View 4 RepliesI run Smoke 2012 Adv Ext1 SP1. The hardware is old, like 5years now.
The way I remember it our GFX card is not powerful enough to feed a broadcast monitor all the time, the output only comes up there when I'm in player.
But, unless my memory's even worse than I thought, I used to get a full screen output from the viewport that was selected (with the blue 'Monitor' display) in Action and Batch.
I can't seem to get this working again. I suppose it's in preferences, but the multiview section is greyed out.
I include 2 shots.
Can I use an Enzio monitor with Smoke on Mac and get 10 bit output?

In the Broadcast Monitor Preferences, under the Broadcast Colour Space, when exactly should I use the "Normal" option, and when should I use the "With Headroom" option?
the "Include YUV Headroom" option during Import and Export of Quicktime files, but it's the Broadcast Monitor option.
Ok, so I'm new to this and for some reason I can't enter Backburner web monitor. I used to but al the sudden I can't instead I get this message:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /backburner on this server.
And when exporting I just get partial films, about 80% of the film. Any clues?
in the preference Monitor is not active tab for select Dvi output ,is only Off is not detected the output DVI. I do not understand why the first project in the preferences screen brodcast is a choice DVI output, if you do other projects is no longer selectable, only OFF.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to lock the CFX output to the broadcast monitor so that I can see the changes I make on the image in the broadcast monitor while working in the 1-up view? This way the CFX schematic can fill my 23 inch computer screen. So far i have only been able to do that with the 2-up, etc views. As soon as I switch to the 1-up view or swipe to the left while in 2-up view (which switches it back to the 1-up) the broadcast monitor shows whatever I am working on be it schematic or other.
When I am in the 2-up view and I lock the right part of the 2 up view to the broadcast monitor I usually maximize the left view to fill the screen. It however does not fully fill the screen and keeps the right view scaled to a very small size on the right.
In our edit suite we have the usual video delay from the output of the Kona card through the suites monitors. We also have an audio delay box to correct for this. Our client monitors are all in sync. In Final Cut there is a control to delay the computer monitor video to have it in sync with the rest of the system. In Smoke we cannot find a similar delay. We see the audio delay in preferences but that changes the wrong offset. how to adjust the computer monitor delay so we are all in sync?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I go into CFX/Action my broadcast monitor switches to the schematic view. Since I already have the schematic view on my computer monitor I want the broadcast monitor to keep the final output. I looked in the preferences but I can't find the right setting. Is there a away to do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just update my smoke to SAP SP1 today, but I don't have the preview from my broadcast monitor anymore...(Damn!! Sometime I hate updating the software when u already have stable system..!!)
I already update my AJA driver to 10.0.1, and from System Checker software, everything look good.
I can scroll through UNRENDERED CFX clips in the timeline and have an amazingly fast realtime-preview of the result on the broadcast-monitor (only). I had to record this phenomenon with my phone. It instantly feels completely different!!! URL...
View 6 Replies View RelatedA project that I will soon start is a two-screen projection composed of 2 HD screens.
I wonder if it's possible to set up Smoke 2013 to output 2 HD streams simultaneously in split mode - one half of a timeline goes to one screen, and the other half goes to the other.
If it is possible, what kind of hardware would this setup require?
When doing a import of 3D model or choosing a font, I don't get preview, just a bunch of empty thumbnails... why... and how to update.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using two monitors with LR5, and the second monitor is the preview screen. I find the preview on the second monitor to be painfully slow in both the Library and Develop modules:
1) If I am the Develop module, and I move to the next photo, and zoom the preview to 100% (or if it is already at 100%), it take a minute, literally, for the preview to display correctly.
2) In the Develop module, sometimes the display does not update correctly at all. If I adjust a slider on the Details tab, however slightly, the preview then updates almost immediately.
3) In the Library module, if I switch the main window to single photo view, and view 100%, then, as I browse the photos, the main window updates very quickly, but the preview window lags behind.
I'm working with Fuji X-Trans RAF files, and this maybe this si the issue? JPGs update almost immediately in the preview window in both modules.
I have an external Cinema Display plug with Thunderbolt, but this one don't appear in the external monitors list in the settings menu. I have only access to Firewire output.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a document I created in Illustrator CS4 (Mac OSX 10.5.8) with 1/4 inch bleeds. It's a rather small document and the bleeds are very distracting (but I need them for final printing).
Is there a way to preview the document on my monitor without the bleeds? If so, how?
I know that the AJA Kona 3 card has 2 outputs. Can Smoke send one eye to one channel and the other eye to the other of the Kona 3 card? Dual Stream output is what I am really getting at.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there any way that Smoke can see/output sub-blacks and super whites? Can't find any way of seeing them on my scope, Smoke just clamps everything. It won't even see anything below zero in order for me to make a correction on it, everything seems to be clamped on import. I'm using ProRes HQ footage.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I work on a project in PremierePro CS6 v6.0.5 and put my PC to sleep, Premiere crashes almost every time I boot up Windows again. There is no error number or anything, just a window saying that PP does not work and I only have the option to close PP. So I basically have to quit Premiere every time and load up the project again when I continue working on it, which can take some time if this is a long project.
This also happens with other PC I could test this on. This is happening since the very first version of PP CS6. I had a chance to test PP CS5.5 on this issue and this was not a problem their. I was testing with Win7.
I already submitted this bug quite a while ago, but all the updates did not solve this problem.
There is also another bug I noticed related to the second monitor preview in PP CS6, that also is not getting addressed for quite some time. When using a dual monitor setup the full screen preview on the second monitor does not minimize if I minimize PP by clicking on the PP icon in the taksbar. If I use the minimize button in the PP window (top right) the preview on the second monitor stays in the background as it should. Also if PP is minimized and I am working with another application (reading a PDF or surfing the web fo example) the PP full screen preview appears after a while on its own and blocks the second monitor. So I have to go to the PP window and back the the application I want to work in in order to get rid of the preview monitor being blocked. Here you can see what I mean: [URL]
This issue has also been tested on other machines with Win7 and they all had this problem. This two issues are obviously not related to my setup because I can reproduce them on other machines.
I am experimenting with Smoke 2013 pre-trial and I am having issues with importing images and video with alpha channels.
1. If I have a layered Photoshop file or png with an alpha channel (a still frame lower third), I see that I can import it as a multi layered clip, but what is the best way to have it in the sequence to show up properly?
2. If I have a QuickTime in animation format or Pro Res4444 format with an embedded alpha, how can I import that file to show and cut it on a top layer to animate above my video?
Can Smoke support the OFX architecture?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes Smoke have selection functionality similar to that of Combustion? As an example, you might want to selectively blur part of an image. In Combustion, you would draw a selection and then apply an operator above the selection to achieve this. I don't see a similar selection tool function in Smoke, but I imagine you could achieve the same effect by duplicating a layer and using a Gmask via the Wipe timeline FX.does Smoke not have a selection tool similar to Combustion?

Is that normal?
I have RED footage which I exported as EXR. When I import them back in, they look exactly like the RED footage. But when I import the EXR in Fusion, export it back out, and then import that EXR into Smoke, it looks brighter, although I didn't change anything in Fusion. (when I compare the EXR from Smoke and the EXR from fusion in my finder on my desktop, they look exactly the same). So what is Smoke doing with the "foreign" exr on import?I was also playing with the LUT settings. I get a result which is close, but I need to be exact.
