I need to edit the scales and add custom ones, but when i type _SCALELISTEDIT, nothing happens, I know that its selected as my layout isn't any longer, but I can't find the darn window where the scales are located. I've also tried using the menu as well. This is for ALL drawings. New and already created.
View 8 RepliesAnytime I try to add a custom scale either by selecting the "custom scale" option from the paperspace viewport scale menu or by entering the command SCALELISTEDIT manually, the dialog box doesn't appear.
It's not that the box isn't opening because all other buttons and functionality are restricted in AutoCAD until I hit escape to exit out of the command. It's as if it's opening on a separate monitor, except it doesn't appear on my secondary monitor when I plug it in either.
Is there a command where I can manually add a custom scale or a property that I can change to force the box to be docked?
All my drawings have loads and loads of obsolete scales on them. Trouble is, when I run the scalelistedit function, Autocad 2008 comes up with the following message:
'Unhandled exception has occurred in a component of your drawing.If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.Index was outside the bounds of the array.'
This is driving me nuts because I don't know what this means and the long scale list is slowing down my work (especially when I 'copy-paste' bits of drawing from one autocad file to another.get my scalelistedit function working again!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 2 files, A100 and C100, with C100 being xrefed into A100. Both have a few other xrefs in them, being used for whatever reasons, and must stay.If you open either file without the other being present, they open fine, but if they can find each other there's a 20-40 minute lockup.
C100 being a civil drawing, I thought the problem was one of the missing .shx files. So after spending countless hours trying to track it down, I finally noticed a warning when trying to open the files together that C100 had 2200+ scale lists. Using 2008 in the office, scalelistedit gives a runtime error, as well as the 2008 install at home. Using 2010, scalelistedit is successful in solving my 20-40 minute problem. (I did save back down to 2007..)
Now, back in 2008, the Style Manager won't open, as it says there is content from a newer version in the file. Also, any xrefs with AEC content, walls etc, come in without displaying said content.
I use the command -scalelistedit to clean the strange scale , i do purge , save , close and when I re-open the drawing the bad scales are back
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to be able to check if an Annotation Scale already exists and if it doesn't I would like to create it using the SCALELISTEDIT command and then set it to be the curent scale. I then plan to invoke the MLEADER command.
I do not want to have to rely on adding every possible scale in the list beforehand as my program would fall appart when a user decides to set an unusual scale I haven't thought of adding to the list.

I'm here with 2013 SP2 64 bit Build 200 and two screens. Left screen is graphics area, Browser is on the left of right screen. Graphics is ATI Fire Pro V7800 with driver 9.3.3.3000.
In video (zipped MP4) you see a cutout of both screens, think of screens changing at the left of the browser.
Now, in many cases, after doing an operation, the browser is jumping back to the middle of my graphics in the left screen.
I attempted to copy with base point some blocks from one drawing to another and got a blue screen saying physical memory dump, and then my computer restarted. I tried the same thing using the insert as a block, but had the same problem. I am using autocad 2012
I'm running Windows 7, it says with 8gig ram, and video card is a Intel(r)hd graphics family. The computer is less than 2 weeks old.
When using the 3DClip command, the mini screen no longer appears for me to complete this task. Also, about 50% of the time, my drawing will lock up or fatal error when trying to utilize the 3DClip command.

When it launches, I get the following:
"AutoCAD requires 1024 x 768 resolution or higher to run"
I have a newer laptop (Dell Precision M6600: +/-Jan this year). The screen resolution is set at 1920 x 1080 (the recommended setting). On any other program, the screen resolution is fine, everything works.
If I try to launch AutoCAD, the screen takes on a noticeably lower resolution to the point where I can not select commands from the screen, some commands don't "fit" and are therefore missing. It took a while to figure out how to even close out of the program to go back to other versions that work.
I Have several PC's with 2011..On some machines the layer transparency is not working anymore on screen.90% transparency red is normally light pink but on some machines with the same drawing and the same settings it is 100% full red.A few day's ago there was no problem on those pc's

And every time I close down AutoCAD and open it back up, all the palettes load back up in the middle of my left monitor (dual monitor set up). I typically have my AutoCAD window open on the left monitor, and my palettes on the right monitor.
I have tried to save my profile, lock all Toolbar/Palette positions.....and nothing has any affect. My palettes always load in the middle of my left monitor.
I tried loading the latest graphics drivers, no affect.
When I try open AutoCad, at first it loads fine, doing all the pulg ins and that, then just stops.
The text in the corner just says "Loading", and I've left it for hours an it really isn't.
I cannot get the Full-Screen Tracking Vector to display. I toggle the button in Options>Drafting and hit apply, but nothing. Help says that the Track path System Variable should be = 1, but when the button is on, the Variable = 0. If I set the Variable = 1, it shuts the button off.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn my drawing I have set my UCS to a gridline (I'm drawing up a survey from a construction site), named the ucs 'square' and then set Plan view to Current so that it is nice and square to the screen. I saved the drawing in this plan view.
However, when I reloaded the drawing this morning, my 'square' plan view has become 'World'. Also my 'square' UCS has disappeared from the list of UCS's. I thought this was just a funny bug so I typed 'UCS' followed by 'w' hoping the world UCS would go back to the real one, but nothing happened. As far as I know it is not possible in ACAD to rename, alter or in fact do anything to World UCS (for good reason), but this is what ACAD appears to have done all by itself.
Luckily I have all the site gids saved in their 'world' orientations so I can get round it by a simple bit of copybase/paste/rotate, (but it means my dimension text is all going to be skewiff).
As a caveat I should add that I am a very exprienced ACAD user (7years) and regularly work in 3D in all kinds of views and UCS's and I've never had this happen before.
Every few weeks when opening a drawing, my computer restarts (just plain crashes windows and it restarts automatically). This only happens using AutoCAD, no other program has done this as of yet. I have no service packs installed and I haven't seen another post that refers to this problem. When I click on "Check for solution", nothing comes up.

Sometimes this happens when I'm working with photoshop : first it doesn't do anything for a moment because he is processing something (I don't have loads of RAM) then suddenly like 5 help-windows open... Now, when I step away from my computer for longer than 10 minutes a screen saver automatically comes on. I cannot disable the screensaver, I'm running AutoCAD Mechanical 2011 (updated with SP2); Windows XP Pro SP3, 3.25 GB RAM, Matrox M9128 LP PCIe x16 (Latest Driver) dual monitors.
For some reason, my autocad application will not display the text type on screen correctly. This began on Friday of last week (10/19), and remains today (10/21). It is not simply one drawing file, but all drawing files that I open. When I initiate the MTEXT Editor, the correct font appears, but not in the drawing window.

I wanted to select a page number located on the lower left corner of each title block of each drawing but found out that the “window selection” doesn’t keep selecting what doesn’t appear on the screen (if zoom in is applied)! For example, if I select a number of drawings and “zoom in” is applied then the window selection will only keep selecting what appears only on the screen!
Then how to let the “window selection” keep selecting all the objects regarding whether they appear on the screen or not?

Is it possible to override all the colors of an existing *.DWG to a Monochrome Format? I want to be able to open any autocad file and veiw everything in black and white IN MODEL SPACE.
I am not interested in 'changing layer colors' or 'manually changing blocks to the right color.' Right now, I explode the entire drawing (several times depending on how deep something is grouped) and change the color to by layer, but sometimes blocks become contaminated and lose all their data. (In addition, I am not interested in plotting in Monochrome.)
If this task is impossible, is it possible to change the definition of the color "yellow." What I mean by the previous statement is to trick autocad into thinking it is using 'yellow' when it is actually using a different color. Sort of like an induced color blindness.
SUMMARY: I don't want to change a color FROM yellow, I just don't want yellow TO EXIST.
