AutoCAD Inventor :: Axonometric View Of Model With Specific Angles

View 4 RepliesI need to create an axonometric view of a model with specific angles (see attached). What is the best and quickest way to do this?
View 4 RepliesSeeing that creating axonometric views is possible in a 2D drawing view, how to create and save a customized axonometric view in the 3D modeling environment?
Currently the only options are front, back, top, bottom, left, right, isometric and random...
I'm having problems getting Inventor to dimension using the current view option on an assembly. I ungrounded the assembly and constrained it to the angled work planes that I needed so I have to use the current view option, but when I try to dimension to the intersection of the angles, it won't give me a dimension.I'm using Inventor 2011.

CIvil 3D 2013 / My drawing opens in layout view and all model objects are appropriately coloured by layer. If I hit plot at this point, my colour dependent .ctb file works fine. However, once I swtich to model view, all my linework turns white and if I switch back to Layout view it remains white and plots each line with the weight assigned to the colour white.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Illustrator CS5 my anchor point handles are snapping to specific angles, which I don't want. I have to turn off Smart Guides to freely adjust the handles.
Under preferences, Smart Guides, I turned off the custom construction guides, but even this did not correct the issue. I love using Smart Guides and I thought there were just in face that 'guides' and provided no snapping.
I also tried turning off 'snapping to point' to see if that was creating an issue, but no dice.
I can provide my system settings in case:

Wanted to ensure I was not missing a feature I couldn't find or research before trying to reset my preferences.
I got a square at about lets say 30 degrees ; the bounding box of it at another random angle different from the 30.When I try to rotate to 90 degrees it';ll just rotate from my current position .How do I rotate to a specific angle if its posible to 90 or 0 as to get it on a straight angle and then move it to the angle I desire?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a way of using Ilogic to make hidden lines of specific parts in an assembly drawing view visible? If a part with hidden lines showing is suppressed and then unsuppressed the hidden line option becomes unchecked, therefore I need a way of rechecking this option through code?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering in inventor 2010 how to create a 3d model section view of a 3d model assembly or if its even possible.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIDW views:
Regarding a view created from a part that is not on an orthographic plane in the model:
After placing a standard idw view from a model that's on a weird angle to the construction plane, I have to "rotate" it, and then create another projected view from that view, and then rotate the new view, and create a projected view from that 2nd view, and then rotate that 3rd view, in order to get an orthographic view into the drawing.
BUT, when the model changes, the main view skews, and is therefore not orthographic any longer.
When that happens, the program forces me to start from scratch, and create a new main view, and then basically re-draw the entire idw sheet. This is a total time waster, and costs $$$.
Is there any known way to make the original view return a true orthographic view?
Please note that once the view has dependent views, the 'rotate view' command is disabled.

I am using a number of sketches in a skeleton to control multiple solutions.
I am using case statements that apply values to my variables and create my solutions which is working fine however,
for clarity of what is being used in a given solution I want to turn on/off the sketches in my code. I have created a set of model views that when active properly turn off the visibability of the appropreate sketch.
While model view is among the things that can be selected for use in the code, so far as I can tell, I can not find a function that will allow me to set a view true so that it activates the view and my sketches turn off.
Is it possible to creat Single Line Isometric from the Piping Model?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've started working on a project but I'm a little out of practice. I need to create a standalone application, with a window to view the active model. Essentially, it'll be a viewer tool with some other minor functionality for interrogation.
Alternatively, Is there a way for me to add a viewer window to my form? Like an InventorViewWindow Control or something?I've spent the last day or so searching, but nothing really useful has surfaced.
How to show the deflection anglesof alignments. I want to show those angles in band set or profile view.
AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 SP 2
My part is at an arbitrary angle relative to one of the planes and i cannot align the view in a drawing to be horizontal.I try to make a view, in the part file, in which the model will be horizontal, but there isn't any precise input for views.
I used the Look At tool to look at one face and all i need now is to rotate the view 90 degrees round one axis, but when i touch the line of the compass in the Constrained Orbit command the view jumps back to some position.
One of the new features in 2013 is the ability to copy a view that is on the idw. Is there a way to copy/paste a view, then replace the reference of ONLY the part in the view that was just copied?
What I have is two parts. For simplicity, just imagine both as a square plate. One has a hole in it, one doesnt. I have already dimensioned the square plate. Now I copy the view and paste it back on the sheet. I want to replace the reference of the one I just copied and change the reference to the part with the hole. If I use replace model reference command, it will replace both references, which is what I dont want.
Just a wish I guess, but the only way I can do this now it to place the second part on the sheet and start dimensioning it. Seems like a waste when we almost have the tools to quickly complete this.
I can "Get Model Sketch" to make it appear visible in a drawing view. But I can find no way to use these "edges" or "lines" or "entities" or whatever they are, later in a drawing view sketch. No way to project them from Model Sketch to Drawing View sketch. I can attach leaders and dimensions to these Model Sketch entitites but I can find no way to use them in a sketch owned by the drawing view. Am I missing something?

I'm trying to model a ceiling mounted arm system with the possibility to change arm lengths and angles.
My problem: I have a box with a cylinder attached to it. No problems there. Then I have another box which is the first arm of the system. I want the arm to move when I change the length of the cylinder so that the arm is always connected to the cylinder and the cylinder always connected to the other box.
I'm trying to do this with iLogic, and i'm not getting anywhere. What I need, is to be able get to the iProperties of an associated model that is referenced into a drawing file. I want to make it easier to update the iProperties from the drawing file, without having to open the model file.

Let’s say you have a large building plan in model space but there is only one small area of the building that the view port is looking at. Is there a way that you can draw around that viewport and then take that into model space and paste it in the same place so now you have the same area located in both views?
At the moment I need to try and work out where the view is by drawing a rectangle around the correct area of the building and this is time consuming.
I could then trim/delete everything else outside that box.
When I have placed dimensions in model space with a text height of 2.5 now do I get them to a readable size in paper space
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had a simple lisp I've been using for years that suddenly disappeared. It required that you identify a block name, tag name, and the value that you want the tag to be. All of this is performed via command line, so it is scriptable. Since I lost it, I've been experimenting with -attedit. This command comes frustratingly close to what I'm looking for, except it only appends an existing tag, or replaces a specific string within the tag; I can't get it to replace the entire tag, regardless of its value.
1> Any lisp routine that does what I describe?
or
2> How to make -attedit replace a tag value without regard to what the value currently is (like a * wildcard)?
I want to create finished paperspace-tabs, with a specific layer-configuration.
How can I manage that? Each tab has to be exported to PDF as a finished configuration, without changing layers in the end.
In a part file is it possible to find the adaptive workplanes used to create extrusion1. And then find if the two workplanes are at an angle with respect to the origin planes.
Have been looking for a while but it seems hard to find information on workplanes
In the course of working up a tooling proposal, I attempted to replicate a 3D part from a customer print. While doing so, I noticed that 3D Sketch will not, under any circumstances that I can find, allow an angular dimension between a line and a plane. The customer print has two pipes projecting at odd angles from a base flange, one of which has an elbow. The print lists datum dimensions for the open pipe ends and the elbow, and gives vertical and horizontal angular dimensions to define the directions in which the pipes emerge from the flange. I have defined these three datum points in 3D space without any trouble, but Inventor 2013 will not allow me to define an angle between these sketchlines and the XZ and YZ origin planes, or between these sketchlines and the faces of the flange base I've constructed.
I am currently waiting on a proper 3D CAD model from the customer, and I'm considering longhand trigonometric calculations to place these lines properly, but I find it very hard to believe that Inventor is incapable of constraining a line to lie along what is effectively the surface of a cone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe issue I have with Inventor 2010 is when i dimension a rectangle to be 44 in wide and 79 in height it becomes a slated rectangle. This event occurs on the work version of Inventor 2010. I have an educational version of Inventor 2010 at home and when I tried this same dimension rectangle at home it didn't have this issue. Is there a setting I need to turn off to fix this.
