First of all I have noticed that there are (2) keynote areas in my wall type object properties dialogue box and the only one that works when I go to tag it with a keynote is the number keynote. How do I get the text keynote to work within the wall type object properties? note I am trying out creating keynotes within objects rather than having them point to a text editor.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to edit the keynote family with no luck. We are updating our standards and getting into using the keynote system in revit. I have added the correct keynote to most of our standard materials and its working great. I then opened the keynote family and changed the justification of the text to justify the way we do notes. I also changed the line style of the leader lines so it matches our other notes.
All went well. I get stuck when I try to change the gap between the leader tail and the text. I can't find anywhere to actually edit the line/arrow in the family that would let me change how that works. If you see my attached image the one on the top is our standard note and the other two are the keynote family.
How to set / change that gap?
Is it possible to have multiple leaders with one keynote?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Revit model (A) being linked into another Revit Model (B). In model B I set the VG of the linked model A to By Linked View. Now, when I do this I see all my Element Keynotes, but non of my User Keynotes show.
Things tested:
Created models C and D to try in fresh environment - All Keynotes show up
Created model E and linked A into it - User Keynotes do not show up
Overwrote the Keynote Family in A and retested - User Keynotes do not show up
So this means there is some problem in Model A that it is not pushing the User Keynotes through when linked.
The help file says the keynote file should be located here- C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataAutodesk<Revit release name><Imperial or Metric> Library Not happening. I'm in windows xp pro 64

I have a keynote legend filtered per sheet but I also want another sheet that shows the full keynote list even if I haven't placed all of them in a view. Is this possible?

However, whilst the process (in Revit) seems straight forward "R"> Print> Print> Print Dialog>OK, having set the print properties etc, when I go to 'Print Range'> Selected Views/Sheets> Select> View/Sheet Set Dialog> <in-session> the two other Legends are listed but not the Keynote Legend! See below, whilst the 'Keynote Legend Can be clearly seen in the Project Browser and is the open view.

I've banged my head against the wall all day trying to get this to work with dynamic blocks, but it is beyond me.
moved from PC to Mac by external hard drive. Remapped path to images. Everything is fine but when I do the folder sync command it shows me 100 % of my images as missing and the same amount as new files. There are no explanition marks in the tree view and this is the only indicator that something is wrong.
On the PC everything is fine. If I click on show file in finder for a picture finder opens with the correct file marked.
So I wonder whether I can trust that folder sync feature?
why my interior rendering scenes just show up black. I have opened up projects from previous releases that I was able to get interior scenes to render correctly and they render fine in 2013. I've imported the modified fixtures to the current projects file and they still don't do anything. The scene I'm talking about has a ceiling modeled on the underside of a floor. I've read this may be an issue, but my light fixtures light source is to be 1/4" above the plane of the ceiling. In my case, it's a 5/8" layer of drywall.

When I start a new project from any of the preinstalled templates, the shaded views (with or without edges) do not show any shading and only display HLR. When I create a new family, or open a project from the tutorial downloads, the shading works. Is there a project setting that I am missing? Creating a render of the view shows proper shading/materials, just in the design phase it does not show.

Ive created a dwf with multiple sheets (an electrical set, in this example). I sent it to a client who marked it up in Autodesk Design Review and sent it back to me. I inserted it (insert/dwf markup) and it comes into the revit14 drawing file just fine but all the comments are on the SHEET and not in the view. This is very inconvenined becuase I must open the view, make the change, exit the view, edit the dwf comment and repeat over and over. How does one get/force the person doing the markup to work within the VIEW?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently Building a Library Technology Hub that has 3 story atrium. I'm trying to create a 3d camera view that shows the multiple levels that open to the atrium. However, only the 1st floor and mezanine floor (within 1st floor ceiling heights) are in my 3d view. The rendred view shows as if I have a solid ceiling across the entire 1st floor. I am almost positive that this is an issue with my camera settings since my 2nd and 3rd floors are cut around the atrium opening. I have clicked on almost every option in my properties menu and am at a loss!
Just btw, I'm an intermediate level, self-taught revit user (I have used it on a daily basis for about a year now). I'm no guru, but I'm quite savvy on making things work like I want them to.
I have attached a test render of the space. the "ceiling" should be open above my mezanine, and extend to desk at the right and the lounge seating at the left. However, it has rendered as a single plane.

I have Revit 2012 on a old laptop. I tried to install 2013 on a new laptop, but had this same problem and gave up. Now, I need 2014, so I'm readdressing the issue.
My question is if my team is working in one central model is it importmant to be using the same build number? Or does it "not matter"? I was once told it does matter so we are all using the same version of revit and minimizes errors from different builds.

I want to modify the Room number label so that the rectangle outline displays smaller (less wide).

View 6 Replies View RelatedIt was working fine. Then I just did a simple command (pattern a part) and the entire workspace blinked out. The first time it happened I hit UNDO and it was back. So I got out of the drawing and got back in and tried the pattern again. Same issue but this time when I hit UNDO it would not come back. I closed the file without saving and when I went back in the file the workspace is still nothing but white screen. In the browser everything is still visible except for those that I had already changed to invisible. I tried making an invisible to visible and nothing happened. I got out and tried opening the "old version" which should've been before any of this happened and it is also blank. I can go to an ipt or iam in the browser and hit open and it will open in another screen just fine. I just can't see my main assembly. I have Inventor 2012. It shows no errors or messages. I have even rebooted.
I looked thru the forum and found a past issue back in 2005 identical. I tried doing Find in Window on an item in the browser but for some reason that option is not even in the list when I right click.
Is there a way to close the space between the Room Tag leader and the room number box? See the attached png file.
This gap seems to get larger if the room name is larger.
Stair tread number tool is wonderful. BUT it is being not printed properly.

- 'on screen' on the left is taken from my screen. The numbers are shown correctly.
- 'after print' in the middle is a black&white pdf print by adobe pdf. you can see there is the last number missing.
- 'after print-random number missing' on the right is a coloured pdf print also by adobe pdf. several numbers are missing and it happened randomly.

The text inside the viewports in one drawing in paper space shows thickened when zoomed in and is hard to read, and this only happens in one drawing.
What is the setting to change this?
