I'm just about to order a BM card for video monitoring but looking for connection setup that allows me to get both video monitor and external display from my macbook pro?
View 2 RepliesIn our edit suite we have the usual video delay from the output of the Kona card through the suites monitors. We also have an audio delay box to correct for this. Our client monitors are all in sync. In Final Cut there is a control to delay the computer monitor video to have it in sync with the rest of the system. In Smoke we cannot find a similar delay. We see the audio delay in preferences but that changes the wrong offset. how to adjust the computer monitor delay so we are all in sync?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use a MBP connected it to an Apple Cinema Display used as an external monitor (not a dual display) when in my studio.
When I use Adobe Photoshop CS 5 without the monitor the image window does not display on the MBP. If I plug the external monitor in, the window is displayed correctly on the MBP. Photoshop is opening and "displaying" the image window offscreen. Nothing gets it back onscreen, except plugging in the external monitor.
I often use Photoshop away from my studio so this is a big problem. PShop is essentially unusable unless connected to an external monitor.
So I've installed Smoke for Mac 2013.2 on my macbook and everything has been working great up until a day ago. Now when I go to localhost/ backburner no servers show up. When I try to import something into smoke with cache media enabled, I get the error "Cannot connect to backburner manager 'localhost' on port 0" Also my Backburner Manager seems to be stopped in the service monitor and everytime I restart it, it shuts back off again.
What I've tried
Going through "mikes_backburner_guide.pdf" and a few others to get the networking right. Uninstalling and reinstalling smoke 2013 multiple times and restarting my computer many, many times.
I run Smoke 2012 Adv Ext1 SP1. The hardware is old, like 5years now.
The way I remember it our GFX card is not powerful enough to feed a broadcast monitor all the time, the output only comes up there when I'm in player.
But, unless my memory's even worse than I thought, I used to get a full screen output from the viewport that was selected (with the blue 'Monitor' display) in Action and Batch.
I can't seem to get this working again. I suppose it's in preferences, but the multiview section is greyed out.

Can I use an Enzio monitor with Smoke on Mac and get 10 bit output?

In the Broadcast Monitor Preferences, under the Broadcast Colour Space, when exactly should I use the "Normal" option, and when should I use the "With Headroom" option?
the "Include YUV Headroom" option during Import and Export of Quicktime files, but it's the Broadcast Monitor option.
Ok, so I'm new to this and for some reason I can't enter Backburner web monitor. I used to but al the sudden I can't instead I get this message:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /backburner on this server.
And when exporting I just get partial films, about 80% of the film. Any clues?
monitor preview bmd intensity stretched in pal (a litttle bit), so a circle does not remain a circle, getting a egg. preview on computer monitor ok.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to lock the CFX output to the broadcast monitor so that I can see the changes I make on the image in the broadcast monitor while working in the 1-up view? This way the CFX schematic can fill my 23 inch computer screen. So far i have only been able to do that with the 2-up, etc views. As soon as I switch to the 1-up view or swipe to the left while in 2-up view (which switches it back to the 1-up) the broadcast monitor shows whatever I am working on be it schematic or other.
When I am in the 2-up view and I lock the right part of the 2 up view to the broadcast monitor I usually maximize the left view to fill the screen. It however does not fully fill the screen and keeps the right view scaled to a very small size on the right.
Having a very noticeable delay to my broadcast monitor. When I play sequences through FCP7 it's fine. Running an SDI signal out of an AJA IO XT into an SDI input on a FSI BM 210. Do I need to change some preferences in Smoke?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I have a Primary and Secondary set on the timeline my boradcast monitor only displays the secondary unless I hav ethe big viewer up. I'd like to lock the output to the monitor to always be the primary output track regardless of player status.
Smoke 2013 Ext1
I have Smoke (same version) running on two seperate Macs. Each Mac has an external thunderbolt drive for the media storage.
I worked on my project at home on Mac #1, and assumed I could bring in my external drive and use it with Mac #2.
When I try to add my drive from home to Mac #2, it creates ManagedFolder1. Which of course doesn't have my project in it- my project is on ManagedFolder0.
I suppose this may be caused by the fact I already have a ManagedFolder0 on a different external drive for this Mac, right? So I removed that drive, assuming I could then re-add the drive from home and allow access to the 2nd ManagedFolder0 with my project.
It just shows my old projects from the other drive still, but everything is broken inside of them. This makes sense as the drive is disconnected.
When I go into CFX/Action my broadcast monitor switches to the schematic view. Since I already have the schematic view on my computer monitor I want the broadcast monitor to keep the final output. I looked in the preferences but I can't find the right setting. Is there a away to do this?

is it possible to see Frames Numbers instead of Timecode Numbers in Timecode field of the Player or Source monitor?
It is easy to do in Effects Editor but I could not figure out how to change display from Timecode to Frame in Player..
I am on a retina Macbook Pro. I am dropping frames. I ran the debug, and they are being dropped by grx, not the disk.1080 29.97 project. all fx are rendered.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using a new iMac and Pegasus R6. If I put 1080 ProRes footage on the timeline it plays fine with the unrendered resize on it. Resize is only changing bit depth. The minute I render the clip, it will no longer play without dropping so many frames that it is unusable.

When I enter Stabilize/Track through the Axis editor I arrive at a blank viewer screen with no footage. I get tracker target boxes, but no footage to track. Stabilizer/Stabilize works fine, but the tracker does not seem to work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got an issue seeing video on video track 1 when I have something on a track above it. I have video on track 1, and above that I have a gap with a text fx placed on it (it's a lower third name key). The track indicator is located on the track with the text fx (see the attached "timeline" shot), yet all I see is that key without seeing the video below it (see attached "canvas") Everything has been rendered, so I don't understand what's wrong. And when I export the timeline, the black remains.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhenever we try to import video clips they show up as all black. The length of the video is there, so it might be 15 minutes of black. But no matter what video (Sony, Red, etc.) it's all the same.
We're running pre-release 3 on the latest iMac. As far as we know the graphics card is compatible.
When I import the xml it says connected but shows no video.

The first time the export got interrupted, then after that it processed the audio mixdown but none of the frames. View 5 Replies View RelatedIf I am working on a timeline with my main video track, and I am using a second version for my offline reference footage (So online footage is on V1, offline footage on the V2.1 track), when I go into the Axis effect editor or CFX editor, how can I preview my offline footage as a layer so I can check alignment. For example, I may be doing a split screen effect or reposition within Axis or CFX, but I need to see my offline reference so I can have a baseline for my effects.

I quit smoke, changed to coreaudio in the smoke setup, hit apply, and then quit the app. when I restart smoke it tells me that it is disabling the audio output due to an audio / video mismatch.
Below I have three screen shots. The error message, my system sound panel, and the smoke setup window. Why I am geting this error?

How do I display just the current shot in Color Corrector Page time line, not whole sequence ?
Screen grab shows I am parked on a shot in Colour Warper but timeline shows whole 6 minute sequence rather than the shot I am working on.
