When I drag the ribbon over to my 2nd monitor the configuration of the ribbon changes to a tabbed display. Is there a way to keep the tool type view of the ribbon (panel) on the 2nd monitor?
BTW...this is in drafting & annotation view.
I installed AutoCAD on a brand new Lenovo W530 with 2 graphic cards: Integrated Intel and Nvida K2000M. When I just work on the built in screen AutoCAD does not seem to work well, the mouse movement lags. The problem is gone immediately when I simply extend my desktop onto an external screen.. That is all I do : FN key + projector icon, choose extend desktop and enter -> AutoCAD works great.
Here is some background info / things I have tried:
1) I disabled Nvidia Optimus in BIOS to makre sure all graphics is on the Nvidia (i.e. disable integrated graphics) -> this did not solve the problem, also after applying the extend desktop trick
2) In the Nvidia 3d settings I made sure that AutoCAD works with the Nvidia card.
3) Nvidia drivers are upto date
4) When I open AutoCAD it appears in the nvida window (in the taskbar) that shows which programs are used by nvidia
5) After extending the desktop I stay with AutoCAD on the builtin screen
I'm using AI CC now, but I noticed this problem in earlier versions of AI: If I want to place a one-word label on an illustration I move the type insertion cursor to a speific point on the screen image and click, but then the flashing insertion point, where the label will actually start, pops up elsewhere, usually a line or two above where the cursor was, and a pica or two to the left, forcing me to type the label, then move it into position rather than simply typing it in the right place and moving on. The problem is merely annoying, but I'd like to fix it. It's probably a matter of ignorance-I simply haven't read the right documentation, but I don't know what to call the problem. Where can I find out how to change the position of the cursor relative to the insertion point?

Check preferences for "Text": "Select text-object by path only" should be off. Checked. It was off. Didn't fix it.
Check the toggle for Show/Hide Edges in the View menu. Cmd(Ctrl)-H. Checked. Edges Showing. Didn't fix it.
Trashed my Prefeerences. Didn't fix it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWorking on a poster in Illustrator. Have added area type, using the type tool. Now I'd like to increase the size of one line. I can't select or edit any of the type with the type tool. I moved the type to a new layer, saved, closed Illustrator, restarted my Mac (OS X 10.7.4). Looked in preferences, in case there's an issue there. No luck.

By the way, I also don't see handles when in the selection tool any more. Don't know if that's related.
is it possible to lock grid view to let's say the left (low grade) monitor and loupe (or any other view) to he right hi quality monitor without automatically switch the mode on the left when switching the view on the right monitor?

Equipment: Windows XP system; Dell E773c monitor; Photoshop CS2; Canon i950; Nikon D70
Steps taken so far:
1) Set Nikon D70 to Adobe RGB color space
2) Calibrated monitor using Spyder2 Pro
3) Downloaded printer profiles that match paper being used
4) Followed instructions for Print w/ Preview: Adobe RGB applied; Photoshop determine colors; select printer profile; rendering intent- perceptual
So I think I did everything right. The printed picture is off in several tones and comes off darker feeling all together.
What can I do differently to make the output match the monitor?
the type tool won't let me insert any type whatsoever in JPG or PSD files. I click the type tool and then click somewhere on the image and all it gives me is a dot but no flashing cursor. As I said, resetting my prefs/settings while starting up Photoshop did not help. Another weird thing it does is that when I go to Canvas Size for a medium sized image, it says that the width is 588 inches and the height is 288 inches.

After I created a viewport in a layout, I right click on the viewport border fully expecting a menu to come up so I can set the type to be 2d hidden. But nothing like that occurs. View 2 Replies View RelatedI choose the vertical type tool or the vertical type on a path tool or the vertical area type tool...and all I get are letters that are rotated 90 degrees clockwise that go down in a vertical line. The effect is the same as if I took one of these lines that I am typeing here and rotated the entire line 90 degrees clockwise. That is not the effect I want. I am tying to get vertical letters stacked on top of one another in a line going vertical. I watched videos and they simply pick the tool and it functions this way, but when I pick the same tool I do not get this vertical orientation of the individual letters, but the 90 degree rotated letter.Â

The type tool will not make the anchor where I initially click. It creates the anchor around the center point of the type box. This is really annoying because if you have a specific grid, it will not line up to it. I have never adjusted this I don't think because now I have no clue on how to fix it!

Also, my pen tool seems to be messed up. I first create the starting point, but then when I make the second point and try to drag out the node arms to make a curve, it only has one arm! Thus, the curve never is created, so I can't draw with the pen tool, therefore I fail my classes..
What type of objects can be projected into a profile view? I know that points, feature lines, and multiview blocks can be projected with variable results. I can't even find a simple list within Civil 3D's.

If I have a "idw" file open containing an assembly (asm), and another "idw" file containing a part (ipt), how can I determine, using a VBA macro the type of file that I have used (either "assembly" or "Part")
If the "Idw" file contains an assembly, running the maco should say "assembly". If it contains only a part (ipt) then it should say "part"..Is this possible using a vba macro?
I have several students working in 2012 or 2013 PC & Mac education edition who set the line type properties correctly but the line does not "read" correctly. Checked global scale factor, listed the content to confirm layer and line type as hidden, etc., checked the properties, made sure the line type and color were set to "by layer". It doesn't matter between model or paper space - the lines will not read.Â

In PSE 10 it was possible to use all tools in one palette with one click in the Quick-Mode. Now in PSE 11 we have to open each individual tool before we can use it? After the action this tool closed, so that we have to open it again in the next step. This takes much more time. Is ist possible to switch back to the arrangement of PSE 10?

1. When in style and Standard editor with default standard selected under Standard I am trying to display mass properties in my view label.Select View Preferences tab. View type Base. Next to Display select Edit View Label.When Format Text box pops up in the selection for text type I have two options.
    a. Properties - Model
    b. View Label Properties
2. Inside an IDW file right click on view and select edit view.When Drawing View box pops up there is the option to access Edit View Label next to View Identifier.When Format Text box pops up in the selection for text type at this point there are seven options.

I would like to add mass to my lablel inside certain templates and have it show when I display a views Base view label. Not ot have to maunually add it each time it is displayed.
I created text on a curved path using the pen tool and the the type on a path tool. However, there are portions of the text that I want to taper. For example, my text begins horizontally, continues to the right, and gradually curves downward. As the text curves downward I would like it to taper smoothly into a narrower and narrower text.

What is strange, this trash enclosure wall displays the plan view filled region (referenced via callout), but when I try to show a hatch for concrete and a hatch for metal door, in elevation, the filled region changes "all" filled regions to what ever is chosen.

Then I tried a new circle to see if that changed things. same deal
