I'm working on a project, and all of a sudden when I ad a outline line width to an object the outline seems transparent to me. I can get it to stop doing this with copying other objects in the scene that have a solid line around them, but as soon as I go back to the other items the transparent line width starts happening again.

Attached is the Untitle.jpg, to make more clearer to you. Blue is the wall and skyblue is the aquarium. I want the back and the front of the aquarium don't have any line in the middle but even I do shade command the fill of the color is still there. Cause if I explode and delete the line in the middle the colors that fill the aquarium are getting rid off See Untitled 2.Jpg to see what I mean. And also how can make the aquarium Untitle 3.jpg transparent?
I'm doing Gary's Create a Sunflower and pot (July 2008) tutorial and just as always I run into problems combining/converting shapes. I believe I have followed the tut exactly and the only thing my lines do is taper at the bottom.
Also, I'm using Designer 7 and there is no option for changing line width to 6 px, only 4 and 8. So I'm using 8 pxls. I tried typing in a 6 and hitting enter but it doesn't accept a 6.
Is there maybe keyboard shortcut to change the width of a Line?
For example similarly as at texts the Ctrl + Shift + < and Ctrl + Shift + > do that, changing the text size down or up.
I have been trying how to figure out how to make the center if an object transparent with color gradually appearing on the borders. The transarency tool insists on starting with a solid color in the center. If using a square as an example, how do I make the center transparent with the edges graduating to a solid color?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been working with Xara for two days now, and it's great! I am using the trial version of Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 9. I created a file with a couple of transparent shapes (love the transparency tool - so easy!), and it looked great. I exported to .pdf, and the transparent gradient was all gone. The shapes are there, but have no gradient whatsoever.
I also exported it as a .jpg and the gradients are present in the .jpg. In other words, the .xar file looks great and the .jpg looks great. Just the .pdf doesn't work.
Where are the Scale Line Width options Icons located?

I'm not in good command of the Xara model here. If I create a move a series of copies lines (in effort to, say, make a grid), if I move the line from the bottom upwards it tends to align on the top edge. If I move from the above downwards, it tends to align on the bottom edge.
However, not always. <----this spooks me a bit.
This is with "align to grid" on, but "align to object" off.
Is there a way to have the line path itself (the infinitely thin middle of the line) align to the grid? I'm assuming that I can then worry about line joins (mitre, butt, etc.) separately.
I recently downloaded and installed the latest version update. Everything seems to be working fine. However, one thing is not. The Set line width box in the flyout menu does not allow typing in a custom number. I thought it might have been a problem with my Cintiq but it is the same on my main monitor.
The Set line width box in the main toolbar works fine. But the one in the flyout doesn't work. I can select a setting from the dropdown list but just can't type in something like 1.5. It doesn't matter if I use my number pad--with the numlock on--or the keyboard numbers. Another strange thing I just noticed, when trying to type in a number in the flyout box, I cannot type 1 or 2 or a period but I can type in 0,3-9 although none of these changes the width of the line.
This worked okay in the previous version so perhaps it is a bug in the new release? (7.1.2.18680)
is it possible maybe to draw with transparent line in Shape tool?
Currently if I draw a line, make it transparent, the next line as default the same color and width, but does not inherit the transparency. That means it is not possible or just at me
Trying to use the width tool, I ran into the following problem. I would like to have a smooth transition of the stroke width between two width points while keeping the original stroke width unchanged outside of that line segment.
There are four width points here: two end points and two in between. The original stroke width is 200. The two on the left have one side set to 100 while the two on the right have one side set to 50. I would like to eliminate the distortion of the line width occuring in the first and third line segments. The only solution that I have come up with so far is to place two additional width points very close to the two middle width points: one with a 100-unit side to the left of the second point in the picture and one with a 50-unit side to the right of the third point in the picture. Yet there will be a small distirtion in between.
I am looking to draw my pipe with a thicker appearance than the typical line of width "0". Our storm pipes are usually drawn with this so as to stand out from other utilities. If the pipe is represented by a polyline, I have usually adjusted the "Width" or "Global Width" value to my liking. With pipe objects, it seems more complicated. I have searched the settings, and the closest thing that I could find was the Lineweight property, but that appears to have no effect on the line thickness in the CAD drawing.
Do I need to tweak a plot setting? Make a new linetype altogether?
I'm sure there's a way to do this but for the life of me I can't remember and can't find it when I do a search. I have an object that is comprised of several lines that are grouped together, and I want to fill the entire group with a fractal cloud 3-color fill. In order to do so, I am creating the fill as a background, and making the object transparent, but when I do that, all my lines disappear (of course!) but I need the lines in it for details. Basically I want to layer this object

View 6 Replies View RelatedI copied some lines with global widths into another drawing and the line is displayed and printed with an outline around the global width of the line in the new drawing.. almost like it is a (3D offset for the global width, and not solid fill)
I have checked my fillmode. "fillmode = 1" and I also checked my UCS "UCS is set to current"
Why is this happening and if it has to do with some inherent properties of that new dwg?
I must be missing something fundamental when trying to change a line from a solid line to a hidden or dashed line in Autocad 2000. I use the ltype command then load either Hidden, or dashed ISO,or both, and invariably the scale is way off in that I always end up with a still solid line, after using modify properties. After all that, every line I draw after that comes out dashed. Maybe I should fool with the layers? Is there a basic procedure I should follow here?

Snap to grid does not work and there is no coordinates available for setting or am I missing something again.
Where is the option to control page width & height so that you can make both even measurements? I typically get something like w 1920.4px & h 1080px. When I try to change the width to 1920 the height adjusts as well. I know there is a simple fix for this but I can't find it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a professional web developer and I have been trying to do something for a while, well thats not quiet true I have achieved this but I cannot believe its as complex as it appears to be. I want to create CSS Sprite pages, I have looked at the graphic library with its buttons and to be honest they are great but I cannot get over how you can split the mouse over images from the static none roll over images within the layers section.
Just finally can I set a snap grid with a width and height so for example I want a grid of width 100 and height say 35? again to aid in me creating CSS Sprite pages.

My Xara goes to None and 1,78px only, I think I've magically fixed it to 1,78px stroke width, not knowing how.
I imported a file from ai. as dxf. Now, I want to change Solid line into dashed line. I tried doing it with properties, checked its scale. But it is still not changing.

I need some pages only a certain height and others shorter, taller, etc. When I edit the size to say 1000x width and 3000x height somehow all the other pages either lengthen or shorten and cut content.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have created this rendering and for some reason the metal plate which is supposed to be non-transparent is showing up with some transparency.
I'm using the diamond plate material that comes with AutoCAD. There is no transparency setting with this material so I can't set it to non-transparent. Short of trying some different materials, I was thinking there must be some way of resolving this.

I have a solid object whose layer I make transparent. It is transparent, but it leaves little grey dots in model space and paper space. Dot size and spacing doesnt' change when I zoom in and out.

It would not have to be an advanced plugin, it would only require 2 features:
1. Max width (the maximum width in the middle of the line)
2. And of course would let you decide where the line should be.
So the plugin should create something like this:
I have liner map feature. I want to apply to lines width like on the picture which I attached. For drawings - polylines I apply differnt "start segment width" and "end segment width" on the "Properties". But how can I do it for liner map features which I connected with "Data connect"?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've got CS6 (Using the Cloud so most up to date version).I want to draw a line segment. I select .5pt for the stroke width. I draw the line whilst holding down Shift so it's straight. It defaults to 1pt width. I select it and try to change the width using both the appearances panel and the tool bar. It automatically defaults back.
I draw the line on an angle and it remains at .5pt. But I don't want an angled line. I want a straight line. I draw it with the pen tool and it defaults to 1pt.
