I would like to add a Master Keynote Legend on a drawing that shows my entire keynote list regardless of whether or not it is used in the project. I have a keynote legend filtered per sheet but I also want another sheet that shows the full keynote list even if I haven't placed all of them in a view. Is this possible?
View 5 RepliesI have been trying to print a Keynote Legend directly to a network printer specifically because I wish to reference the legend whilst working at another PC to edit some specification notes which refer to the project I am working on. However, whilst the process (in Revit) seems straight forward "R"> Print> Print> Print Dialog>OK, having set the print properties etc, when I go to 'Print Range'> Selected Views/Sheets> Select> View/Sheet Set Dialog> <in-session> the two other Legends are listed but not the Keynote Legend! See below, whilst the 'Keynote Legend Can be clearly seen in the Project Browser and is the open view.

How to get the legend to accept keynote fields that are not generated by the stock keynote tools?
I'm trying to edit the keynote family with no luck. We are updating our standards and getting into using the keynote system in revit. I have added the correct keynote to most of our standard materials and its working great. I then opened the keynote family and changed the justification of the text to justify the way we do notes. I also changed the line style of the leader lines so it matches our other notes.
All went well. I get stuck when I try to change the gap between the leader tail and the text. I can't find anywhere to actually edit the line/arrow in the family that would let me change how that works. If you see my attached image the one on the top is our standard note and the other two are the keynote family.
How to set / change that gap?
Is it possible to have multiple leaders with one keynote?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Revit model (A) being linked into another Revit Model (B). In model B I set the VG of the linked model A to By Linked View. Now, when I do this I see all my Element Keynotes, but non of my User Keynotes show.
Things tested:
Created models C and D to try in fresh environment - All Keynotes show up
Created model E and linked A into it - User Keynotes do not show up
Overwrote the Keynote Family in A and retested - User Keynotes do not show up
So this means there is some problem in Model A that it is not pushing the User Keynotes through when linked.

I'm trying to draw a "door types" drawing which shows the elevation of each type of door and I want to be able to place a title under each door that displays the door type mark. This is a very standard type of drawing that architects draw for almost every project and..after all...what could be more basic to a legend component then to be able to label it?
Now I use text to label each type of door...but if someone changes the door type mark and fails to update the legend also....I get a very un-Revit-like mis-coordination with my door schedule!
After a PURGE UNUSED it is impossible to create new LEGEND.

I now want to do the same on the 'Proposed' Area plan, showing the new areas in the general plan ignoring the existing walls, but when I colour the areas the walls show through the solid colours, is there any way I can get the areas to cover up the walls on this plan - something line draw order.
I know you can select the area, and change the Colour Scheme Location to foreground or background - but the walls always show through...
I was able to bring in custom curtain wall panels as legend components-- however, when I set the host length, the height is automatically the same. Is there a way to insert a curtain wall panel into a legend that will have a rectangular shape (in my case, taller than it is wide)?

I did the first wall type just fine, placed it in section, tagged the material, etc. Now when I go to place another wall in a section view, it tells me the component is not visible in selected view. They are both new construction phase, stacked walls.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI thought I kind of understood level of detail and master views but apparently not. I have an I-Beam that I have cut and bent in the part file. In the drawing I would like to show the beam both full length and in the bend configuration. From my reading I thought I would be able to create one view with the part in final shape and one view where I suppress all the bends and show the part with the cuts in it but all flattened out. I created view1 with the part bent, I then created view 2 and supressed all the bends. Unfortunately the bare does not toggle back and forth in the part, and when I place the part in a drawing. I am still not bale to have a difference in the part in the drawing with the two configurations either. What is the proper method of obtaining the two different views?
Also is there a way to request software enhancements?
We create many large assemblies where the shop uses a cut sheet to make the parts. Since many of the parts have secondary opperations like forming or cutting done to them i like to create a second sheet with the piece parts dimensioned on the sheet. In SolidWorks i would simply create the views, create an assembly BOM and link the balloons to that BOM, end of story. Not in Inventor! And creating a million LOD views to hide all but the one part in each view is not an answer for a professional CAD program.

Is there an easy way to do a leader to a keynote symbol?
in other words, instead of text at a leader, I want to put a diamond shape with a number in it coresponding to a key note.
How I can cut from one keynote database and paste to another? in keynote editor?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI created a Multileader style in AutoCAD LT 2011 that duplicated our Architectural firms standards from previous versions. Pretty simple. The problem is, when utilized using AutoCAD LT 2012, AutoCAD LT 2013, AutoCAD 2012, or AutoCAD 2013, a small dot appears in the keynote bubble. (it also plots) Workarounds include checking “Automatically include landing” and/or changing “Content – Insertion point” to “Content – Center Extents”, in the “Modify Multileader Styles” dialogue. Both unacceptable per our office standards. Tough being 2 versions of AutoCAD behind office wide, because of such a minor bug but our keynoting has looked the same since 1992 and I really thought it would have been fixed since posting after the release of 2012.
Attached is a .dwg or you can follow these instructions. Start a new drawing, go in to “Annotate”, Click “Leaders”, hit “new”. Name it whatever you like, I’ve named mine “Test”. Under “Leader Structure”, uncheck “Automatically include landing”. Under “Content” change “Multileader type:” to “Block”, “Source block” to “Circle”(this setting can be set to anything), and “Attachment:” to “insertion point”. Hit “O.K.”, highlight your newly created Multileader style, hit “Set Current”, and close out. Test your new multileader style and notice the dot.
I have not had any luck finding support on Auto Cad Architectures Keynoting w/ data base.
The issues I can't seem to resolve are: formatting the reference legend and saviing the format so I can re-use it in all my drawings creating a custom reference keynote?
My office currently has a unique keynote database for each project. When I open a file with a sheet keynote legend, AutoCAD 2010 opens up the correct database and everything is fine. This is also true when I try to plot a sheet file. However, when I plot through the batch-plot process, AutoCAD does not open the correct database.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIm trying to change the table style formatting and nothing seems to stick. I want to turn the border off in the title cell and only use a thick underline.
I change the schedule cell, save changes to the style and Ive tried saving as a new style but when I reinsert the cell format is gone. Back to the out of the box state.
Also, when I save the OTB style to my new A3 Sheet Keynote style the new style doesnt match what was saved.
I am attempting to create a circle keynote. The circle part of the keynote shall resize itself according to the width of the text in a fashion similar to how the TCIRCLE command draws a circle around text.
I've banged my head against the wall all day trying to get this to work with dynamic blocks, but it is beyond me.
Using a keynote database on some modernization plans.
The database has keynotes listed as: (1.1,1.5...2.3,2.5...9.13,9.14 etc.)
All other keynotes are fine. When selecting one particular keynote 9.14-Carpet Tile Walk Off Mat (CPT-2)
...instead of 9.14 displaying on the plan like all the other keynotes, this displays: 09 68 00.C1
(I've made sure that only the key is selected to display and not the key and note option from the annotation options list. So that can't be the problem.)
I have a legend and can't manage to move it to a different part of the screen. Should be simple..
