I'm trying to reconstruction using DICOM CT slices, but Photoshop wants an image stack (which I do not have). Is there any way to convert the slice (300 individual files) to a stack, or force Photoshop to import all of the images?

View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to edit DICOM metadata with javascript. I am editing a bunch of DICOM images and have to give them new descriptors in the "Study Description" field. In one of Adobe's help pages, it states You can also view and edit metadata for DICOM files in Bridge or in the Photoshop File Info dialog box. DICOM files support external automation through scripting..I presume this means that editing DICOM metadata should be scriptable, but I have not found a means to access the "Study Description" field.

I try to import my DICOM files using the checkbox "import Frames as layers" in the DICOM open dialog box. Photoshop Still opens the Dicoms as individual Documents and NOT as ONE document with x layers for each dicom file.
Anyone else have this issue or is there an easy fix?
my DICOM naming convention is as follows:
name####.dcm
I am trying to open about 400 dicom images that are the MRI scan of a head/brain so I need them all in one doc and not 400 seperate docs (which ps wont let me open 400 docs at once anyways its limit it says is 200)
Is there a way to do this? Is there a script out there that can create individual Symbols from individual layers?

I purchased a big jpg file from an online stock image provider that has a collection of items (a collage of 200 fruits in this case). I now need to extract individual fruit images from this big collage. By using photoshop selection tools I was able to select all the individual fruits in the image and now want to create new individual png's for each of the selected fruits in the image. Is it possible to automatically create a layer for each of the individual selections so that I can use Script -> Export Layers To Files .I have been looking for a solution online but to no avail.

Apparantly they automatically appear when you draw but I haven't seen them yet (I'm using CS2 on Windows XP Professional - I've read that CS3 doesn't seem to want to show them).

The error follows them from mac to mac, but another ue can log on after them and everything works fine, so it must somehow be linked to their profiles, but we've reset/deleted these and it's made no difference. View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm going to work on a composition that will include made different photos. I'm not sure how it will be printed, CMYK or RGB. Without know for sure:
1. Should each individual photo file be set to RGB or CMYK?
2. How much of an affect will it have on the quality of an image if it is changed from RGB to CMYK or the other way around after it has been worked on?
3. I need to request photos from others to be included in this piece. Does the physical size of each photo matter as long as the photos are 150 or 200dpi? Should I request specific sizes or just photos with specific resolutions?
I'm just testing out the new CS6 extended version and am on the trial period using a mac.
My problem is in editing the 3d objects I have imported. These were imported in 3ds format and contain numerous different elements (over 50) within the same file. All are neatly to scale and positioned correctly in relation to one another.
I need to be able to edit these individual elements within photoshop and assign different materials. I can't seem to separate these individual objects onto different layers in order to work with them further. In addition, although I can scale or move the elements, I cannot delete them without deleting the whole layer.
I have tried looking at merge 3D layers but as I only have one layer it doesn't work.How can I assign these objects to different layers without importing each element separately into photoshop (and therefore losing their scale and position)?
I'm having issues moving individual layers once they've been put into a group in CS5. It just moves everything in the group! Very inconvenient. This hasn't happened to me before or in CS6. How to correct this?

I have set up a 320 x 180px canvas and have 'Placed' in about 20 images that all need to be exported with the Save for Web option.
Problem is, when I set the action to Save for Web and choose the destination, Photoshop names my newly exported image as the document's title (for example, 320x180_Canvas.jpg). But as soon as I try to make it move on to the next layer, it will automatically replace the first exported image with the new one, renaming it the same way, and so on and so on for the next 2 layers...
So essentially, I can only export one layer at a time - unless I make an action to Save for Web for individual documents and not layers (so instead of having one document with 20 layers, I have 20 documents with one layer)...
I must be missing a crucial point here.

I would like to make this lot of images arranged into a hi-res wallpaper (my current resolution is 1680x1050, but I would like it a little larger for possible future larger resolutions), without gaps, placed starting horizontally in alphabetical order.
This might seem like an odd request, but I'm stumped on how to do it. I wouldn't mind if someone did this arrangement for me, but I would also like to know how to perform it myself, as I would like to do it again in the near future.

The only option I have is to re-create the whole individual workspace time and time again, whenever it gets lost. View 4 Replies View RelatedIn PS CS 6 it used to be possible to draw a shape, like a rectangle, and then use the direct selection tool to select and move one corne of the rectangle. However, in PS CC this does not work anymore. When I try to use the direct selection tool, all anchor points remain selected and so I can't move a single point, just all of them at once. What might I be doing wrong? Did something change in the CC version?!

That file has guides which I use to register and align every page (each page is therefore its own layer). Is there a way I can make an action and save off each individual layer as its own jpeg? I set up an action but I don't know how to get photoshop to save it with a distinct namespace. The first action I set up basically prompted me to re-name each layer as I saved it, which isn't really saving time. What I want is for the action to start at the bottom layer and turn off the visiblity of all the layers above it, save the visible layer as a jpeg with a name based on the layer and then turn on the next layer's visibitlity and repeat, until all layers have been saved.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have contact sheet(s) of 12 (3x4) photos. I want to automate the export of these to individual photos - I don't care about the loss of resolution and I understand that I can't get back to the original high-resolution photo.
They are pretty simple - thumbnail profile photos with captions on a gray background. I don't care about the captions - I can add those by hand later using copy/paste. What I do care about is getting individual photos. It should be simple to programmatically (or using a PS plugin or filter, or Bridge) to export these. However I can't seem to figure it out.
Am I missing something with the apply image command? Couldn't I perform the exact same task just by blending individual layers or images?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have recently installed Photoshop cs6 on two Mac Pros. On one of them, Photo merge is erasing parts of the individual images while stitching. The part of the original image that is covered by masking, is also erased when the mask is disabled. The merged image generally comes out fine, however, this problem can make it much more troublesome if one needs to adjust the combined image.
On the second Mac, Photo merge works the way that it seems to work in all examples I´ve found online - the individual images retain all their pixels under the mask.
The method we´re using is Layout: Auto, with "blend images together" as the only checked box.
