Feb 10, 2014Mid-job (and of course now that I need to color correct), PP CC has stopped exporting video to my external monitor. I have tried trashing prefs (holding Shift+Opt at start-up) and it doesn't do the trick. In looking around, I've noticed people having this problem when using some BlackMagic cards, but my monitor is plugged directly into the Thunderbolt connector of my MacBook Pro. I've enclosed my Playback settings.
Oddly enough, when I fire up my old copy of PP CS6 it plays back to my external monitor just fine.
I've had had enough late-night edits that I may have inadvertently initiated some keystroke that changed a setting, but I can't think of what that would be or why a Preference Trash wouldn't reset it.
Premiere Pro :: Why Can't Open A Sequence In The Source Monitor
Jan 26, 2014Normally when I edit, I use pluralize, which creates a sequence in which I can take notes. I usually then drag that sequence into my source monitor, create in and out point and place that into my final timeline. For some reason, Premiere is not letting me drag the file I need into the source monitor. Is there something with the settings off?

Mar 30, 2014After installing the trial version of Premeire Pro I've been trying to make a quick test video using an MP4 file on my computer. I've been able to successfully import this file into Premeire however I am unable to see this video in the Source Monitor and the Program Monitor (after having added it to a sequence). I've tried re-encoding the file in AVI and WMV formats however neither of these two worked either. I've also tried just bringing in JPG and PNG images and have be unsuccessfully in viewing these as well. I have however been able to export a still image using the Monitors. So far after about 3 hours of googling the only possible answer to this issue I have been able to find is that Premeire requires 2 seperate harddrives to work; However this seems inaccurate as the program has made no attempt to warn me or even check to see if the computer I am using it on had 2 hard drives during install and start up, nor do I remember seeing it in the listed minimum requirements on the Adobe website. I am more than happy to view a lower quality preview so long as I can actually see what I am doing before rendering in a higher quality.

Mar 1, 2014I can see the chosen video on the right side but I cannot see the previews of the other tracks or switch from one to the other. This project was working just fine and I didn't change any settings when it decided not to work. I just hopped over to make some adjustments to another timeline and then when I jumped back over to the master with the multicam nested inside it decided to stop giving me previews and prevents me from switching camera angles.

I have multicam editing enabled on the multicam sequence with the above tracks nested inside.

Feb 17, 2014I have signed up with the cloud service, Feb 2014. I have downloaded Premiere Pro and am going through training tutorial (the Eagle doco). I have downloaded and imported the video into a bin but when I put it into the source monitor (top left of standard display), I see black but hear audio. I know the video is fine as can play from desktop. Have opened another project, using other source video I also know to be good, but same problem...no video visible in source monitor but audio ok in source monitor. This is a brand new Premere Pro installation. Is there a settings change I need to make?

Oct 7, 2013When I work on a project in PremierePro CS6 v6.0.5 and put my PC to sleep, Premiere crashes almost every time I boot up Windows again. There is no error number or anything, just a window saying that PP does not work and I only have the option to close PP. So I basically have to quit Premiere every time and load up the project again when I continue working on it, which can take some time if this is a long project.
This also happens with other PC I could test this on. This is happening since the very first version of PP CS6. I had a chance to test PP CS5.5 on this issue and this was not a problem their. I was testing with Win7.
I already submitted this bug quite a while ago, but all the updates did not solve this problem.
There is also another bug I noticed related to the second monitor preview in PP CS6, that also is not getting addressed for quite some time. When using a dual monitor setup the full screen preview on the second monitor does not minimize if I minimize PP by clicking on the PP icon in the taksbar. If I use the minimize button in the PP window (top right) the preview on the second monitor stays in the background as it should. Also if PP is minimized and I am working with another application (reading a PDF or surfing the web fo example) the PP full screen preview appears after a while on its own and blocks the second monitor. So I have to go to the PP window and back the the application I want to work in in order to get rid of the preview monitor being blocked.Here you can see what I mean: [URL]
This issue has also been tested on other machines with Win7 and they all had this problem. This two issues are obviously not related to my setup because I can reproduce them on other machines.
Premiere Pro :: Why Does Sound Stop In Source Monitor (CS6) While Playing A Film
Dec 19, 2013I started a project and watch a lot of files in the source monitor to set IN and OUT points. When the file playes f.e. more than a minute the sound gets muted while the film is still running. First I thought it wood be a matter of my external HD from where I loaded the files. Now that I take the same or any other files from my internal sata 3 harddrive the behaviour is still the same.
When i scroll the mouse wheel to move some frames back and forth the sound is back when i hit the space bar. It's the same if i just hit the space bar once to pause and then hit it again to resume.
The effect shows after different amount of times, sometimes after 45 sec. and sometimes after 2 minutes +
I am running Pr Pro CS6 (latest update installed some days ago) on a windows 7 ultimate x64, 16 GB of ram, Nvidia GTX 670, i7 3770, HD is a WD caviar black
The movie clips come from a Panasonic Lumix FZ 150 in FullHD resolution as h.264 MP4 files.
I am quite sure that some months ago this behaviour was not present. I did not change anything on Premiere CS6 but running the updates.
Premiere Pro :: CC 7.2.1 Lags On Timeline And Program Monitor And Drop Frames?
Jan 8, 2014i have cc 7.2.1, and every basic operation i do on the timeline , moving clips, trimiming, scrubing on the timeline everything lags, its not fluid. When i do a simple scrubring on the timeline, the CTI takes sometime to get to the position i selected to do the playback.
But the worst part is the trimming or moving clips, it takes ages before i get an image on the program monitor. If i move a clip into a middle of 2 clips it takes ages to see those two little privews images with timecode, to see where to put it. So is very hard to edit like this.
Another odd thing is when in redering mode i select to use sofware only i dont have drop frames, when i chose cuda i have drop frames!!
I´m editing h254 from a 5d and 7d on externa llaccie usb 3 , have the a macbookpro 16g i7, iris pro and nvidia 750m, and a external samsung, via DVI.

Premiere Pro :: Plugin Reset Button Not Working
Jan 21, 2014I'm using the Filmconvert plugin and the reset buttons do not work. I have the latest version of CC and Filmconvert plugin.
Filmconvert support said that "The functionality of the reset buttons is provided by the application API... plugin developers do not code that functionality and have no visibility or control over it... which is why it must be a Premiere problem. Have you asked Adobe tech support for assistance?".
I've tried reinstalling Filmconvert plugin and also resetting preferences.
Is it a bug?How do I contact Adobe for support? They don't reply to bug reports.

Feb 4, 2014I'm no longer able to control the PP (monitor) volume using my computer volume controls. I've always controlled the monitor volume using my computer volume levels, but starting today, that has changed.
The volume is just playing at the level recorded with no way for me to turn down or up.I performed a disc repair and that didn't solve the problem.

Jul 30, 2008I took two images, one abstract render and one jpeg of COD4. I used the abstract render as my background layer and added text to make the next layer. Now what I want to do is take the jpeg and place it over the current two layers. Here is my question:
1. Everytime I try to open the image, the two current layers are gone and the image is the new background layer, how do I bring in the image without having it become the background?

How (and if it is easy) to scan in a base/master map map (for college projects) and then use PAINT.NET to manipulate another outline (secondary) map as a transparency over the base/master map:
1. Creating the background of the outline (secondary) map as transparent, leaving lines or points
2. Stretching the transparent outline (secondary) map over the base/master map so it fits as close as possible
3. Then after creating a number of transparent outline (secondary) maps create a slide-show of the seconday maps over the master map
4. If PAINT.NET cannot do this with ease any pointers what will?

A friend told me to just do a "tiff or pdf overlay". He said bring in the floor plan as a pdf or tiff and add what I want in acad. Of course he only knew how to tell me about it, not actually do it. Is this possible in ACAD 2006?

Feb 2, 2011I was in the process of making a banner for my own webcast, but I'm getting frustrated for clearing the background so that a floating banner near the bottom of the screen during the webcast/recorded show.
I've been saving/deleting/experimenting with tolerances so that the background is clear so it appears to float on screen (no effects, just a banner). I've done everything I can to get a clear background, but have been failing miserably, and i couldn't seem to find anyting in relation to this.
The screen size I'm going to be working with is 640x480. The banner I'm creating is 640x100 for the banner. I've also been keeping the Save Configurations to 8-bit so it doesn't effect (I could be very wrong about this too, though) video quality (atleast that I know of).
Here's an example of what I would like to do. . .
Instead of keeping the MF logo restrained in the border, I've been wanting to let it overlap over, but doing that I would get either black or white background, depending on the tolerances that I delete off, and as a PNG file.
Photoshop :: CS5 - Reexporting Gradient Overlays With Transparency?
Mar 19, 2013I am currently using photoshop CS5,
I have a layer that is a vector mask over a solid color. The fill of the layer is black, so when i set it to screen it's transparent. I then have a gradient overlay effect applied to the layer that fades from a solid color to a transparency. There is no blending mode applied to the gradient overlay, so it shows up as normal. It looks exactly how i want it to look!
The problem is when i try to flatten this layer, or export this layer as a PNG. The black from the fill shows up where it's supposed to be transparent, even though it's not otherwise visible. If i try to delete the fill all together, and use use a transparent block to overlay my gradient, it won't work, as there is nothing for the gradient to overlay on. If i try to make the gradient using the gradient tool and then using the vector shape layer, it is imprecise, and i know of no way to control how the gradient is applied, other than guessing with the mouse.
I have a bunch of these shapes that need to stack and use the exact same gradient alignment, and i need to be able to export them as png's. If i make them in illustrator and port them over to photoshop, there is still an issue with pixels smearing along the edges of my shapes.
Here's an example, the appropriate fading is on the top, but when i flatten or export i get the bottom:
VideoStudio :: Ordering Tracks When Using Multiple Overlays
Oct 1, 2010I'm using Videostudio 12 pro, and am using all 6 overlay tracks for chroma keyed effects. What I'm trying to do is order the tracks so I can control which tracks lays on top of the other. This can be done in Paint Shop Pro or any other publishing software, like Publisher, but I can't find anything that allows me to do this in Video Studio.
I've found that most of the overlay tracks lay on top of the previous track and it's causing difficulty in ordering the people in my clip. Is there a way to control this? Example, I'd like overlay track 5 to go on top of overlay 4 but it won't work.

Illustrator :: Overlays And Colour Dodge Printing
Nov 24, 2012I am currently attempting to create a wood grain background.
I saw that using an overlay gradient really makes it look a lot more realistic but this is to be printed so I am not sure if this is basically treated as a transparent gradient and may not print. Another step in the tutorial I was looking at was also to add another overlay with a colour burn tool so it creates a lighting effect. Again, does this add transparency (my gut is telling me yes).

I had an earlier issue where I had created gradients with a part of them transparent and they did not print and so I have been avoiding transparency at all costs. The funny thing was when I had a group of objects at 80% transparency they seemed to print fine.
What is print safe and what is not when it comes to such effects.
Lightroom :: Slideshow Module / Shadow For Overlays - Only For Mac?
Aug 14, 2013in Lightroom 5's Slideshow module, i use the Overlay panel (you decide if Identity Plate or custom text appear in the slide show). I've seen screenshots and tutorials where you could add shadow to those overlays - there was a Shadows section at the bottom of the Overlays panel.
But that was Lightroom on the Mac. In my Windows version the Overlays panel does not show the Shadows section that i clearly see on screenshots taken on Macintosh versions.

Jul 20, 2012I've been unable to resolve a problem encountered when I insert a "title" to overlay on the first 30 seconds of a corresponding video clip.
When played back, the subsequent portion of the remaining video clip past 30 seconds goes missing. However, on this "missing portion" the audio portion of the video clip is present while the video portion becomes solid black to the end of the clip. The same result happens when I burn it.
In the "PROJECT" playback mode both the title and the video play fine, as do both the video and title in the "CLIP" mode.
