Apr 29, 2013I can rotate my crosshairs by using ucs object, but how do I rotate all the objects in the drawing to be horizontal on my screen?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Two Rotating Objects Interfering
Mar 24, 2013I am right now working on a door with a door handle and a lock.
So far i have gotten the door handle to work more or less.. The only thing that annoys me is that when i rotate the door handle to the limit, it'll reset rather than "lock" and just wont move anymore.. Anyways, that's not my main issue here.
My main issue is that when i mess around with the lock-handle, it will often interfere and pull in the doorhandle, change the location and just act odd..
It is no problem the other way around. I have no problems using the doorhandle without it doing anything to the lock.. I have tried to make more space between the two handles, but it makes no real difference.
AutoCad :: Rotating Drawing Without Selecting Objects?
Feb 2, 2012is there a way to rotate my whole drawing without actually selecting the objects in it. ? i.e to say, the drawing rotates itself according to my viewpoint [my eyes] and i dont have to rotate my neck to view the tilted objects in drawing.

Dec 11, 2010I am extremely new at Corel Draw X5. I am in the middle of a design; page 30cmx160cm (for printing purposes) however to make it easier my design is sitting 160cmx30cm
I have started the design consisting of 200+ objects. By grouping them i presumed that it would make one object and when I rotated them 90 degrees to fit the page they would rotate in the same they sat originally.
But when I rotate the group it rotates the individual objects on their individual axis not on a group axis.
Is there anyway getting around this without moving each individual object?

In AutoCAD, for instance, you can start the Rotate command and select the object, enter the rotation base point, and then enter a reference point (such as the opposite end of the line). Sketchup's rotation command operates in much the same way.
2. Finally, is there a way to save a custom rotated view, so I can return to it on demand like the default views (top, left, right, back, bottom)? Revit :: Rotating Objects In A Project?
Jul 20, 2012I am currently working with a point cloud inside of revit. But, The point cloud comes into revit in a geospatialy correct position. Therefore, it is skewed and not near the origin where you would normally model in revit. I need to be able to rotate my project without actually changing the position of my objects.
I use CAD alot as well so the best way to describe this would be, in CAD, being able to set your UCS to an object, and then later on reseting your UCS to world.
The main purpose of all this is to be able to bring my floor plan into a sheet without it being rotated to the same orientation as the Pointcloud.

Sep 14, 2012DView commands. We're using layout drawings of sites that are aligned with True North.
We've been using DView to rotate site layouts within model space in order to to align the layout better within the window and set up icons as such. And we have multiple Sheets set up with different information being displayed (ie different layers turned off). But when we go to the sheets, the Paper Space view still shows it's Original Orientation.
What I'd like to know is there a simple way to set the various different layouts to the same as Model Space, Without having to manually DView each Viewport as well?
AutoCAD 2010 :: Dims In Xref Rotating?
Apr 3, 2012We have a base drawing that is xreffed into other drawings, it is made up of various building sections (some horizontal some vertical). We have dimmed the grids using linear dimensions. When we bring in the drawing as an xref and rotate it 90 degrees (so the vertical sections are now horizontal) all the dims are now upside down.
Is there a variable/method to stop this from happening.

Jan 11, 2013I'm working on a drawing which requires me to rotate 3D rectangles until they are leaning against each other like dominos. Because they are standing on a curved path only one top corner of each will touch the adjacent rectangle, and because each one is shorter than the last the point at which they touch is different every time. There are over 40 rectangles.
I have no problem picking the correct axis of rotation for each but I want to avoid time-consuming calculations for the angle of each or the reference Point for each. Ideally I'd like AutoCAD to rotate until it recognizes that the solids are interfering.
Is there a command or a LISP for this?

Jul 31, 2013I have wall section sheets that are best viewed in portrait mode, but use the same landscape page setup as the other sheets in the set. So the viewports for the sections are rotated 90 degrees and difficult to read on the screen. Is it possible to rotate the paper space UCS and rotate the paper space "view" to match the UCS, like you can in model space?
I don't want to rotate the viewports and title blocks themselves & set up a portrait page setup. This is because I'm using Acrobat's PDF maker for batch plotting and not using the same page setup for each sheet makes one click, fire-and-forget publishing impossible. And I don't want to use DWG-to-PDF because it doesn't have any configurable image compression settings that I know of.
If it's not possible, then it's not the end of the world. We have AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD LT 2012 & 2013.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Rotating Survey Text And Points To Front View
Oct 30, 2013I have been capturing data for measured building surveys with a Leica total station (TS06). When I upload the data into autocad i can see the node points (+) and text in the top view. When switch to look at the points from the front view (to produce an elevation), the text and points appear as a flat line, although the insertion point of the node/text is still correct. I need to find a way of rotating the text and points so they are visible in this view. I will then flatten the points and cut them to the top view to produce a 2d elevation.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Aligning Objects In Modelspace With Objects In Paperspace?
Apr 10, 2012I'd like to know how to align an object in model space with the edge of my viewport in paperspace.
When I draw, I like to lay out multiple complete drawings in model space, make an appropriately scaled bounding box around them, and then snap a view port to the bounding box in my layout. I usually have multiple drawings lined up in a row in modelspace, so when I want a new layout I do a Save As and then pan around in my viewport to find the next bounding box, at which point I have to resize the viewport to get it to snap to the edges nicely. I really want to be able to to it the otehr way around- while panning I'd like to be able to grab a corner of my modelspace bouding box and snap it to the the corresponding corner of my viewport window. That way making new layouts would be a snap. Is there a way to do this in AutoCAD 2012 LT?

We have a user that can't open some OLE DWG files from within a word document. He had 2010 AutoCAD LT on his machine for a while then was upgraded to 2012 AutoCAD (non LT) once that was there LT 2010 was unistalled. since then he has not been able to open certain embedded OLE files within Word. Other users that have other ever had AutoCAD 2012 have no issue opening this embedded DWG files.
i found this thread (URL....) which sounds exactly what is going on with my enduser. But the fix provided is for AutoCad 2000-2012 not the LT versions.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Missing Objects From Dwg In 2013 Save As 2010
Dec 20, 2012I am using autocad 2013 primarily and other employees are using 2010. I am saving my drawings as 2010 and for me there are no issues. On the other hand people using 2010 are having objects missing in the drawing. All layers are turned on and all thawed. The primary objects missing are AEC objects. Is there a switch to show or hide these object?

Oct 7, 2010I have a function that uses AcadApplication.ActiveDocument.SendCommand to allow the user to scale the inserted lines and text before the next step of the process, but AutoCAD does not display the scale prompt until after the entire program finishes. The prompt works well, but needs to be displayed before I end the sub.
How do I get the command to be sent immediately? Is there another way to allow users to scale the items I insert? The screen needs to be refreshed before the scale command is called, so that the lines and text I just added shows up. I have attached the code for the Send Command call and for the function that calls it.
AutoCad :: Selecting Objects Off Screen With Dragbox?
Mar 22, 2012my problem is that I can only select objects that are shown on screen on the second click.
For instance, I'm using the green select box (dragging right to left) to select a large amount of items in a really tight spot, (between 2 parallel and horizontal lines only 3mm apart. My problem is that I can zoom in on the right hand side, select the lower right hand corner, zoom out, zoom into the top left corner and select. It'll only select what's shown on screen, which is literally 3 out of 1000 items.
Is there a variable to allow the selecting every object in the select box, with no relation to zoom levels or panned areas?

Feb 15, 2013If I have a list of handles for Autocad Entities, how would I go about selecting these entities on screen so that the user could add to this selection or remove objects from the selection? I could go with object ids as well if needed.

Jun 3, 2013I'm here with 2013 SP2 64 bit Build 200 and two screens. Left screen is graphics area, Browser is on the left of right screen. Graphics is ATI Fire Pro V7800 with driver 9.3.3.3000.
In video (zipped MP4) you see a cutout of both screens, think of screens changing at the left of the browser.
Now, in many cases, after doing an operation, the browser is jumping back to the middle of my graphics in the left screen.

I'm running Windows 7, it says with 8gig ram, and video card is a Intel(r)hd graphics family. The computer is less than 2 weeks old.
