When ever I open a picture in CS2, automatically rotates the picture to its right-side-up position. So when I do batch actions for a watermark the water mark is all screwed up. Is there a way to turn off that feature.
View 4 RepliesPhotoshop and Bridge CS5 does not rotate SOME of my vertical images. Most other photos taken in the same time frame and with the same camera display perfectly. Orientation is checked for display under Preferences, Metadata, Camera Data.
There also seems to be a discrepancy how Orientation is described under Metadata for those images which DO auto rotate : sometimes it is -90 (which is how I hold the camera for verticals and which displays on most verticals) and sometimes it is "normal" even when it has auto rotated the image. I do not understand this difference."Normal" is also used to describe the orientation of those images which DO NOT auto rotate for viewing.
The photos in questions were taken using a Nikon D-300 which is programmed to indicate the orientation of the camera and has always been programmed to do so. I know I can manually change the orientation but we are talking about hundreds of images (I have over 10,000 photos in all; most of which display fine).What should I be looking for to explain and correct this issue?
Have a number of std blocks with a single part number located centrally within a circle similar to std grid line coordinates used on architectural plans.
Is there a simple way to set the block up with its part number fixed centrally so that when the block is inserted at different rotation angles the part number always appears central within the circle and upright.
Forget lisp as only have LT.how to centralise the text within an attribute so its always central when block is rotated.
At my last job, the CAD manager there had certain blocks which, upon insertion, automatically selected the rotate command. i.e., as soon as you click to place the block, it was free rotating.
I've search for the answer, but everything just tells me how to put the rotate command inside the dynamic block, but I don't know how to make it "auto-jump" to that immediately upon insertion.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have used annotative text and selected yes for match orientation to layout for the text. In the viewport it is rotating automatically with the view, however the boxes around the text do not rotate as well. Is there anyway to automate this?
The Client requires a key plan which has all the pipe data on it. The key plan is oriented in one direction. Then for the plan & profile drawings, the plan is oriented in another direction. I don't want to have two create two sets of text (one for the key plan and one for the plan/profile drawing). How can I use one set of text and make it work in the key plan and for all the plan/profile drawings? Image is attached.
And that problem is how I can remove the frames, let's say for about ten minutes, of a video I made with an DSLR-camera. Maybe the answer is simple, nevertheless I couldn't find it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am doing a project for school that requires me to "scan" some old books by shooting the pages with a DSLR-type camera. The setup is kind of like a poor-man's planetary scanner, but unlike a real PS, it doesn't have fancy proprietary software to "flatten out" the curves in the pages (near the binding and in the middle) that distort the text. Since part of my project involves processing the images with OCR into ebooks, I need the lines to be as straight as possible for accuracy's sake. I figure photoshop has GOT to be able to handle distortion correction like this, but I am clueless on how to do it. So far, I have tried to get close by cropping the pictures with a perspective correction, but the pages are still unreadable near the binding and in the middle.

View 10 Replies View RelatedHaving just loaded 10,000+ scanned negatives in LR 4.3, I am applying Auto Tone as a starting point for development settings. I have selected all images in Grid View, right-clicked to Develop Settings...Auto Tone. I can then go to the Develop page and Auto Tone is shown in every images History.the Auto button is still visible and I can click on it and get different [generally better] settings.
Is there a reason why Auto Tone applied to multiple photos produces different development settings from when it is applied individually to each photo?
Just upgraded from Studio 12 to VSx6 and love it. Now I'm trying to be more creative and import .jpg images from my Nikon DSLR to use in my videos. Most of my images are 4288x2848 for 12.2 MB. Should I be resizing the images before importing, if so to what size?
For example, I created a time-lapse from 90 images in VSx6 from the same size images, but the video did not have the sharpness I expected. The individual photos were sharp as a tack, but the video seemed almost out of focus.
Recently got a canon 7D and X3 crashes when I try to edit them. Its fully updated and I even tried a new install so I was stuck converting the files to mp4s in Hitfilm.
So my question is how does X4 fair with .mov files from a DSLR at 1280x720 60p? I can't waste another day converting files like that and I have another shoot booked on the 28th.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've recently been brought on to a production (hour long doc) that's pretty much already been edited to time (picture locked), however at the time of the editing they didn't have a broadcaster. Now they do have one on board that's requesting delivery in 60i.
All the footage was shot at 29.97p with a 5D Mrk 3. The show was started in Premiere CS 6 but they upgraged to Premiere CC. I know that it's now possible in Premiere to change the sequence settings of a pre-existing sequence. I was just wondering what would be the simplest way to convert the footage / timeline to 60i from 29.97p footage sititng in a 29.97p sequence. Do I have to re-transcode all of the footage in the edit? or can I just change the sequence settings and have premire treat the 29.97p footage as 60i? I assume this wouldn't change the running time of the edit since I'm just splitting the progressive frames into fields.

I'm experiencing a bit of an organization problem with Lightroom 3 which is probably rather easy to fix, but I just can't seen ti figure out how. When I import photos in Lightroom it automatically creates folders (2011-12-14 for example) and I would like to change the location on my computer for these folders, but I can't find where to do it. It now creates these folders in my regular Pictures folder which gets really messy due to this. How can I change this? And how do I relocate all the excisting folders on my laptop, without having to find all the missing photos afterwards.

I know that I can use a develop module preset to apply an edit from a captured frame of video. Most, but not all develop module settings are availalbe via this technique. One setting that is not is "spot edit heal".
I have a small dust spot that appears in every frame of video in a blue water background shot underwater with my housed Nikon D7100. Is there a way to remove it with Lightroom?
I shot an event for a couple (a reception) and I didn't have my gray card so I set my Canon 5D mkII on auto white balance (shooting with a Canon 24-70 2.8 and a Sigma 85 1.4). As you'll see from the two example photos - the shots taken in the venue lobby looked fine, but the shots from inside the event itself were amazingly saturated. The room had a ton of very bright uplighting in purple and pink - the shots looked fine in the viewfinder, but once I brought them into LR4, there was a nearly complete purple/pink cast over everything. Setting the white balance in LR to auto, tungsten, flourescent - nothing worked. Adjusting the temp sliders - only slightly better. Reducing vibrance and saturation useful a little more, but I'm really having a hard time finding a fix!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was using these tool on a lot of images, because they often seemed to vastly improve them, making the colors pop on otherwise somewhat dull ones, and getting rid of unwanted color casts..
Later though I noticed that it is often at the cost of burning out hightlights in some areas beyond salvation.I also find shadow /highlight sometimes does this also.
Then I tried to protect some small areas with a mask before proceeding, but it seems that I can't find information on just painting a mask, but only videos with much more complex adjustment such as the Russel Crow or Lynda ones with maintaing hair detail while superimposing images, which is way beyond what I need in these cases.
If I try the wand to select and inverse I get unnatural looking divisions. Is it a matter of feathering to the right extent?
I have just moved from 7.0 to CS3 (and PC to Mac) and am currently trying to get to grips with the new features! Once which I love is the auto-align and auto-blend feature(s). My question is, is there any way to control how these features work? I have seen on some web sites people talk about 'fuzziness' sliders where you can control that if an object (pixels) appear in X% of the photos they should/shouldn't be included in the final image but I cannot find these.
My intention is to use these features to take photos of monuments and have the people who are moving about removed from the final image (I guess it's the auto-align that would do this.) I tried a test and took a number of photos at home but I kept moving one object around (a pen.) The pen appears in all the images but in a different location so it always appears in the final image. When I tried auto-align with a stack that included one image without the pen, the pen was removed from the final image. Given the first scenario (i.e. the object is in all the images but in a different location) is there any way of automatically removing it using auto-align or would this have to be a manual process? In the real world, it would be possible to take a photo of a monument with people in different locations but it would be much harder (or take a long time) to take one where at least one person was not in all the photos (there's always someone loitering.)
Yes, I'm probably the only person on the planet that wants this, but I liked how the Auto Tone auto adjusted the Exposure slider (ONLY!) and left all the other sliders at zero in the Lightroom 4 beta.
Is there a way to write a preset that returns that behavior?

New user to PSE11. Is it recommended that ALL photos be in albums or is the idea that photos in albums are a subset of the photos in folders? With all the sort and search functionality, I don't understand the benefit of albums.I name my image folders using a standard naming convention with the date embedded so it makes them rather easy to manage.
