Wouldn't it be handy to be able to colour guide lines individually? I notice there are some lines called smart lines but I can't find out how to show those. Apparantly they automatically appear when you draw but I haven't seen them yet (I'm using CS2 on Windows XP Professional - I've read that CS3 doesn't seem to want to show them).
i am doing some smoke photography and am attempting to colour the smoke. i would like to try a new method by adding a 'colours' layer below the smoke of another photograph, and to have the colours from this layer colour the smoke layer above. how do i do this?
I am about to change colour of the ferry pictured below to white. (I mean the colour of the lower part of the ferry should be all over the ferry), and I also want to remove the clouds on the upper part...
The RSS logo is, as we all know orange and has a nice gradient in it. Now, what I'm trying (and failing) to do, is to colour it so that I can get it to match any colour of my choosing. I've tried looking into "Match colour...", "Photo filter" and "Colour overlay" but to no aveil. I'm obviously barking up the wrong tree.
I want to do is colour in my scanned black-and-white images, but I have no idea where to start.
Basically, I'm drawing black-and-white comic strips, then scanning them in with the aim of colouring them on Photoshop. But first off, my scanner isn't great and it has left shadows that I don't want.
Secondly, it would be a brilliant help if Photoshop could somehow "recognise" which areas were black and which were white, so that all the black bits were the same colour black and all the white was really white rather than off-white in places. This would also help when it comes to filling in the colour, because I could then click "fill colour" (or whatever the appropriate command is) and it wouldn't just fill in a tiny pixel because it's a slightly different shade of white to the pixels next to it.
I hope I'm using the right terminology here... imagine a square drawn by Pen tool. A square with a stroke and fill. What I would like to do is to "none" colour two opposite sides (strokes) of the square while keeping the fill color inside. What is the best way (or any way for that matter) of doing this?
Trying to work with gradient mesh colouring the nodes and every few nodes I colour the selection stops working and i cant select the mesh. Doesn't matter if which selection tool I use or even the gradient mesh tool its still the same issue. I can see the mesh lines and when i click with any tool on the mesh lines will show up in black but i cant select it to see the nodes. The only way that i've found around this is to save the work, close the file and reopen it. It's starting to be a pain as im having to do this every couple minutes.
I've done all CS6 updates and still getting the same issues so now im stumped.
I cannot figure out why when I click on an object and attempt to change the fill colour in the swatch panel Illustrator colours the stroke and not the fill.
I want to make colouring book pictures for my students from photographs of themselves (want to see kids get excited about something - give them a picture of themselves to colour in). Right now I am using the cartoon filter, desaturating the image and then painstakingly selecting by colour, each greyscaled set of pixels and then cutting them so that in effect, the image becomes a traced black and white image. I am wondering if there is an easier way to do this - I have tried using the threshold and levels filters - but I find that it makes the image too pop-arty, like those Che Guevara type T-shirt graphics. Ideally I want to literally make the image look like colouring book picture or a stamp. Is there an easier way to do that without having to pick and delete the greyscaled parts of the image?
I need a tutoral for colouring in my pencil sketch, and I've already used Alpha Mask/Isolate Lineart on it. The problem is I don't know how to colour it in. I googled, but the results are pretty much all about Photoshop..
I purchased a big jpg file from an online stock image provider that has a collection of items (a collage of 200 fruits in this case). I now need to extract individual fruit images from this big collage. By using photoshop selection tools I was able to select all the individual fruits in the image and now want to create new individual png's for each of the selected fruits in the image. Is it possible to automatically create a layer for each of the individual selections so that I can use Script -> Export Layers To Files .I have been looking for a solution online but to no avail.
We're a college and we're having trouble with Photoshop CS6 opening for 4 [at the moment] individual users. The error follows them from mac to mac, but another ue can log on after them and everything works fine, so it must somehow be linked to their profiles, but we've reset/deleted these and it's made no difference. I've attached screenshots of the 4 error messages they get. because at the moment these students cannot do their work properly?
I need to know how to save an individual color channel. I am able to split the channels, but they are in gray and not color. How would I save them in color? My PS is CS5.
I wanted to ask about whether it is possible to separate all the pieces of paintings in this document to their individual layers?
I want to make a website and use each of these as graphic so separate documents would be fine too.
These are 100 "boxes" btw, so i cant simply select and Layer via cut all the time
if Im not clear...basically, all the boxes in this image are in 1 single layer, i need to make separate jpgs/pngs for every box, would be great if someone could guide me through...i have removed the background btw.
I'm working on a RGB file and I accidentally hit 'Ctrl 3' which brought up the blue channel - I really liked the image in that channel and I was wondering if it was possible to print it - as it's black and white it looks quite moody and interesting..
I've been trying to change the brightness/contrast of a single channel (red channel, etc.), but it always applies to all of them, even if I select only one of them. I havn't been able to find and option which will allow me to work with them individually.
Over the years and months I have create a lot of styles to make it easy for me to do one click on things such as text and jazz them up a bit. Now I want to give a friend one of the styles that I made, without having to give them ALL my styles as its very large. Is there a way to export just an individual style or a selection of them, rather than exporting the whole thing, which i know how to do. Thanks.
I'm trying to reconstruction using DICOM CT slices, but Photoshop wants an image stack (which I do not have). Is there any way to convert the slice (300 individual files) to a stack, or force Photoshop to import all of the images?
I have "Sweet On You" spelled out in 3D with each letter having its own layer. Can I render the individual 3D layers together or do I have to do them separately? What should the letters look like after they're rendered? When I render them individually, the previously rendered letter turns white.
I'm going to work on a composition that will include made different photos. I'm not sure how it will be printed, CMYK or RGB. Without know for sure:
1. Should each individual photo file be set to RGB or CMYK?
2. How much of an affect will it have on the quality of an image if it is changed from RGB to CMYK or the other way around after it has been worked on?
3. I need to request photos from others to be included in this piece. Does the physical size of each photo matter as long as the photos are 150 or 200dpi? Should I request specific sizes or just photos with specific resolutions?
I'm just testing out the new CS6 extended version and am on the trial period using a mac.
My problem is in editing the 3d objects I have imported. These were imported in 3ds format and contain numerous different elements (over 50) within the same file. All are neatly to scale and positioned correctly in relation to one another.
I need to be able to edit these individual elements within photoshop and assign different materials. I can't seem to separate these individual objects onto different layers in order to work with them further. In addition, although I can scale or move the elements, I cannot delete them without deleting the whole layer.
I have tried looking at merge 3D layers but as I only have one layer it doesn't work. How can I assign these objects to different layers without importing each element separately into photoshop (and therefore losing their scale and position)?
I'm having issues moving individual layers once they've been put into a group in CS5. It just moves everything in the group! Very inconvenient. This hasn't happened to me before or in CS6. How to correct this?
how to make an action that can export individual layers within a PS document and rename each layers in the process.
I have set up a 320 x 180px canvas and have 'Placed' in about 20 images that all need to be exported with the Save for Web option.
Problem is, when I set the action to Save for Web and choose the destination, Photoshop names my newly exported image as the document's title (for example, 320x180_Canvas.jpg). But as soon as I try to make it move on to the next layer, it will automatically replace the first exported image with the new one, renaming it the same way, and so on and so on for the next 2 layers...
So essentially, I can only export one layer at a time - unless I make an action to Save for Web for individual documents and not layers (so instead of having one document with 20 layers, I have 20 documents with one layer)...
I took a series of photos that would make a nice animated GIF if I can align the pictures. I could try to do this by eye, but it would not work very well. Is there a way I can use photoshop to line up the pictures so they superimpose properly to make the animated GIF?
I have 3020 (three thousand and twenty) individual .jpg files that are 72x90 pixels each, and the images have borders. I would like to make this lot of images arranged into a hi-res wallpaper (my current resolution is 1680x1050, but I would like it a little larger for possible future larger resolutions), without gaps, placed starting horizontally in alphabetical order.
This might seem like an odd request, but I'm stumped on how to do it. I wouldn't mind if someone did this arrangement for me, but I would also like to know how to perform it myself, as I would like to do it again in the near future.
