There appears to be a significant difference between the image in my Source monitor and my Programme monitor. About 2stops. Might not look much when scaled down, but conspicious when on full scale.

Why can't I drop a clip in the Program Monitor from the Source Monitor in Premiere? When I try to move a clip from the Source to the Program Monitor, a hand displays with the "circle with a line through it" symbol.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter installing the trial version of Premeire Pro I've been trying to make a quick test video using an MP4 file on my computer. I've been able to successfully import this file into Premeire however I am unable to see this video in the Source Monitor and the Program Monitor (after having added it to a sequence). I've tried re-encoding the file in AVI and WMV formats however neither of these two worked either. I've also tried just bringing in JPG and PNG images and have be unsuccessfully in viewing these as well. I have however been able to export a still image using the Monitors. So far after about 3 hours of googling the only possible answer to this issue I have been able to find is that Premeire requires 2 seperate harddrives to work; However this seems inaccurate as the program has made no attempt to warn me or even check to see if the computer I am using it on had 2 hard drives during install and start up, nor do I remember seeing it in the listed minimum requirements on the Adobe website. I am more than happy to view a lower quality preview so long as I can actually see what I am doing before rendering in a higher quality.

I usually then drag that sequence into my source monitor, create in and out point and place that into my final timeline. For some reason, Premiere is not letting me drag the file I need into the source monitor. Is there something with the settings off?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have signed up with the cloud service, Feb 2014. I have downloaded Premiere Pro and am going through training tutorial (the Eagle doco). I have downloaded and imported the video into a bin but when I put it into the source monitor (top left of standard display), I see black but hear audio. I know the video is fine as can play from desktop. Have opened another project, using other source video I also know to be good, but same problem...no video visible in source monitor but audio ok in source monitor. This is a brand new Premere Pro installation. Is there a settings change I need to make?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI started a project and watch a lot of files in the source monitor to set IN and OUT points. When the file playes f.e. more than a minute the sound gets muted while the film is still running. First I thought it wood be a matter of my external HD from where I loaded the files. Now that I take the same or any other files from my internal sata 3 harddrive the behaviour is still the same.
When i scroll the mouse wheel to move some frames back and forth the sound is back when i hit the space bar. It's the same if i just hit the space bar once to pause and then hit it again to resume.
The effect shows after different amount of times, sometimes after 45 sec. and sometimes after 2 minutes +

The movie clips come from a Panasonic Lumix FZ 150 in FullHD resolution as h.264 MP4 files.
I am quite sure that some months ago this behaviour was not present. I did not change anything on Premiere CS6 but running the updates.
Trying to insert a clip on a new timeline form a different sequence in my source monitor. But the audio track does not come through.
I am running the latest CC of Premiere on Windows 8.
i have cc 7.2.1, and every basic operation i do on the timeline , moving clips, trimiming, scrubing on the timeline everything lags, its not fluid. When i do a simple scrubring on the timeline, the CTI takes sometime to get to the position i selected to do the playback.
But the worst part is the trimming or moving clips, it takes ages before i get an image on the program monitor. If i move a clip into a middle of 2 clips it takes ages to see those two little privews images with timecode, to see where to put it. So is very hard to edit like this.
Another odd thing is when in redering mode i select to use sofware only i dont have drop frames, when i chose cuda i have drop frames!!
I´m editing h254 from a 5d and 7d on externa llaccie usb 3 , have the a macbookpro 16g i7, iris pro and nvidia 750m, and a external samsung, via DVI.
In the program window, it looks like its been pushed way in on the full image in the source window. No matter what I do, I can't get it to appear the same as in the source window...

Is there a way when I add a marker to stop the scubber from going to the start of the video?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen exporting a sequence from Premiere Pro CC, you are able to toggle between 4 drop down options within Adobe Media Encoder on what Source Range you'd like to export (Work Area, Sequence In/Out, Entire Sequence, Custom) as seen here:
Is there a way to set the default Source Range to something besides Sequence In/Out?
My reason for asking is that sometimes I export multiple sequences at once using AME's Queue. I add my custom presets to each Sequence and hit export, but SOMETIMES I may have accidentally marked an in point on my timeline and by default it's set to export only that In-to-Out part of the sequence.
I know what you may be thinking...well, just don't add any In/Out points to your sequence on the timeline or clear them first. The trouble is that I often don't see them or catch them when working quickly. In Premiere Pro CC, I use the "Lighter Brightness" Appearance setting because it's easier on my eyes after editing 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. Sure, darker looks cooler, but it kills my eyes for some reason. Anyway, PPro CC has a troublesome appearance issue in CC where it's not "optimized" for editing when you change it to a lighter appearance like it was in CS6. I've already contacted Adobe about this and another appearance issue (involving highlighted clips when in Lighter Appearance setting) and they are "actively working on fixing this appearance issue asap".
For reference, here's Premiere Pro CC in/out points in default dark appearance (notice the slightly lighter grey area):

Not exactly optimized. Can hardly see it. This affects in/out points in the Source Window as well. Really hard to see.
Conversly, CS6 looked the best (the blue REALLY stands out making things easy to see):
is there a way to set the default "Source Range" to something else besides Sequence In/Out so that I don't end up doing what I just did and leaving for several hours while batch exporting only to come back and find that I exported only a "portion" of one of my big sequences?
is there still no way to disble / mute the audio monitoring in the source window? I'm aware that one could press G and type in a drastically low audio gain level, but this is a clumsy workaround.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a project which has become very disorganized over the last year of editing due to PPs poor ability to effectively share sequences/projects across multiple computers. My assistant editor used a different computer and so the links in the sequences point to multiple "source" files in the project (some in imported folders). However, there is ultimately only one original video clip. The problem is that Premiere Pro won't allow me to delete the nested versions of the source files without also REMOVING the clips in each of the sequences that uses them. For example, the project folder looks like this:
- Original File Folder
-- videoClip-001.mov
- Imported File Folder (imported on one of the many exchanges between editor and assistant editor)
-- videoClip-001.mov
- Sequence version 1 (Uses the second video clip, not the first - although they are ultimately the same video file)
If I delete the Imported File Folder, which only has a mirrored reference to the same video file as in the Original File Folder, then the clip in Sequence Version 1 dissapears. What I expect, rather, is to see a "missing media" message in the sequence so I can reconnect it to the version in the Original File Folder. But I can't. BIG HOLE in Premiere Pro CC.
Why do I want to do this? In a large project with hundreds of video clips, keeping order is very important. With the sequences using multiple "versions" of the same video clip, that order goes down the tubes and it becomes impossible to work.
When I import a particuar video clip into premier, there is a problem with the audio. It plays absolutely fine until 9 minutes through when all of a sudden the audio loops back to the beginning. The video carrys on as normal untill the end of the clip but the audio starts from scratch. I have tried removing the video, renaming, moving location, starting a new project, but no matter when or how I play the video the audio starts again 9 mins through! The video plays fine in any media player except premier. I have tried exporting the video but unfortunately the audio error also gets exported. The clip is crucial to a video I'm making and can't be re-shot!
View 1 Replies View RelatedMid-job (and of course now that I need to color correct), PP CC has stopped exporting video to my external monitor. I have tried trashing prefs (holding Shift+Opt at start-up) and it doesn't do the trick. In looking around, I've noticed people having this problem when using some BlackMagic cards, but my monitor is plugged directly into the Thunderbolt connector of my MacBook Pro. I've enclosed my Playback settings.
Oddly enough, when I fire up my old copy of PP CS6 it plays back to my external monitor just fine.
I've had had enough late-night edits that I may have inadvertently initiated some keystroke that changed a setting, but I can't think of what that would be or why a Preference Trash wouldn't reset it.
Iv'e looked every where for this button called "overlays" can't find it anywere?

I select an audio clip in timeline to open it in Source Window.
I try to change the IN POINT from inside the Source Window and I crash. Every time.
Then I click CONTINUE and get this:

I zoomed in on previous clips double clicking the timeline monitor and using the four corners tool. However, now when I drag clips in, they become distorted and zoomed in. How can I reset the monitor to match the source monitor?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to edit 4K source footage inside of a 1080p timeline in order to do alot of shot stabilizing throughout my project with the plug-in "Warp Stabilizer" that is standard inside of Adobe Premiere CC. BUT as soon as I drop the plug-in on my 4K footage that is inside of my 1080 timeline there is an error message that says "Warp Stabilizer requires clip dimensions to match sequence (fix by nesting)".
So I guess the "fix" is to nest my clips first then drop the plug-in on the nested clip. My question is this ... is the plug-in using the true resolution of my 4K clip that has been nested to stabilize my shot? Or is it basically using a 1080 proxy type file of my 4K source footage since it is "nested"?
I've never experienced this before, but perhaps that's beause I was never dependant on reading type in the videos I've previously produced.
how to keep the video quality of the source video when they insert it into the timeline?
I can see the chosen video on the right side but I cannot see the previews of the other tracks or switch from one to the other. This project was working just fine and I didn't change any settings when it decided not to work. I just hopped over to make some adjustments to another timeline and then when I jumped back over to the master with the multicam nested inside it decided to stop giving me previews and prevents me from switching camera angles.

I have multicam editing enabled on the multicam sequence with the above tracks nested inside.
Capturing: I have a continuous miniDV tape that I am capturing, but Premiere keeps interrupting the capturing and makes short multiple clips...I have tried it with both Scene Detect ON and OFF. I just want the miniDV tape to play and to have one continuous file. How do I prevent the capturing process from splitting up the clip?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I work on a project in PremierePro CS6 v6.0.5 and put my PC to sleep, Premiere crashes almost every time I boot up Windows again. There is no error number or anything, just a window saying that PP does not work and I only have the option to close PP. So I basically have to quit Premiere every time and load up the project again when I continue working on it, which can take some time if this is a long project.
This also happens with other PC I could test this on. This is happening since the very first version of PP CS6. I had a chance to test PP CS5.5 on this issue and this was not a problem their. I was testing with Win7.
I already submitted this bug quite a while ago, but all the updates did not solve this problem.
There is also another bug I noticed related to the second monitor preview in PP CS6, that also is not getting addressed for quite some time. When using a dual monitor setup the full screen preview on the second monitor does not minimize if I minimize PP by clicking on the PP icon in the taksbar. If I use the minimize button in the PP window (top right) the preview on the second monitor stays in the background as it should. Also if PP is minimized and I am working with another application (reading a PDF or surfing the web fo example) the PP full screen preview appears after a while on its own and blocks the second monitor. So I have to go to the PP window and back the the application I want to work in in order to get rid of the preview monitor being blocked.Here you can see what I mean: [URL]
This issue has also been tested on other machines with Win7 and they all had this problem. This two issues are obviously not related to my setup because I can reproduce them on other machines.
I have some MOV quicktime files that look fine in preview, when I move them over to program they get a letterbox around them. How can get the files to view in full frame in program?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to color match two shots and I'd like to be able to view them side by side while I adjust the colors in one of the shots. It seems like a good way to do this would be to view two program monitors side by side - but is that possible? I can't see that option anywhere.
Using the source monitor for comparison doesn't make sense to me as I've already color corrected the reference shot and the source monitor shows the original footage (ie. the wrong colors). I could of course try to match the shots based on the source footage of the reference shot and then apply a second color correction but that seems a bit unnecessary to me.
Or - I remember that in FCP7 there is an option to use split screen while color correcting two view two shots simulatenously side by side in the same screen/monitor. Is there anything like that hidden in PPro?
I was working on a project in Premiere Pro 6. I had imported about 200 files and almost completed the project. I tried to import another file and the import function would not work. In addition, it disabled about 90 percent of the program. Menu selections had turned grey. I closed the project and program and restarted, opening a much smaller project. Worked OK until I tried to import. The import wouldn't work, and the program was disabled. This is not a case of actually selecting a file to import. The function crashes before you have a chance to actually select a file. On deadline.

The volume is just playing at the level recorded with no way for me to turn down or up.I performed a disc repair and that didn't solve the problem.
What is the best way to get consistent color from one monitor to another. Is that even possible?
