May 22, 2012I'd like to create sheet notes with different line spacing and paragraph spacing in ACA 2013. When I change before/after Paragraph spacing settings in the Text Formatting window, I get a message reading "please provide a value within range of 1/4" and 4". I'd like to use 1/8" for the paragrpah spacing, which is the same size as the text.

Oct 14, 2008Wouldn't it be handy to be able to colour guide lines individually? I notice there are some lines called smart lines but I can't find out how to show those. Apparantly they automatically appear when you draw but I haven't seen them yet (I'm using CS2 on Windows XP Professional - I've read that CS3 doesn't seem to want to show them).

Oct 11, 2007The RSS logo is, as we all know orange and has a nice gradient in it. Now, what I'm trying (and failing) to do, is to colour it so that I can get it to match any colour of my choosing. I've tried looking into "Match colour...", "Photo filter" and "Colour overlay" but to no aveil. I'm obviously barking up the wrong tree.

Jun 16, 2006I want to do is colour in my scanned black-and-white images, but I have no idea where to start.
Basically, I'm drawing black-and-white comic strips, then scanning them in with the aim of colouring them on Photoshop. But first off, my scanner isn't great and it has left shadows that I don't want.
Secondly, it would be a brilliant help if Photoshop could somehow "recognise" which areas were black and which were white, so that all the black bits were the same colour black and all the white was really white rather than off-white in places. This would also help when it comes to filling in the colour, because I could then click "fill colour" (or whatever the appropriate command is) and it wouldn't just fill in a tiny pixel because it's a slightly different shade of white to the pixels next to it.

What I would like to do is to "none" colour two opposite sides (strokes) of the square while keeping the fill color inside. What is the best way (or any way for that matter) of doing this?

Jun 15, 2013Trying to work with gradient mesh colouring the nodes and every few nodes I colour the selection stops working and i cant select the mesh. Doesn't matter if which selection tool I use or even the gradient mesh tool its still the same issue. I can see the mesh lines and when i click with any tool on the mesh lines will show up in black but i cant select it to see the nodes. The only way that i've found around this is to save the work, close the file and reopen it. It's starting to be a pain as im having to do this every couple minutes.
I've done all CS6 updates and still getting the same issues so now im stumped.

GIMP :: Colouring Book Stamp Type Images (2012)
Jan 23, 2012I want to make colouring book pictures for my students from photographs of themselves (want to see kids get excited about something - give them a picture of themselves to colour in). Right now I am using the cartoon filter, desaturating the image and then painstakingly selecting by colour, each greyscaled set of pixels and then cutting them so that in effect, the image becomes a traced black and white image. I am wondering if there is an easier way to do this - I have tried using the threshold and levels filters - but I find that it makes the image too pop-arty, like those Che Guevara type T-shirt graphics. Ideally I want to literally make the image look like colouring book picture or a stamp. Is there an easier way to do that without having to pick and delete the greyscaled parts of the image?

Apr 16, 2013Sometimes when I use the freehand or shape tool to outline an object I want to cut out it doesn't turn black. I have magnified the objects before looking for a possible break in the line but don't ever find one. So I usually just end up reloading the photo and usually have success which is a pain.

Jan 23, 2012I'm messing around with shapes and bevels and I have this shape (attached .xar file) that is basically two lines - I need one of them erased! I don't really care if it's the top line or the bottom one. No this isn't actually two lines, or that would be easy (well it would be draw a rectangle over it and clip it several times, right? But no, this is a shape, so when I draw a rectangle, and try to slide it, it does two things - 1) it does slice the shape, but leaves behind lines or 2) completely removes the original shape and leaves only the (now weird shaped) rectangle. Aug 8, 2011I'm working on a project, and all of a sudden when I ad a outline line width to an object the outline seems transparent to me. I can get it to stop doing this with copying other objects in the scene that have a solid line around them, but as soon as I go back to the other items the transparent line width starts happening again.

Mar 23, 2012This is probably a ridiculously simple thing. I have just started with Xara Photo and Graphic designer 7, and gone through the vids. I am finally acknowledging that Adobe Image Styler (my sweet baby!) is going to have to be given up. Coming from that, I am finding Xara more challenging to use.
When I save an image (jpeg), it exports with a tiny white line around it. I am trying to make a gradient image for a website, and need the edges to blend when I have it repeated (background image).

Jan 9, 2012I'm doing Gary's Create a Sunflower and pot (July 2008) tutorial and just as always I run into problems combining/converting shapes. I believe I have followed the tut exactly and the only thing my lines do is taper at the bottom.
Also, I'm using Designer 7 and there is no option for changing line width to 6 px, only 4 and 8. So I'm using 8 pxls. I tried typing in a 6 and hitting enter but it doesn't accept a 6.

Feb 22, 2011I know I must be doing something wrong but I've never had this problem before. I am trying to place a line on my worksheet by dragging it from the line gallery. Nothing happening.
