AutoCAD 2010 :: Rendering Produces A Blank Black Screen
Jul 1, 2012However, rendering seems to be hit or miss with me. Sometimes autocad will render objects and then, all of a sudden, rendering produces a blank black screen.

View 1 RepliesBlank/Black Screen when opening some CorelDraw files.
I have several hundred CorelDraw files with various images and design that I use for printing for our business.
Recently I have opened files to discover either blank or black screen in the CorelDraw file. I can use Object Manager to see that the image and text are still present, but I cannot view it. I can also export the image to a PDF even though I cannot view it. Other files open without any issue. One file opened fine and then when I went to cut an image the file turned black and is now in the same condition as other files with the problem.
Using CorelDraw X4.
I am running CAD Map 3D 2011 and a Windows XP SP3 machine with 4GB RAM and a 128 MB 3D card. I am trying to send the plot to a HP Designjet 800PS plotter.
The file that I am working on is not overly large and has no raster images or OLE objects attached. It does have several open database connections that I am using to theme one of my drawing layers. The sheet itself is an odd size (36" x 54"), but I have printed other drawings of this size before and I've never had problems.
When I first plotted the sheet, it was taking forever to spool, so I ended up canceling the print several times. I finally decided to try to plot to PDF, but this created a HUGE spool file (2.65 GB). Since it was actually spooling, I went ahead and let it run. It ended up taking about an hour to spool and print the PDF. Before I opened the PDF, I checked the size and found it to be about 12 Mb. When I opened it, all that was there was a blank sheet. After that, I re-sent the plot to the HP plotter and just let it work overnight. When I got in this morning, there was a 36" x 54" blank sheet waiting for me.
I've checked the basic settings and none of the layers are frozen, off, or set to not print. I also increased by page file size to work with the plot, but that does not seem to have had any effect. I've tried creating several different .pc3 files, but the issue has stayed. I am now trying to have another person open the file and print it from a different workstation, but so far no luck.
As a side note, I tried a work around by plotting to a dwf file using the included dwf driver. This spooled and plotted very quickly (<60 seconds) and the dwf file appears just fine in design review. However, when I try to print from design review, it won't let me set it as a 36" x 54" plot; it keeps with with the standard print sizes only.
i just installed the 2012 autocad on my laptop and everytime i use trim or rotate or anything else the screen just goes black and the computer freezes for a few seconds and then it comes back and tell me that its trying to adjust the program with the monitor but it never ends and it keeps doing the same thing. btw my laptop specs are: windows7 home premium, intel i5, 6gb ddr3, intel HD3000 graphics.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI think I'm pretty close to understanding how to get realistic interior lighting with nice soft shadows etc. However, I can't figure out how to get the sun & sky background to stop putting all these spots on my walls!
I previously made a version using 1000 "rays" for "Final Gather" and it looks a bit better....but it's still spotty.
How to get genuine soft shadows sans spots from the sun & sky background?
I've played with every parameter I can think of, but nothing smooths out the spots even a little bit.

Following instructions from Autodesk as to how to install the Raster driver for image exports I installed "plotters" for JPEG, TIFF, BMP and PNG. None of them work. When I try to one of them, the result is a blank file about 39KB in size.

I have tried using Bullzip PDF printer but that also produced a blank PDF.
I've used some colorful gradients in photoshop but recently they are appearing to be partially black (black was never part of the gradient). When I save these images and view them in other paint/viewer programs, the gradient looks fine however in photoshop they look terrible.
One attached image is a gradient as saved from photoshop as a png and you can see the colors are fine. The other attached image is a screenshot of that same image as seen in photoshop. Note the black center which is the problem.
what could be happening here? Nothing on my computer has changed.
I run Windows 7, 64 bit with 16 gigs of ram and an AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series video card (I do wish I had an Nvidia but that's a topic for another thread)
why i cannot change the color of the background when rendering? It is always black, and i cannot attached or make new material, if need to attach jpeg or new texture on my drawing, cannot create new material. what should i do? im currently using autocad for mac 2012.

Everything is fine except a scene. When I open the scene,it's blank in the preview window but everything is here, just like the first picture. When I open again(didn't close the maya window),it's better but still blank in the default quality rendering, like the second picture.Until I switch to the high quality rendering mode,it just display something like the third picture.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having this issue with the new PS CC. It happens whenever I try to add/edit a text. Pick the text tool, click onto the work and -- bang! -- the whole work screen gets blank. Depending on the project size it may get stable at a certain ammount of zoom and keep blinking (or go completely blank) at other zoom factors. If I finish text editing the screen gets back to normal. Funny is that if I type something, it will be there, so the problem seems to be with the viewport.
PS: Currently I am going to download and install back the CS6 version as the issue reported above does not happen with it.
When I try to transform an object my screen goes blank, how can I correct this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using the final released Photoshop CS6 software, not beta, and am having the same issue with the Patch tool. I start to drag around an area to make a selecton, and the screen goes blank so that I can't see where I'm making the selection. When I release the mouse, the image appears again. Another problem which may be related is that sometimes when I zoom in, the screen goes blank. Closing Photoshop and re-launching it usually fixes the problem, but is an annoying time-waster. I have the most current update from the Cloud for Photoshop CS6, 13.1.2.X64.

We have reduced the number of rendered frames to 50 but the problem persists.
Whenever I attempt to marquee select (click-hold and drag a box) in Viewport 2.0, the viewport becomes a blank white screen and instead of drawing a box my mouse draws a single thick line. When I release the mouse, the viewport will not return to normal until I move the camera. It actually does perform the selection that I would expect. However, not being able to see what I'm doing is a bit of a pain sometimes.
The irony is that it actually works fine in default and high quality modes, but I'm not able to use those because the transparency sorting is really wonky and doesn't let me see what I'm trying to work on from the angles that I need. Only Viewport 2.0 solves that problem.
Why has my rendered DVD turned out to be 'square' looking on our wide screen? I want the video to fill the screen entirely. We have a flat screen LED tv. I set the rendering to 16.9 but must have made a big mistake.
