AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Legend For Contour Colour Scheme
Jan 22, 2013We have a Civil 3D surface using contours which are coloured according to the elevation. But when we do a surface legend, and use contours, it just numbers the contours instead of using the colours. Ever created a surface table with the colours of each contour elevation?

Feb 23, 2013I have to ad a object to the legend of a map in autocad.
The map contains a grid with on the right lower corner a legend window. Someone else drew some tents and fences on the map and most of the object were copied and placed in the legend with the text next to them explaining what the object is.
If i turn off layer 0 both the objects as well as the grid and legend disappear (means they are all drawn on layer 0) all other layers are the background of the map.
Problem is that I can select the objects drawn on the map but when i copy and drag them to the legend window they disappear behind the legend.
Even if I order them to be op top or in front of other objects they stay behind the white rectangular that contains the legend.
Another problem is that the legend and the grid aren't selectable, is there a way to make them selectable again?

Jan 17, 2012Is there any way to tag a legend component? I'm trying to draw a "door types" drawing which shows the elevation of each type of door and I want to be able to place a title under each door that displays the door type mark. This is a very standard type of drawing that architects draw for almost every project and..after all...what could be more basic to a legend component then to be able to label it?
Now I use text to label each type of door...but if someone changes the door type mark and fails to update the legend also....I get a very un-Revit-like mis-coordination with my door schedule!

Aug 30, 2011I've created an area plan of my existing building and coloured the areas using a Legend based on the area name.
I now want to do the same on the 'Proposed' Area plan, showing the new areas in the general plan ignoring the existing walls, but when I colour the areas the walls show through the solid colours, is there any way I can get the areas to cover up the walls on this plan - something line draw order.
I know you can select the area, and change the Colour Scheme Location to foreground or background - but the walls always show through...

Jul 10, 2008I was able to bring in custom curtain wall panels as legend components-- however, when I set the host length, the height is automatically the same. Is there a way to insert a curtain wall panel into a legend that will have a rectangular shape (in my case, taller than it is wide)?

I expected the chapter names from the production to be carried forward into the DVD burning stage, but apparently not. How can I edit the text for the chapter names in the DVD menu?

In the past I used windows explorer, which allowed me to modify groups of titles but now I just updated to windows 7 and it does not seem to allow that. Is there some way with Paint Shop Pro to modify the names of groups of photos - extract certain characters or words, add other characters or words, etc?

Jun 22, 2011How to fill an area with a colour in Xara 6, when that space is surrounded by different 'objects'?
So say I drew 3 separate lines to form a triangle. How can I fill that triangle with a colour? If I select the Fill Tool and choose a colour, then click in the centre of the triangle nothing happens.
If I were to do the same thing in Illustrator then it would simply create a new shape that fitted the space.
Perhaps this is not possible? Such a simple thing though, I feel I must be missing something. Is it perhaps available on Xara 7?

May 10, 2013We build our models in Sketchup. Export a 3d DWG and import that into Revit 2014 (through Conceptual mass). That way we can export sections etc from Revit.
The problem is that Revit sees the 3D DWG as a Mass, and therefore don export the layers we want to AutoCad.
Is there a way to "explode" the 3D DWG in Revit so it gets divided in to the layers we had before it was transformed into a Mass. So the layers follows the DWG export to Autocad?

With the flood fill tool selected I click on the foreground colour box in the materials palette.I click on the colour frame, the colour momentarily shows but does not alter the colour box.Clicking on the rainbow tab displays a box with black to white gradient in it.This will change the colour box to any shade clicked on.Clicking on the swatches colour tab gives varying shades in the colour box or does not change the colour box.What is going on here and how do I get back to normal so that I can change the foreground colour as before? Aug 9, 2012I am currently navigating the document model through all objects and manually adjusting the fill colour of desired objects.For example, for each layer, I iterate through the GroupItems, CompoundPathItems, PathItems, in the GroupItems I navigate the GroupItems, CompoundPathItems, PathItems, etc.
In order to change all the colours of the objects, it ends up taking over a minute to accomplish. But in the Illustrator UI, I can select a very complicated group item and change it's colour very fast. In the SDK, GroupItem does not have a fill colour parameter, so I have to iterate through all sub-items to change the colour.

My boss opens corel x5 and his object properties are set with x no fill but on opening a new document his properties change and a blue color shows in his fill, and of course when he creates a shape it is filled with this blue color.
Yes, he can just change the properties to x no fill each time he opens a new document but i wondered if we can change it and have it set at x no fill as the default ? I have tried everything I can think of but it seems to want to keep this blue color as the default.

Oct 23, 2012I do a lot of cookie cutter type buildings with pretty much the same room names and finishes for each building. Is it possible to predefine the room names with the identity data (to incl. base finish, floor finish, occupancy etc) in my template file and then just select this as I place the rooms?
I have tried creating the room with the identity data but all I can do is select the room. The predefined identity data does not translate to the new room number.
For example:
I create a room called 'Room Test 1' with a base finish, ceiling finish, floor finish and wall finish. I then go to place a room on the drawing. I can select 'Room Test 1' but all it does is add another 'Room Test 1' with a different room number and no identity data.
