've seen to do with monitors seem geared towards viewing HD video and video editing. I only work with photos.
I can't afford those high-end monitors although salivate when I see 'em.
I use Photoshop CS4.

Sep 12, 2012Windows 7 64. New Sager, Nvidia 675--up to date everything. Revit 2013 fresh download, very little else on new computer. All drivers and bios up to date.
Samsung monitor, same resolution on both main and secondary monitor.
I've heard of many who have had this issue particularly in the secondary monitor. Not sure what to do.
Essentially, wall jumps 3 to 5 feet when I click on it after it has been drawn. I don't seem to have the same issue if I run revit from the main monitor..
Have the same issue whether i run Revit from the Intel or Nvidia High Performance mode.

Jul 14, 2008I'm using CS2 but the same thing happens in CS with a Dell 24-inch LCD monitor. An inch doesn't equal an inch and I'm not sure why. If, for instance, I open a letter-sized image file and the navigator zoom control is set at 100%, the actual dimensions of the image onscreen are 6 3/4 inches by 8 3/4 inches rather than 8 1/2 x 11. I can't find a preference for this in Photoshop and think it's probably an adjustment on the monitor but haven't been able to make it right.

Dec 7, 2013I'm using Lightroom 4 on a shiny new 27" iMac and have a very old Dell 24" display, not LED backlit, as a secondary display. Both have been calibrated with a Spyder 3. I would like to preview photos on my iMac display by default and use all edit controls on the old Dell display but setting this up is a pain in the butt and it won't return to this configuration after I quit LR and open it again.
Even when I right-click on the dock in OS X Mavericks and select "Options/Desktop on Display 2" I only get the splash page on Display 2.
Is there any way to make LR open by default on the system's secondary display (Dell 24") and use the iMac itself as LR's secondary display?
Photoshop :: CS6 Work Windows Too Tall For Monitor Display
Oct 28, 2013On a MacBook Pro 15-inch retina display running OS 10.8.3, in Photoshop CS6: after launching PS, the work window is too tall for the monitor display. The bottom is cut off: there are no bottom scroll bars or nor any of the page info, I can't grab the resizing corner to change window dimensions. Also, I can't change from Standard Screen Mode: neither the left tool bar nor the F key has any effect. I've quit and restarted both the PS app and entire computer but problem persists.

Apr 20, 2012I use a MBP connected it to an Apple Cinema Display used as an external monitor (not a dual display) when in my studio.
When I use Adobe Photoshop CS 5 without the monitor the image window does not display on the MBP. If I plug the external monitor in, the window is displayed correctly on the MBP. Photoshop is opening and "displaying" the image window offscreen. Nothing gets it back onscreen, except plugging in the external monitor.
I often use Photoshop away from my studio so this is a big problem. PShop is essentially unusable unless connected to an external monitor.

The drive is not a network volume, removable storage (it's a SATA drive on a Mac Pro), or read-only.

May 25, 2012I'm using LR 2.6 on a Mac running 10.7.4 (Lion).
The program keeps crashing/closing ( not freezing in screen) when I try to change the destination folder when importing.
i've not encountered tis problem before. It's just appeared since my upgrade to Lion.
It occurs regardless of the camera being used (or import from external HD). If I import to the currently selected folder everything works fine. And all editing functionality seems normal when working with images currenly in my LR library.
The crash occurs when selecting the destination folder and hitting "choose". That is to say it's before hitting the final "import button", and is definitely triggered by choosing the alternate folder.

Jun 15, 2013TI go over my photo and remove dust specs in LR5, then choose to edit the image further in Photoshop CS5 (Right click or Cmd+E -> Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS5). When the photo opens in Photoshop all the Spot Removals I have done are *gone*! I can not say I have noticed this before, and I have been using LR5 since it became available. But now nothing works - It keeps doing this, no matter how many times I close PS and LR and re-open. Spot Removal just keeps getting reset when I wanna edit a photo in Photoshop.

Lightroom :: How To Correct Lens Correction Profile Choosing The Wrong Lens
Nov 27, 2011Using LR 3.5.1. When applying Lens Corrections/Profile/Enable in Default, my Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 actual lens is being corrected by the profile for a Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 lens. I can tell it's the wrong correction because the barrel distortion after using the default profile is not corrected, and when I manually select the 4-5.6 lens the correction is perfect. So I know the right data is embedded in the LR correction data bank but is not being used.
I found that when I set the profile Setup selector to "Auto" the correct lens is selected and the correction it makes is "correct." But then moving to the next photo it switches to Default again, selecting the wrong lens, and so has to be set to Auto for each photo. This action doesn't seem to me to me an expected result called "Setup." I need this for my home interior photography, and with hundreds of photos a week I don't want to manually operate this. This didn't happen until v.3.4 or 3.5, I think.
So, how do I get it to select the right lens as the Default, or get the Auto setting to stick? Either would do. (Seems to me they logically are the same thing).
In addition, why isn't it possible to have the profile itself enabled as a default perhaps in a preset - or is that possible and I don't know how to do it? In other words, once it's working right, why not make it an import preset for that lens?

Oct 5, 2012After upgrading to 4.2, any image when displayed on the second monitory appears soft and blurry, even if the image in the first monitor is tack sharp. This happens in any view mode, such as loupe, grid, compare, etc. This was not an issue with 4.1 for me.
I'm running Windows 7 on an HP Pavilion dv7. 8 gig memory installed. It's got an Intel Core i7. 64-bit operating system.

Dec 29, 2012I have an Eizo external monitor connected to my MBP and use the external for editing. I have been doing so for a couple years now and with all versions of Lightroom (even 4.2). I have always been able to see the changes/edits real-time on the external monitors when adjusting something with one of the LR sliders. Ever since I installed the latest LR update (4.3)- I don't see changes realtime. I have to wait until I let go of the mouse/slider to see the changes/adjustments.

Jun 15, 2013I installed LR5 as a commercial upgrade to LR4.3 on Win8 Pro 64bit, latest versions. All catalog previews has been rebuild. I have a really annoying issue where previews, when zoomed in to 1:1 on a second monitor is not at 1:1 resolution. It only seems to happen in the Develop module. No such problem existed in previous versions of LR.
Workaround:
1 - zoom in on primary monitor
2 - switch to another photo
3- switch back to original
Now zoom will work.
I'm editing 5d2 21Mp .CR2 (raw) files, as well as TIFF's and DNG's. All seem to have the same problem. I have 3 monitors, it makes no difference which of the other 2 I use as a preview device. It also makes no difference if I do a full-screen preview or a window preview on the secondary monitor. I've selected the image in the library module, in the original import folder.
I suspect what is happening is that the 1:1 previews are somehow not being build when zooming to 1:1 on the second monitor in the develop module. In the Library module, I can see the "image loading" when a 1:1 is not available, but in the develop module, the image just zooms in and there is no rebuild. Or maybe the preview is there but it's just not loaded.

Feb 23, 2013could come up with a "Lock grid to second monitor" option? I get a little peved when i'm performing some task and the grid jumps up on the main monitor. the adjustment controls are all on the main, so it goes to reason that the photo being edited should be locked the the main, and the grid be locked to the second monitor, or at least that there should be options like this. I'm using LR3.6.I don't see anything indicating that LR4 has any such option.
