I can't put video thumbnails into the library. I had deleted previous projects from the library and now the library won't accept anything - even new captures. I can add titles-just not anything into "samples".
View 2 RepliesI just moved my Lightroom catalog to a new PC. I designated the new folder correctly and have no lost files but my thumbnails only show when I scroll to them in Library. If I go to a new position, I have to wait for them to refresh (create?). I have optimized the catalog several times. Is there an easy way to refresh them all? I have plenty of memory, computer speed, and Lightroom expertise.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a video folder of 16 clips generated by a D300s. I am able to load about half of them properly into the LR catalog. The remainder appear to load but without thumbnails. (I get a message "Preview is unavailable for this file" when I can see the preview in the Windows folder directly.) The remainder also do not play in LR although the first eight do. I have tried rebooting and reloading. This works with a few but not all of the clips.
I tried the process again, rebooting and reloading the files directly from my memory card, first to the windows folder and then to LR., This is the message I got from LR.
There is a problem with the video file (16) C:UsershalevinePicturesPhotographs 2-14-2013 and laterGrandchildren Eleanor20136-30 to 7-7Cambridge videos 6-30-07-7-2013DSC_5754.AVI (repeated for the other 15 files.)
The file sizes are between 80 and 220 mb. (Quicktime is installed on my computer and they open fine in it.)
I have a project that suddenly won't load. I have 25 versions of it, I save it under a new file name each time in case I need to go back to an older version.
Trouble is most of the versions won't load! Only the very early versions will load. Some of the later version start to load then disappear.
Hardware hasn't changed on the PC, maybe the video drivers have been updated, thats about it.
Does the AVCHD standard allow for thumbnails, so that when a disc is authored and then inserted into, say a PS3, it will show a thumbnail like a BluRay does?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just spent 20-minutes going through 17-chapter thumbnails settings for a DVD menu of this project only to find none of the changes are saving. I tried repeatedly and the chapter thumbnails always revert to the original values for ALL sub-menus. Does seem to save the main menu thumbnail.
All I do is right-click, select to set the thumbnail, find the place and it works. Just doesn't save when I click to CLOSE the DVD process and come back in, eventhough it says "Saving project"
15.1.0.34 so I think I have all outstanding patches. When I go through the internal process to "check for updates, it says I am up-to-date.
How to delete thumbnails from the libraries.When I right click on the thumbnail, DELETE is greyed out, when I select the thumbnail and hit DELETE on the key board, also does not work. Just recently upgraded to X3.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been looking for a solution casually for about a year to this, maybe I'm just stupid! When I import all my videos from my camera and put them into appropriate folders they make thumbnails for the files. Unfortunetely when I close down my computer and come back, they have disppeared. This is a pain because, it makes a large amount of files easy to work with as you have some idea what's contained from a thumbnail! Now initially I just thought it was my computers age (not that old) but I have a Dell XPS i7 Laptop also and it's the same story!
I shoot high quality 1080i .mts files so I'm sure they are a resource suck! Is it because the computer doesn't have the power in the RAM to remember all these files? I would of thought, once a thumbnail is made it's just like a JPEG and not changing ever in real time? Is there something I've turned off on my computer, telling it not to remember thumbnails?
I'm going back to a project that has been dormant for almost a year. My project files are fine, but when I load them there are no thumbnails any more, just the default thumbnail library.
Are there library files associated with my project files I can search for and what kind of file is that?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just know I've posted about this before, in years gone by, but I've forgotten something simple. I have VideoStudio ultimatex6, but have an older computer with x5pro. When I load up my avi files, the thumbnails in the library and the edit window show only as black, though the clip name shows beneath the clip. And the clip plays clearly in the preview window that pops up when you ask it to.
I have the program on another computer and this is not a problem. All is fine. What I have assumed is there is a setting somewhere that does this - yet, comparing one to the other, I can't see any difference in the way the units are set under preferences. No doubt, there is some silly little thing causing me to think bad thoughts. So, I want to take the computer - which does have the specs for the program - to the cottage and leave the behemouth home.
Having a problem with VS x4. For some reason, when trying to open, a windows 7 dialogue box appears asking " do you want the following program to make changes to the computer?" Program: Corel File: hard drive on computer.
Unable to click "no". Click "yes" the dialogue box disappears. When trying to open program afterwards, the same box appears.
Alright so I had VS X4 working fine in the past, now when I go to load it it always gives me this error:

I saw a thread that had something to do with X4 and .mp4 issues involving some other software or something? I'm using barebones X3 and when trying to add some .mp4 files, X3 crashes. Some of them work and are added to the library, but most do not and crash X3.

Videostudio 11+ won't load any .avi files,it just gives the message 'catastrophic failure'. Even if I scan the dv tape with the program it will save the files as avi but it still won't let me use them.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have VS12. I downloaded the trial version of X5, mainly to see if it could read my VS12 files. It could. I used X5 to render a VS12 file that had continually crashed when I tried to rendered it with VS12. Not only did it render it successfully, but it did it about twice as fast as VS12 - great. However, that was yesterday. Today I've been trying to reload the original file into X5 again & I just get the message "File xxxx is already in use". Running X5 by double-clicking on the file, running X5 first & clicking the filename from the file menu or clicking Open from the file menu & selecting the file from the list - all give that result. The only way I have loaded the file is to run X5 & drag the file to the timeline. The file has opened, but the project is shown as untitled, even though there is a title. Also the project is shown as a single entity on the timeline, not made up of individual frames & captions. Where has my project gone? Is it still in X5? I've tried to open other projects, & they all give the same message! I can't try out my trial version I it won't load my projects!
PS I've just spent a few minutes holding the mouse pointer over various icons on the X5 screen & clicking a few to see where I got. After that, I had another go at loading the file - & it loaded successfully!! I assume when I loaded X5, it came up in some mode & I managed to get it out of it.
I am using VSX5 Ultimate. I installed a program called drop box and another called Helium. After installing these programs, VSX5 will no longer load. The intro screen does not even come up. I click on my short cut and my mouse pointer spins for a few seconds, then nothing. I have checked my programs and I do not have browser protect, browser manager or babylon. I uninstalled the two programs I mentioned above and restarted my computer but nothing happens still. Should I try uninstalling VSX5 and reinstalling?

Manually uninstalled, re-downloaded, reinstalled and still crashing on application loading. 6 hours of pure frustration. Never had an issue with X4. before I completely uninstall and purchase a new video editor?

I suspect I have inadvertently deleted, or unlinked, the Type 2 codec. Strangely, the files play OK with Media Player, it's just X3 that's refusing to work! I've reinstalled X3 but that's not made any difference. How do I identify the codecs available?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI created a 30min video, with a lot of photos mixed with live video, transitions, music, etc. Now, when I try to reopen the file for futher editing, it appears the software needs to re-render all the thumbnails in my video track stream. As I mentioned, I have a lot of photos in there, so it's taking forever.
With the previous software I used (Pinnacle Studio), I could flush the cache and have the program rebuild (and store) all the thumbnail info for faster loads in subsequent sessions.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI use X5 Pro. I have some projects with lots of video clips. When I load a project, the project itself loads fairly quickly (as indicated with the green progress bar), but the Icons in the Project area then begin loading ONLY for the page being displayed. This applies for both the storyboard and timeline view. This is very frustrating, especially on the storyboard view, because every time I scroll a page I have to wait for the icons to load. With a lot of pages, it takes a very long time to get everything loaded.
Is there a way to either speed up the loading process or have it load in the background so that I can leave the computer and come back later to find the icons all loaded, rather than having to sit there and scroll through one page at a time waiting for each page to load until all pages are loaded?
Along with giving me a failure after closing telling me to send my dmp file to Corel, but Corel not showing me anyway to do this, my newest error is the best one yet. The program opens with a little window saying "Load from Stream Error" and an OK button. The OK button does nothing. Nothing else can be used. The computer is totally locked up with this wonderful piece of unfinished program in place. My only recourse is to power the computer off manually to restart it. starting VS"pro"4U just locks it down again. Is there a way to clear this without following Corels instructions for every problem. That being to remove and reload the program. The next time I remove it will be to throw it and it's boxed installation disk in the trash can, then go out and buy something a bit more reliable. Like Adobe's little girl Premier, or Sony's video editing program.
This looks so nice, if it just worked. I have quite a few hours into a video and just wanted to add a new title when this started.
For some inexplicable reason, the 'Smartsounds' tracks I load into the time line do not RENDER. That is, the 'share' button creates the suitable video file without the music! Their is a message, "Load from Stream Error" which comes up after the rendering process.

(or to put on audio track 2 and mute 1). I haven't as yet found a way to lift the audio track and load into a separate file.
