Photoshop :: Get Individual JPEGs From DSLR Video?
May 10, 2012I need to pull a few frames from a Nikon (.avi) video to process, but I don't see how.
View 4 RepliesI need to pull a few frames from a Nikon (.avi) video to process, but I don't see how.
View 4 RepliesAnd that problem is how I can remove the frames, let's say for about ten minutes, of a video I made with an DSLR-camera. Maybe the answer is simple, nevertheless I couldn't find it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have assembled a wholel lot of scanned pages from my sketch pad into one psd file. That file has guides which I use to register and align every page (each page is therefore its own layer). Is there a way I can make an action and save off each individual layer as its own jpeg? I set up an action but I don't know how to get photoshop to save it with a distinct namespace. The first action I set up basically prompted me to re-name each layer as I saved it, which isn't really saving time. What I want is for the action to start at the bottom layer and turn off the visiblity of all the layers above it, save the visible layer as a jpeg with a name based on the layer and then turn on the next layer's visibitlity and repeat, until all layers have been saved.

I know that I can use a develop module preset to apply an edit from a captured frame of video. Most, but not all develop module settings are availalbe via this technique. One setting that is not is "spot edit heal".

I have a small dust spot that appears in every frame of video in a blue water background shot underwater with my housed Nikon D7100. Is there a way to remove it with Lightroom?
I took many jpeg's & a few video's on my camera the other day. All jpeg's all imported OK but the video didn't. It's the same format as I have imported many times before .MTS (light) 1280 x 720). I can play the video in the camera OK. I can play the video in Windows 7 OK. When I select the clips that I want to import from PSE 10 I see the thumbnails, select those I want press the button & a few minutes it just says import failed with no explication given. I have even selected the pictures from the cards video file & tries cut & paste but nothing happens.I'm running windows 7 pro 64 bit.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to create an animation sequence in Photoshop cs6 longer than 5 seconds. In previous versions the length of each video layer could be extended easily. Now it appears you need to make each video layer a maximum of 5 seconds. Document settings doesn't resolve this problem. I've found out how to extend the timeline but, crucially, not the length of individual video layers beyond 5 seconds. I believe CS5 and previous versions had this enabled.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am working on a video piece and I need to mask out a moving figure throughout the entire video, what is the best way to to this? I know that I can import the video frames to layers in CS3 and then create a mask on each frame, but there are thousands of frames - and when I render the video from the animation it is slow to run in quicktime. Even if I were able to edit each frame, it seems like there should be a better way.

EDIT: I pasted this in the wrong forum so i moved it over here.
I am doing a project for school that requires me to "scan" some old books by shooting the pages with a DSLR-type camera. The setup is kind of like a poor-man's planetary scanner, but unlike a real PS, it doesn't have fancy proprietary software to "flatten out" the curves in the pages (near the binding and in the middle) that distort the text. Since part of my project involves processing the images with OCR into ebooks, I need the lines to be as straight as possible for accuracy's sake. I figure photoshop has GOT to be able to handle distortion correction like this, but I am clueless on how to do it. So far, I have tried to get close by cropping the pictures with a perspective correction, but the pages are still unreadable near the binding and in the middle.

For example, I created a time-lapse from 90 images in VSx6 from the same size images, but the video did not have the sharpness I expected. The individual photos were sharp as a tack, but the video seemed almost out of focus.
Recently got a canon 7D and X3 crashes when I try to edit them. Its fully updated and I even tried a new install so I was stuck converting the files to mp4s in Hitfilm.
So my question is how does X4 fair with .mov files from a DSLR at 1280x720 60p? I can't waste another day converting files like that and I have another shoot booked on the 28th.
how to use video in LR 4, but never says how to import. All my vids (nikon) are greyed out.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently been brought on to a production (hour long doc) that's pretty much already been edited to time (picture locked), however at the time of the editing they didn't have a broadcaster. Now they do have one on board that's requesting delivery in 60i.Â
Â
All the footage was shot at 29.97p with a 5D Mrk 3. The show was started in Premiere CS 6 but they upgraged to Premiere CC. I know that it's now possible in Premiere to change the sequence settings of a pre-existing sequence. I was just wondering what would be the simplest way to convert the footage / timeline to 60i from 29.97p footage sititng in a 29.97p sequence. Do I have to re-transcode all of the footage in the edit? or can I just change the sequence settings and have premire treat the 29.97p footage as 60i? I assume this wouldn't change the running time of the edit since I'm just splitting the progressive frames into fields.Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedI sometimes have probs with JPEGS saved in PS, when sent to customers, they cannot open them (sometimes). I used to resave i microsoft photoeditor
or corel paint.
I have a tiff file of a painting I scanned at 300 dpi. It's original image size when I open it is photoshop is 57.8 MB, 18" W by 12.477" H, Res 300. I need to resize it and send it as a 300 dpi jpeg. I have started in the image size dialogue box and just change the W to 11.25. That automatically changes the H to 7.798 and the res still says 300. The file size reduces to 22.6 MB. I click ok and then go to save as and choose jpeg. In the jpeg box I chose 12 Max and baseline standard and click ok. The saved file is reduced to 8.5 MB. When I open it in photoshop, it opens at 300 dpi when I look in the image size box. However, when I send it to someone else and they open it, the file is only 72 dpi. What am I missing to get the file to save at 11.25 inches, jpeg, but remain 300 dpi?
View 10 Replies View RelatedIf we convert a color image set at 300 dpi to grayscale and save as a jpeg, and place in Quark Xpress, the image acts as if the resolution is set at 72 dpi. (In color, it acts as if it's 300 dpi.) If we save it as a grayscale TIFF, it acts properly as if it's 300 dpi.
Â
Is this a bug, a "feature!", or can we change a setting? Is this only true for use in Quark, or do other have this issue placing images in different programs?
I am in the process of editing photos from our old website to be used on a new website. I am finding that half of the photos I have will not open in Adobe Photoshop. The error message reads: "Could not complete your request because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found."

What does this mean? How can I fix it? These are the only JPEGS I have of these photos!
I set levels in photoshop and then when I open them on my PC in Windows picture viewer they are much lighter and overexposed looking. How do I set up my photoshop CS2 to be at the same level.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just installed an Epson 7900 printer, but I cannot get a printer dialogue (File > Print >) to come up with a PSD or TIFF opened in CS4. Oddly, it only opens with a JPEG! With a PSD or TIFF I get the message "To perform printer-related functions like page setup or printing a document you must first install a printer." An Epson tech told me I would likely have to reinstall Photoshop. This is the first attempt to print anything from my relatively new PS CS4 software. Note: I was able to run a test print from Lightroom 2.0. CS4 also apparently fails to find my HP LaserJet and an HP all-in-one inkjet during these times.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever I open a jpeg from my dig camera and I work on it on PS CS2, at saving time, it always goes right to Save AS. I just simply want to overwrite the previous picture without going into the quality dialog box. I want to keep the original size, but just want to save the changes.
How can I disable that in CS2 (if possible)?
I know that there is some loss of detail when a file is converted from a RAW format into a JPEG file due to compression of the file. What I didn't realize (based on what I've read and am being told) is that the quality of my original JPEG file can slowly degrade simply by opening..saving..and closing the file becaue each time you save a JPEG file, it recompresses the current data...which causes the file to loose additional detail.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI´m processing my time lapse sequence(about 500 pictures) to jpegs. I did this same thing with Cs5 many times. When saving the pictures to jpegs in camera raw window, the cs5 software was able to process 2-4 at the same time. In cs6 it processes only one picture at a time and that way is much slower than cs5. Am I missing something? I tried to change the performance settings but it made no difference.
