is it possible to lock grid view to let's say the left (low grade) monitor and loupe (or any other view) to he right hi quality monitor without automatically switch the mode on the left when switching the view on the right monitor?
View 4 Repliescould come up with a "Lock grid to second monitor" option? I get a little peved when i'm performing some task and the grid jumps up on the main monitor. the adjustment controls are all on the main, so it goes to reason that the photo being edited should be locked the the main, and the grid be locked to the second monitor, or at least that there should be options like this. I'm using LR3.6.I don't see anything indicating that LR4 has any such option.

I would like to know ASAP if there is a safe way to share my autocad drawings with a specific autocad user that completely locks the files so they can not be modified, saved as something else and opened, or otherwise compromised. I have a client that wants copies in autocad of the drawing files. But I don't see a good way to lock them that is fool proof, and am not sure what such a question would be listed under in the help index. Is there a way of saving them that can keep them un-modifiable?

I never had it in inv.pro.2010 and earlier versions.

Here is the needed information:
Equipment: Windows XP system; Dell E773c monitor; Photoshop CS2; Canon i950; Nikon D70
Steps taken so far:
1) Set Nikon D70 to Adobe RGB color space
2) Calibrated monitor using Spyder2 Pro
3) Downloaded printer profiles that match paper being used
4) Followed instructions for Print w/ Preview: Adobe RGB applied; Photoshop determine colors; select printer profile; rendering intent- perceptual
So I think I did everything right. The printed picture is off in several tones and comes off darker feeling all together.
What can I do differently to make the output match the monitor?
I installed AutoCAD on a brand new Lenovo W530 with 2 graphic cards: Integrated Intel and Nvida K2000M. When I just work on the built in screen AutoCAD does not seem to work well, the mouse movement lags. The problem is gone immediately when I simply extend my desktop onto an external screen.. That is all I do : FN key + projector icon, choose extend desktop and enter -> AutoCAD works great.
Here is some background info / things I have tried:
1) I disabled Nvidia Optimus in BIOS to makre sure all graphics is on the Nvidia (i.e. disable integrated graphics) -> this did not solve the problem, also after applying the extend desktop trick
2) In the Nvidia 3d settings I made sure that AutoCAD works with the Nvidia card.
3) Nvidia drivers are upto date
4) When I open AutoCAD it appears in the nvida window (in the taskbar) that shows which programs are used by nvidia
5) After extending the desktop I stay with AutoCAD on the builtin screen
I've had a simple lisp I've been using for years that suddenly disappeared. It required that you identify a block name, tag name, and the value that you want the tag to be. All of this is performed via command line, so it is scriptable. Since I lost it, I've been experimenting with -attedit. This command comes frustratingly close to what I'm looking for, except it only appends an existing tag, or replaces a specific string within the tag; I can't get it to replace the entire tag, regardless of its value.

when I insert a window family the cut plane Revit uses is that of the family rather than that of the view. This causes a lot of problems for us when we need to cut the same window at different levels in different views and the window itself should look different. The window itself is built to look differnet at 3 ranges of cut plane height. However, if I try to control this throught yes/no visibility parameter it affects all views. I fail to make it view specific. Is there any way to make an instance parameter or view specific parameter for the cut plane/ visibility of parts in the window family. It is such a basic need for architects and I fail to understand its absence in the Revit. Generaly speaking one should be able to control what you see in each plan section view. It's an essential thing in architectural drawing.

What I woudl liek to be able to do is define the layer that the viewport is inserted on when I bring a view into a sheet using the sheetset manager. I love this system, but it does slow me down in that regard. If there is a setting or preference that I can switch to make that happen or am I going to have to write something to do it for me.

I have recently imported pictures *.CR2 with *.XMP containing GPS coordinates and altitude information.
From my last import (LR4.1 or 4.2) I remember that I was able to drag pictures in the Map view adjusting GPS coordinates, without touching altitude information which was what I needed.
Today I discovered that as soon as I move an image on the map, the altitude value is automatically deleted. And this happens in LR4.3 and also in LR5.0. I understand that if you change the GPS position, the altitude changes also, but for adjustment I have to make, there are no big altitude changes therefore keeping the original value for me is good.
Is there a way to "lock" altitude number, in order to keep the original value, when moving photos on the map?
i would like to have a feature in LR that allows me to LOCK finished photos to keep inadvertent changes from going undetected.
i would like to have a little key icon in the GUI of LR and the ability to set what exactly is locked in the LR catalog settings. so that i can either lock everything or only develop settings, keywords, ratings.. etc.[url]........
i know there are plugins who do this... but to be honest i prefer to have it build into LR.makes me feel safer and i know there will be no incompatibilitys in future versions..

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to 4.2, any image when displayed on the second monitory appears soft and blurry, even if the image in the first monitor is tack sharp. This happens in any view mode, such as loupe, grid, compare, etc. This was not an issue with 4.1 for me.
I'm running Windows 7 on an HP Pavilion dv7. 8 gig memory installed. It's got an Intel Core i7. 64-bit operating system.
Lightrooms crashed, which is a common occurrance. But, this last time was different. After I restarted it my catalog was not linked and all my settings were gone. I tried opening the catalog through the file menu, but absolutely nothing happens. I tried going to the folder and clicking on it but this only opens lightroom with no catalog. After having scanned this forum I found that I need to delete the .lock file, but after doing that the same things happen. how to open my catalog? Will reinstalling Lightroom work?
