Why can't I drop a clip in the Program Monitor from the Source Monitor in Premiere? When I try to move a clip from the Source to the Program Monitor, a hand displays with the "circle with a line through it" symbol.

View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter installing the trial version of Premeire Pro I've been trying to make a quick test video using an MP4 file on my computer. I've been able to successfully import this file into Premeire however I am unable to see this video in the Source Monitor and the Program Monitor (after having added it to a sequence). I've tried re-encoding the file in AVI and WMV formats however neither of these two worked either. I've also tried just bringing in JPG and PNG images and have be unsuccessfully in viewing these as well. I have however been able to export a still image using the Monitors. So far after about 3 hours of googling the only possible answer to this issue I have been able to find is that Premeire requires 2 seperate harddrives to work; However this seems inaccurate as the program has made no attempt to warn me or even check to see if the computer I am using it on had 2 hard drives during install and start up, nor do I remember seeing it in the listed minimum requirements on the Adobe website. I am more than happy to view a lower quality preview so long as I can actually see what I am doing before rendering in a higher quality.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have cc 7.2.1, and every basic operation i do on the timeline , moving clips, trimiming, scrubing on the timeline everything lags, its not fluid. When i do a simple scrubring on the timeline, the CTI takes sometime to get to the position i selected to do the playback.
But the worst part is the trimming or moving clips, it takes ages before i get an image on the program monitor. If i move a clip into a middle of 2 clips it takes ages to see those two little privews images with timecode, to see where to put it. So is very hard to edit like this.
Another odd thing is when in redering mode i select to use sofware only i dont have drop frames, when i chose cuda i have drop frames!!
I´m editing h254 from a 5d and 7d on externa llaccie usb 3 , have the a macbookpro 16g i7, iris pro and nvidia 750m, and a external samsung, via DVI.
How can separate Multicam Monitor from Program Monitor? I would like to put Multicam monitor on one monitor and hte Program on another.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNormally when I edit, I use pluralize, which creates a sequence in which I can take notes. I usually then drag that sequence into my source monitor, create in and out point and place that into my final timeline. For some reason, Premiere is not letting me drag the file I need into the source monitor. Is there something with the settings off?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have signed up with the cloud service, Feb 2014. I have downloaded Premiere Pro and am going through training tutorial (the Eagle doco). I have downloaded and imported the video into a bin but when I put it into the source monitor (top left of standard display), I see black but hear audio. I know the video is fine as can play from desktop. Have opened another project, using other source video I also know to be good, but same problem...no video visible in source monitor but audio ok in source monitor. This is a brand new Premere Pro installation. Is there a settings change I need to make?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI started a project and watch a lot of files in the source monitor to set IN and OUT points. When the file playes f.e. more than a minute the sound gets muted while the film is still running. First I thought it wood be a matter of my external HD from where I loaded the files. Now that I take the same or any other files from my internal sata 3 harddrive the behaviour is still the same.
When i scroll the mouse wheel to move some frames back and forth the sound is back when i hit the space bar. It's the same if i just hit the space bar once to pause and then hit it again to resume.
The effect shows after different amount of times, sometimes after 45 sec. and sometimes after 2 minutes +
I am running Pr Pro CS6 (latest update installed some days ago) on a windows 7 ultimate x64, 16 GB of ram, Nvidia GTX 670, i7 3770, HD is a WD caviar black
The movie clips come from a Panasonic Lumix FZ 150 in FullHD resolution as h.264 MP4 files.
I am quite sure that some months ago this behaviour was not present. I did not change anything on Premiere CS6 but running the updates.
Trying to insert a clip on a new timeline form a different sequence in my source monitor. But the audio track does not come through.
I am running the latest CC of Premiere on Windows 8.
What is the best way to get consistent color from one monitor to another. Is that even possible?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMid-job (and of course now that I need to color correct), PP CC has stopped exporting video to my external monitor. I have tried trashing prefs (holding Shift+Opt at start-up) and it doesn't do the trick. In looking around, I've noticed people having this problem when using some BlackMagic cards, but my monitor is plugged directly into the Thunderbolt connector of my MacBook Pro. I've enclosed my Playback settings.
Oddly enough, when I fire up my old copy of PP CS6 it plays back to my external monitor just fine.
I've had had enough late-night edits that I may have inadvertently initiated some keystroke that changed a setting, but I can't think of what that would be or why a Preference Trash wouldn't reset it.
Iv'e looked every where for this button called "overlays" can't find it anywere?
How do i enable "monitor overlays"? in PP 7.1
I zoomed in on previous clips double clicking the timeline monitor and using the four corners tool. However, now when I drag clips in, they become distorted and zoomed in. How can I reset the monitor to match the source monitor?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can see the chosen video on the right side but I cannot see the previews of the other tracks or switch from one to the other. This project was working just fine and I didn't change any settings when it decided not to work. I just hopped over to make some adjustments to another timeline and then when I jumped back over to the master with the multicam nested inside it decided to stop giving me previews and prevents me from switching camera angles.

I have multicam editing enabled on the multicam sequence with the above tracks nested inside.
When I work on a project in PremierePro CS6 v6.0.5 and put my PC to sleep, Premiere crashes almost every time I boot up Windows again. There is no error number or anything, just a window saying that PP does not work and I only have the option to close PP. So I basically have to quit Premiere every time and load up the project again when I continue working on it, which can take some time if this is a long project.
This also happens with other PC I could test this on. This is happening since the very first version of PP CS6. I had a chance to test PP CS5.5 on this issue and this was not a problem their. I was testing with Win7.
I already submitted this bug quite a while ago, but all the updates did not solve this problem.
There is also another bug I noticed related to the second monitor preview in PP CS6, that also is not getting addressed for quite some time. When using a dual monitor setup the full screen preview on the second monitor does not minimize if I minimize PP by clicking on the PP icon in the taksbar. If I use the minimize button in the PP window (top right) the preview on the second monitor stays in the background as it should. Also if PP is minimized and I am working with another application (reading a PDF or surfing the web fo example) the PP full screen preview appears after a while on its own and blocks the second monitor. So I have to go to the PP window and back the the application I want to work in in order to get rid of the preview monitor being blocked.Here you can see what I mean: [URL]
This issue has also been tested on other machines with Win7 and they all had this problem. This two issues are obviously not related to my setup because I can reproduce them on other machines.
Capturing: I have a continuous miniDV tape that I am capturing, but Premiere keeps interrupting the capturing and makes short multiple clips...I have tried it with both Scene Detect ON and OFF. I just want the miniDV tape to play and to have one continuous file. How do I prevent the capturing process from splitting up the clip?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm no longer able to control the PP (monitor) volume using my computer volume controls. I've always controlled the monitor volume using my computer volume levels, but starting today, that has changed.
The volume is just playing at the level recorded with no way for me to turn down or up.I performed a disc repair and that didn't solve the problem.
In the program window, it looks like its been pushed way in on the full image in the source window. No matter what I do, I can't get it to appear the same as in the source window...
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been working the last 6 months with 4 GH2s and ran into some strange troubles when initially importing them to the timeline. 2 hour shots are divided into 6 or 7 different files, and when brought into PP the first clips audio was assigned to all the other remaining clips. This was pretty strange, but I fixed it by using TSmuxer. It was added time in the workflow/set up, but in the end I could produce;
The latest update of PPCC now combines the entire 2 hours of footage into each of the 7 files being imported. So it is importing 2 hours of footage 7 times for each camera. The conforming is taking forever! For 4 cameras it's conforming 14 hours of footage each, when it should literally be a 7th of that.
It is taking up large amounts of time and disk space.
How can I view a preview how all the video transition looks between 2 clips in Premiere Pro CS5 before I choose the one I want to use.
I always use Adobe Bridge CS5 when I need to see a fosmag on the effects in After Effects CS5, but can not get it to work and then I can also see the Video Transitions in Adobe Premiere CS5
I would like to view my work as I edit it on my prime monitor on a second monitor in order to get a view of the work as I edit on the prime monitor. Is this possible?

I went on line to decide which crt to buy as a replacement and was stunned to find only very low end units offered, I can not find any suitable crt choices.
I need advice as to, are lcd monitors now up to the task for quality editing in Photoshop.

I've read that the best way to shop for a new LCD is to test out each model 1st - even though I live on the border of Chicago (Evanston), I don't think there is any outlet available where this can be done.
I've also read that LCD makers use differing conditions and benchmarks to rate their contrast ratios.
I'm working on a graphic for a Flash presentation. I've been working in Windows RGB proof setup. Then I realized that when I save as a JPG, it changes color. I spent a lot of time getting the colors on this abstract piece perfect, and don't relish the thought of having to go it again using the Monitor proof setup. Is there a way to convert the way the colors look in Windows Proof to be the same as it looks in Monitor RBG proof?

I have checked all the plugs and no other programs have this problem.I have photoshop CS6 and up until just over a week ago it was working perfectly fine on both monitors.
I am using Photoshop CS4 and I just upgraded to Mavericks. When I opened PS I discovered that all the palettes that normally reside on a second monitor are now all on the same monitor with my PS document and I can’t drag them to the second monitor. It seems that PS does not recognize there is a second monitor there. I can drag documents and palettes from other applications onto this monitor so it appears to be only a PS issue.

Some LCD have presets, theater, games, etc. I want to calibrate my LCD so that if someone else is viewing my work on their monitor and they complain it is too light or to dark, I can say it is your monitor.
One of my LCD has two presets that are of interest 'standard' & 'sRGB' my other LCD doesn't have any presets. What is the best or near best calibration I can manually set both monitors too, if this is even possible on LCD.
I have a CS3 version on two computers. The color is way off on one although the monitor is calibrated. I have cross checked the preferences against each one, but can not find a difference. How to fix?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been running CS6 on my laptop for the past month with no issues regarding lag.
Today I decided to start using an old monitor as a second display, but whenever it's plugged in there is a huge amount of lag within Photoshop - so much lag that it is pretty much unusable.
From what I can tell, most other programs run fine with this setup (I've tried Sai and After Effects, and both are lag free).
I've tried searching this issue - and there's a lot about configuring refresh rates on the individual monitors so they're the same. Tried that - makes no difference.
Any settings within Photoshop I could tweak to make it run better?
i use led wide screen monitor but it's show wide and when i want to use photoshop i must change monitor resolution to 1920 * 1080 this is good & show everythin normal but this is very small if it's possible which resolution can i use that show normal & good for photoshop & other editing software
